Yeah straight up; No way I could eat that octopus.

:D
That looks like some Bear Gryliis desperation food. It would be a tough choice between octopus and Madagascar hissing cockroaches as to which is nastier...

Shit, that’s not what I meant: I meant I’d rather have the octopus, because there’s no way in fucking hell I’m eating cockroaches.

You'd really have to try it. Maybe try just one roasted tenacle rather than the whole animal. It truly is excellent if done right. Otherwise it can be like chewing rubber.

Same with squid- delicious if cooked properly.

Yup. And scallops too. I remember the first time I cooked scallops. I had bought some huge dry packed 8u scallops and seared them too long. They were like hard rubber hockey pucks. Oopsie!

Gordon Ramsey would’ve had an aneurysm if he saw that. And now look at where you are in life! Always look at the positives, even in your biggest failures; it gives you the hope to do better next time.

Scallops are delicious raw, too. I’ve had them in both carpaccio and ceviche dishes- thinly sliced, of course.

My wife and I went to sushi last night and had some scallop nigiri. I actually like a lot of seafood better raw than cooked.

A question for my fellow foodies: is Popeye’s any good?

They’re opening a new restaurant in South London, so wondered what your opinions were. Worth a trip, or not?

Popeyes chicken and biscuits (although they are not biscuits at all). There is one in Romford, not that I’ve ever been which isn’t very helpful.

It's what we call a Fast Food restaurant so don't expect anything special. It's a franchise though so it should be consistent from Popeyes to Popeyes.

The spicy fried chicken is pretty damn tasty. Their biscuits are good too but I believe you guys refer to them as scones. It's not a British biscuit.

Honestly, it's fast food chicken, but spicy. I'd definitely eat it (I don't have the money to go to all those fancy restaurants.), but you may think otherwise.

Honestly, best fried chicken I've ever had is in downtown St. Louis at a place called Hodak's. Really good fried chicken, amazing frog legs (I get the frog legs every time, haha.), solid fish.

I like Popeyes. I prefer the spicy and it’s not very spicy, IMO. Most would find it acceptable level of spice.

Well... what did you think ?
Absolutely delicious. By far and away the best chicken burger I’ve ever had.

The Cajun fries were also very good and the Lotus Biscoff milkshake outstanding. I ordered a biscuit, too, but haven’t got around to it yet.
