I just gotta say... that INT that Goff threw today was the worst pass I’ve ever seen him make. Ever.

Something broke in me after watching that play. It’s like when you have a girlfriend... and she does something awful or stupid or disappointing... and you just know at that moment that the relationship is over. You just can’t get past it. You gotta break up with her.

For Goff to do something THAT dumb... when you know that his coaches have been brow-beating him with the “ball security” message over and over... it’s just freaking unforgivable. It makes me worry he’ll NEVER “get it.”

Hate to say I totally agreed with Aikman’s analysis. Aikman basically said, “As long as the Rams don’t turn the ball over, they’re really hard to beat.”

A this point, pretty much the only reason I MIGHT be ok with Goff as the 2021 QB is the Rams might not have much of a choice re. the cap. His salary right now is for me the ONLY reason for keeping him. I hate the idea of the Rams eating ANOTHER huge cap hit like they did with Cooks and Gurley.

Important disclaimer: I have been a HUGE Goff fan from before Day 1, even before the lead-up to the draft. I have always been one of those “rah rah positivity” guys with Goff. I still think he has tons of natural talent. And I have stubbornly defended him, always.

But that pick today... something broke in me. Feels like it’s over.
I felt the same way exactly. In fact, I turn paused the TV, took my dogs and myself for a 40-minute walk, watered the lawn, picked some lemons off the tree and took out trash. Rushed through the remainder of the game but I knew the outcome.

Can he block for one?
Im only asking because I haven't seen any blocking that makes me think "a pocket passer will perform well behind this".

Hell, why stop there?
Can he call plays and extend a playbook to include solutions to counter what the D is doing?
Yeah he can block for a quarterback. Will it matter? No. I bet he has seen a few successful slant passes he could draw in the dirt for Goff.

Yea there must be a huge conspiracy.. there's some secret powers behind the scenes that are making everyone point out Goff's bad play.

Because there's no logical way it could be the Super Bowl implosion followed by 2 consecutive bad seasons in which he leads the NFL in turnovers across that timespan.

Your posts are a total joke.

Man, I was giggling and agreeing with you up until that last sentence. @badnews never once said Goff wasn't Off. He just pointed out the commentators double standards. Don't attack the poster man, I respect you as much as any poster...just don't do that

I remember watching Bruce and Holt catch passes behind them with one hand. And they did it regularly.

We have 2 good WRs. They work really hard and do all of the little things... but they alone are not enough.

Take your time and don't fall for obvious tongue-in-cheek comments.
I said clearly it's laziness and its my opinion. FFS why do you care?
Oh, and you are calling several of the most longtime respected members of this board jokes as well, because they notice it too.

Saying there is a conspiracy surrounding the narrative of Goff's play is the most delusional thing anyone has ever said around here. I dont have a problem with anyone having their own opinion on him, everyone is entitled to one. People know what camp I'm in. But when you spew complete nonsense like that shit someone should call you out for it. The media isn't jumping on an easy narrative, he sucked in the super bowl and has been bad since. #1 in the NFL in turnovers. That's why the media gets on his ass, there is no conspiracy. Who defends Goff's play outside of a select few Rams fans? Nobody.

I disagree with that. We haven't seen a passing strip sack since Miami. Goff slid this week insteading of fighting for yards (the right decision IMO). Middle linebackers faking blitz and dropping into coverage hasn't been a big problem anymore either.

Teams are starting to learn our route trees on the designed rollouts and are covering them much better. These are much more risky throws than they once were.
Goff slid forward falling on the ball, which he has lost the ball this season doing so the exact same way. Goff has also thrown an interception when trying to throw the ball away more than once this season. There are plenty type of things he has done continuously throughout the season. I agree that teams are starting to learn our route trees, but imo its bc our play calls are extremely limited to protect Goff when the line doesnt give him time.

If I'm being honest, even if we make the playoffs we are likely one and done. No way we compete for a super bowl with this offense. At this point I'd rather lose against AZ and gain a few spots in the draft. Might not be the most popular take but trying to be a realist here. I just don't see this squad making a run .

No offense if I don't waste too much of my time trying to impress anonymous keyboard warriors I only seem to see on here immediately after a loss.

This is the vent thread. You get to say what you want about the team but that doesn't extend to members last I checked so I'm not going to be engaged in that childish shit. You got me once. Good on ya.

If the Rams had a first round pick, maybe.... but tanking the last game just to move up a spot or two in the 2nd round? No thanks.

Giants won the Super Bowl in 2011 after going 9-7 in the Reg Season. Weird shit can happen.

If John Wolford plays lights-out, and we get some good news on the health of our RB's, and Whitworth... Okay I'm having trouble convincing myself. But when the Rams have looked good this year, they've looked capable of beating anyone.

yeah its always a positive to say you made the playoffs. i remember a better part of two decades where we just dreamed of making the playoffs in anyway possible...

As with many others, I feel like you are speaking for me.

Exactly my thoughts and feelings.

Thank you for expressing that so well.

For some it is like blasphemy to be critical of our QB or HC no matter how poorly they performed. I believe McVay is not doing as well as he should and of course I am "stupid" for thinking maybe we need to keep an eye on his recent downward trajectory. But I digress. I just wish we as a group could be more kind and understanding of each other.

I love this team and loyal to the end. I believe McVay is our future and Goff should be on a short leash next year. We need a backup that could be our future. It is not just today but too much his entire career with us.

Tough couple weeks Ramily. Have a very Happy New Year and see you next Sunday!

GO RAMS!!!

At some point, perhaps the OLine can get back to controlling the line...lol, apparently that seems to get overlooked by some when it’s so easy to pile on elsewhere, jmo

Cheers!

Oh - anyone that couldn't discern my "conspiracy" comment was tongue-in-cheek is either too dense or just desperately clawing for something to attack.
Lol BUT I totally KNEW that would happen so in that very same post, I clarified that the cause is just lazy announcing imo.
Didn't help, even though it was written in the same language as everything else, some people only read or see what they are already looking for.

And if one more person thinks they need to remind me about Goffs turnovers as if that has anything to do with what I'm talking about, please don't. I watch the games closely too.

Goff hasn't been good enough this season and I have said that for several weeks. Just because I think the criticism is over the top doesn't mean I don't have a problem with his play! I TOTALLY DO! But bitching about bad QB play on a team with a bad offense is what I used to do in my early 20s. Nowadays I prefer to look at the other parts that are failing. Its a team game and if you want to win NFL games, you either have to land a super rare superstar QB (good luck) or you have to surround the QB you have with the right pieces.

Goff with a good line - winner
Goff with good line and deep threat- pro-bowler
Goff with a bad line - inconsistent
Goff with a bad line, no deep threat and predictable offense - Lots of turnovers.

Let me know when we have a lineman, WR, RB or TE make the pro bowl.

Caveman analysis can say "Look QB BAD!!!!"

It's a team game. Goff had one interception. Wilson had two last time we played.

We have no running game and terrible blocking going on.

Dude, even Goff admits he played like shit and that INT was the dumbest play of his career! Look it up lol.

Woods and Kupp are awful because they didn’t make then pro bowl? Not arguing about the line, they sucked! But Goff has continually made very very poor decisions this season, you have to see that right?

Dude I feel you. Today was the first time I got my girl to watch a game with me. She did so because she is tentatively becoming a seahag fan because they are the closest team to us in Portland and I am trying to get her to watch football. She is from Mexico and I always tell her about Vamos Rams and the Rams mariachi band to show her she would be betraying her people if she rooted for the seaturds lol But what the hell was I supposed to say when our QB makes THAT decision in front of her eyes....like...thanks for dooming me to eternal division with my girl Goof...wtf was that pass....just run for a few yards...the whole thing was BS. He needs to go man...he needs to go. (Disclaimer: High state of emotion post a shit loss gives me the right to reverse this comment lol)
Fuck that shit man! You have to take her to a Rams vs Whiners game or something in the new stadium next year, tailgate all that to make it sink in! lol

Also remind her of these facts
