I think we remember the promise of Carson Wentz, more than the reality of him. Pederson's scheme suited a more durablke version of Wentz. The NFL fauned over him and loved to contrast him with the pathetic Jared Goff. "Rams screwed up." they said. As the season wore on, Snead disappeared from view and Fisher looked more and more isolated. The season tanked and then Fisher threw Goff to the wolves, hoping for a miracle that would save his job. and no miracle was coming. I think that last self-pitying goodbye by Fisher was his worst moment as a professional coach.

In any case, we all chose to forget his injury history (Wentz's) from college. The talking heads never forgave Goff for doing well the next year, never giving him credit and only crediting Sean McVay. McVay deserved credit, but Goff deserved more than he ever received as we all waited the return, breathlessly, for Carson the Great to return He never did, of course.
Good capture of that Fisher move with Goff. Fisher told Jared we’re gonna run it up the middle twice and then you find Tavon or Kenny. Work you magic kid.

It was pathetic.

But thanks! You've lost so much credibility for assessing QBs logically I'll bow out here.
I surely dont want "credibility" from someone who thinks a QB with 1 completed pass, an 0-1 record and 39.6 QB rating in the playoffs is comparable to a QB who has 2 playoff wins and SB appearance.
That's some alt universe type thinking there, you keep on keeping on yeah?

ya know, thought about that last night. I'm not sure about the salary cap ramifications tho. Which team would be on the hook for his 60 mill over the next 2-3 years?
Eagles
Maybe we can make room on the Practice squad for him?

I still think Wentz will land somewhere he can bounce back. A scenario like this would be ideal.

He's not going anywhere. Pederson is or if Wentz isn't back under center next week, as Jrry32 said, Pederson has to be fired.

Obviously Wentz has a lot worse WRs, RBs, OL, and coaching than the Rams have. Thinking a change of scenery may do him good. Get him into a favorable environment and make a final assessment. No QB plays good the last 2 years with the crap the Eagles have had, including injuries.

He's always had Zach Ertz, one of the best tight ends in the NFL. They got him the best RB he's had in Sanders last year. Jeffery is old and slow, though he's never been a burner. Goedert is a good TE. Their mistake was letting Agholar walk (16.2 avg, 6 TD with LV) because they are terrible at drafting WRs. Jordan Matthews, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, etc. They may have found a gem in Travis Fulgham (drafted in the 6th by Detroit in 2019) though. Their offense and Wentz have always had Ertz but he's got weapons. The coaching? They got to a SB but that was with Reich.

My bet is he's back in 2021 and Pederson is not.

They better strike while the iron is hot. Brian Daboll from Buffalo. 11 years with New England (2000-2006; 2013-2016) and what owner doesn't like a guy who's spent years in New England? Especially with Flores success in Miami, Judge doing good with NYG and Vrable in Tenn, even though MV never coached a day for Belichick. Daboll is the hot OC in the NFL. If the Eagles don't hire him, somebody else will.....Detroit, Houston, *the Chargers*, Atlanta???

I just can't believe that any Rams fan after later half Bulger, then Bradford, Clemens, Davis, Hill, Foles and Keenum, wouldn't be ESTATIC to have Goff and keep talking about or pining after other QBs, makes no sense to me

These two will always be tied together. Just like how Andrew Luck/Robert Griffin, Jameis Winston/Marcus Mariota, etc. were.

I don't think anyone is really pining for another QB, just showing its not all Carson Wentz's fault over there. If you really dissect it, the Eagles haven't been run very well since 2018.

Wentz has had a horrible season. But, to ignore his circumstances seems a bit unfair.

LT Andre Dilliard - 2019 1st Rounder biceps injury out for season
RG Brandon Brooks - Tore Achilles out for season
LG Isaac Seumalo - Just gettng back after missing most of the season with a knee injury.
RT Lane Johnson - Hobbled into season with ankle injury and lasted only 7 games.
TE Zach Ertz - His Security Blanket has missed 5 games and been a shell of himself for a couple.
WR Alshon Jeffrey - Just back from Lisfranc Surgery and was already declining.
WR DeSean Jackson - Team counted on this 34 year old who only been available for 4 games.

And to top if off, his head coach doesn't seem to be putting him in the best position to be successful.

Has any other QB in history have 4/5 of his starting OLine and targets miss so much time before?

Yeah unfortunately they will and I'm not necessarily talking about people here, thinking about the forum I left where Wentz was talked about 5 times more than Goff and the people who liked Goff were constantly chastised. I do see plenty of people here though who don't appreciate our QB as much as he deserves

Well, we'll see about that. Foles made it work when he played with the same team, got them a SB ring, made the playoffs the next year.
So if Hurts turns things around they could still win a couple games and even the division.
I've been hearing a lot about how Wentz hasnt gotten along with team mates/coaches, there's more to the game than just physical ability

Could the Colts become a 2021 destination for Carson Wentz?

The thing I'd find surprising about that is how Jacob Eason had been impressing them (allegedly). Still a long way to go, plenty of football left. Certainly the Colts will have a new QB next year, will be interesting to see who it ends up being

And yet people say Goff can only be good with a solid supporting cast and we have people all over the place making excuses for Wentz being atrocious this year. Goff had an OLine play terrible last year and absolutely no running game to rely on yet he wasn't anywhere near Wentz level of failure.

Heard I think Dan Patrick on the radio first make the connection of Wentz to Indy in the off season and it makes a lot of sense. Only see it happening though if Reich can convince the GM he would be able to redeem Wentz and make it work.

You really don't get this do you? Wentz is on the East Coast with the Eagles, Goff on the left coast with the Rams...There will always be an East Coast bias based on weather alone.

Practically, the East Coast is East of the Rockies now that St Louis doesn't have a team. You'll still be an East Coast Rams fan in the heart of El Paso, den....or wherever in the Lonsestar state you live!

I'm more talking about fans than I am media though I guess lemmings will follow along with their sports media as well as any other media.

Could the Colts become a 2021 destination for Carson Wentz?

I think we may need a new thread to discuss that. Since this one is full of unnecessary defense of Goff being selected over him (Goff was clearly the right pick) as well as unearthing of all the old who was for who fucking bullshit. We could relabel this one the "Unnecessary Goff vs Wentz Bullshit Arguments" and let people get all stupid over meaningless shit.

Re: that potential trade... I think it would be extremely shrewd for the Colts for a few reasons. First Wentz had his best window under Reich and the two know each other well. Second they would be buying low on a very talented young QB. Third the Colts do a good job balancing their attack with the ground game and have an excellent OL.

And for the record lest someone shit themselves that I referred to Wentz as a talented young QB this isn't about Goff in any way shape or form for me. Before that draft I liked both QBs but preferred Goff. Still do. But I also am not such a fucking homer that I feel the need to defend the choice when it's not necessary. This could end up being a great move for Indy and one that could make the Eagles look really fucking stupid IMO.
