I think he's the one guy who makes perfect sense. We just have to hope he's in shape. Doesn't cost us a comp pick. Has been one of the NFL's best run blocking OGs and is also a good pass protector. Because he sat the year out, he likely won't have the market that Thuney and Scherff do. I'm thinking we could land him on a 1 year deal worth up to $10 million (with incentives). Pay him a nearly guaranteed $7 million with a nice signing bonus. Spread the signing bonus over three years like we did with Floyd to reduce the cost. It would be like getting Saffold back.
Lemme get Wolford at 1 guard spot Corbett to center and Jackson Carman at the other guard spot.

Seems unnecessary to me. Edwards is a good LG. I'd be very happy with Edwards-Corbett-Warford on the interior. Use our second to grab Whit's replacement if the right guy is available.

That makes sense too. I’m just high on Carman.

Gotta have Williams.
Nice to have Fox, Mundt and Floyd (depending on $$$).
Everyone else on the list either gonna get too much $$$ or we don’t really need.

We'll put a first or second round tender on Williams, and he'll stay. I'd let Hill walk. We can't afford JJ or Floyd imo. Bring back the ERFAs. See what Fox's market is. Bring back Mundt at the NFL minimum. Let the others go.

As for other team's FAs, here are my top targets:
1. Larry Warford OG - He won't cost us a comp pick and might be willing to sign for a reasonable one year deal after opting out of the 2020 season. We'll need to make sure he has kept in shape, but he is an OG who went to three straight Pro Bowls over his last three years. Very good player. Would be like getting Saffold back.

2. Preston Smith EDGE - Green Bay may cut him because Gary broke out and they need to save money. Smith is a good all around edge player who had a down year after putting up 12.5 sacks in 2019. He's another guy who might be willing to sign on a reasonable one year deal in hopes of juicing his sack numbers playing across from Donald. He also wouldn't cost us a comp pick.

3. Tyus Bowser EDGE - He would factor into the comp pick formula, but he won't be too expensive. I like his game. Assuming the new DC runs a defense like Staley's, I think Bowser's versatility fits well here and that he could prove to be a real bargain when given a full-time role. Has shown a lot of flashes and is quite athletic.

4. Jon Feliciano OL - He's not on Warford's level, but he's a solid starting OL who can play any of the interior OL spots. He helped solidify the Bills OL and played both RG and C for them. He's a very physical and nasty guy who won't get pushed around like Blythe. He should be reasonably priced, but he will factor into the comp pick formula.

5. Alex Anzalone ILB - Has had durability issues during his career, but he's a big and athletic LB who has played the Sam LB spot for the Saints. I think he'll be rather cheap due to his injury history and not great production, but like Bowser, I think he has a lot of upside in the right scheme. He'll factor into the comp pick formula.

6. Jarrad Davis ILB - He flashed some good things with Detroit, but Patricia wasn't a fan of his. He is fast and hits quite hard, but he has some M2M coverage limitations, isn't the most reliable of tacklers, and can play recklessly. Still, there's a fair bit of upside here if we can get him in the right scheme and role. Should be cheap. He will also factor into the comp pick formula.

7. Kyler Fackrell EDGE - He's a really solid all around player. He isn't a game changer, but he can pick up some sacks if you scheme him into it (assignment sound guy with good athleticism and technique). He can also set the edge and drop into coverage. Fits well if we keep a scheme like Staley's. Should be relatively cheap but will factor into the comp pick formula.

8. Benardrick McKinney ILB - The Texans may cut him to save on cap. Coming off a shoulder injury, I think we could land him on a reasonable one year deal. He's a massive man who defends the run extremely well and can drop into zone coverage effectively. Has M2M limitations. Good fit in a scheme like Staley's. He won't factor into the comp pick formula.

Those are some guys off the top of my head that could make sense for us. Obviously, we'd only sign one to three of these guys, not all of them.

Let me add two more guys to this list:
9. Sammy Watkins WR - After three mediocre years with the Chiefs and plenty of injuries, I wonder what Watkins will cost. If he can be had on a cheap one year deal, I wonder if we might see a reunion. If he gets injured (as he always does), we still have three other legit WRs (Kupp, Woods, and Van). But he'd offer us deep speed in our WR rotation, knows McVay, and knows the system fairly well.

10. Forrest Lamp OL - I doubt this happens because I think we'll be looking for somebody established if we go for an OL in FA, but if we do look in the bargain basement, Lamp intrigues me. His first few years were injury plagued in the NFL. He played every snap this year, and the results weren't great. I loved this guy as a prospect, and I do wonder if a better team and better health could get his career back on track.

O-line, o-line, o-line. I understood, albeit with great skepticism, the plan last year. Lots of young players at the position so let's see how they develop and what we have in house. Well, it is clear now that although we do have some useful pieces, we lack any blue chippers, and this group needs to be supplemented. If Snead and McVay ignore o-line again they should be fired. It's that egregious of an error. You win and lose in the trenches. Not every move will work out. But at least try and fix the problem. Last off-seson, we did nothing.

I'm far less concerned about edge than the o-line. The Donald effect should mask a lot. There will always be reclamation projects like Fowler and Floyd out there. I'd sign Floyd if feasible though. He seals the edge well, which is surprisingly hard to find. Unlike sacks snd pressures, that is something playing alongside Donald won't necessarily assist with, and which we might well struggle to replace.

I badly want a WR1. I think our offense would be so damn good if we just had a reciever who can consistently beat CB1s and requires a double team. I hope we sign Allen Robinson, Kenny Galladay, trade for Julio, trade for Odell, or sign Will fuller.

I'm trying really hard not to fall in love with potential, but injured types (hello danario Alexander) but , for as well as Lewis looks when he plays, he's always banged up.

I did a quick check of a salary cap site, and it has Woods with a 2021 cap hit of just under $14M, with Kupp over $14M.

Don’t see a big-$ WR free agent or trade addition.

Then we're in trouble because our receivers have reached their ceilings in terms of what they're being asked to do. And jefferson is a clone of them both so he's not gonna add that playmaking element that Mcvay just admitted they lost when they traded cost (in his exit interview)

They may be able to find a stretch-the-field/speed option in the Draft or via a mid-level free agent signing. However, expensive free agent or trade options don’t seem realistic.

I could be wrong.
Would not be the first time ... today.

Hahaha I hope so. They badly need an explosive receiver.

The Rams are in a great position, trade-wise at the WR spot. With Kupp always having some type of injury that may come up and Van Jefferson matching skill set this is similar to Woods and Kupp, I think the Rams have the asset to trade Kupp and package him for a move up in the draft.

And with the move up in the draft, they will use it on a shifty, speed demon that will burn most FS and Corners so the Rams can assess JG16 for another year with the WR provided. Also, Rams will draft a true Center to stabilize that interior because Blythe is not getting it done.

Trent Williams was kind of a bust in San Fran, might he be on the street?
Read a quote he wants to get paid. Never spent time on the free agent market. LTs are hard to find, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he gets over paid for his services. Not my opinion, just what I read.

I noticed on Over the Cap that both Woods & Kupp could be traded or released next offseason without much dead money...... a couple Mill and save over $10M. So they were structured for the short term.

Phillip Rivers just retired. One less QB option out there for teams. Not a huge surprise

And a possible option for a team looking to trade a QB. In a be careful of what you wish for sitch, a QB like Goff would absolutely shred it playing behind that line.
I 100% dont want Goff out of town, just saying it could be a landing spot if McVay does
