Watkins has never been more than an average player.
His name is recognized so he will want too much money.
Pass on Watkins.
Idk. I think we all see what he is now. I'm not sure he'll ever see a big contract again. And while he is average, he is an ideal deep threat if we need one on a bargain.

Will Fuller seems to get hurt too much. Or is he healthy again?
Was healthy this year but was on PEDs. Might make him cheaper but hopefully that isn't what was keeping him healthy.

Checking out who they seem to think should be there at 58 for us in the draft and lo and behold...

Can you say destiny??? Ok I know we'll have someone take him in front of us but this dude will rarely get bulldozed...

Oooh, me like!

I wouldn't have a problem trading one of our 3 third round selections to move up a couple spots to get this guy.

Looks exactly like what we need.

Someone who won't get overpowered at the point of attack (Blythe's biggest weakness) and can bulldoze linebackers from time to time.

Ditto - that would be a good use of one of them and he looks like a guy who could start immediately.

Tore his ACL late in the year (SECCG).

I doubt Watkins gets big money coming off three mediocre, injury-prone seasons with KC. With the cap crunch, he's likely looking at a relatively cheap one year deal.

Fuller is likely going to be well out of our price range.
What's your estimate? I was hoping somewhere around 12.5 to 14. Although I know that would take some cap genius on our part.

I think Jefferson will fill the role. I was disappointed with his usage, but I think that was due to McVay preferring to give Reynolds as much of a chance as he could to show what he had.
That said, if Houston cuts Brandin Cooks to save cap room, and since he doesnt want to go to another new team, I'd kick the tires on that for sure

That would seem like a fair estimate, and that's well out of our price range for a WR.

Probably right.
What is a cheap for his name? $1M

Interesting idea from the perspective of we don't know whether McVay would entertain such a thing. McVay at points during that 2019 season was really pissed at Cooks (he didn't seem to be full effort on occasion and had his head up his ass at times too) so I would think that ship has sailed but maybe not.

If Houston releases Cooks one year after giving up a second round pick, that’s a bad look.

Just for that reason, I don’t see it happening. Plus, if they lose Fuller to free agency, they are thin at WR.

Yeah I would steer clear of the FA wideouts this year. I think I'd draft one at some point in April.

The quality in FA at least at this early stage seems to be on OL for us. And we don't have a lot of long-term capital tied up in the line when you consider that Whit is short term and Hav may be moved and even if he's not his contract is not too bad.

There is NO way to replace Jake McQuaide!
Remember you said that when the next Long Snapper fumbles or mis- snaps the ball or allows somebody unimpeded to the punter.

I get what you're saying in a way but I respect the HELL out of what Jake McQuaide has done for us over the years.

He's been almost flawless.
