I don't think you are.

However, there's no way they win the Super Bowl without him so it does beg the question: how much is one Super Bowl win worth? Hopefully we win at least one and this won't be a discussion.
The won the Super Bowl without him, they may not have gotten there without him but they won the biggest game of the year without him.

Pederson might be on the hot seat too, which is hard to believe. I would think he had a lifetime pass after bringing them a title.

When we were considering who to draft, I wanted Goff because to me he seemed just a better fit for the Rams and I saw him being tougher physically and mentally, I was laughed at for thinking that. My main fear watching film on Wentz, I was afraid I was seeing a Bradford 2.0 and I didn't want that, well...

I'm really glad we went with Goff

How have they not had comparable years? Prior to this season there's a legitimate case to be made that Wentz was having the better career.

Wentz himself has never won a playoff game, but he was a huge reason why they came into LA and beat us in 2017 which is ultimately why they got home field and won the Super Bowl. We can take that away from Wentz, but I doubt they get home field without his MVP level season, and without that they don't win the Super Bowl IMO.

I'd much rather have Goff, but I would love more fans to be, well, not hypocritical. Wentz is struggling but his supporting cast has been absolute garbage. I'm fine putting that on the QB because of how much they get paid, but when you do that on this board it doesn't go well.

He definitely was not a let down the year they won the Super Bowl - his injury happened, sure, but it was his play prior to that that helped get them to 13-3.
They're not comparable careers.
1 guy hasnt missed a game due to injury since he got his first start, and took his team to the Super Bowl
The other guy just got benched

They're still comparable. Wentz had a better season last year statistically and both teams finished 9-7. Wentz was better in 2017, Goff better in 2018. Just because one guy gets injured doesn't mean they're not comparable.

And, like I said before, he led the Eagles for most of the regular season their Super Bowl year - he would have been the league MVP - they don't win it all without him.

How are they comparable? Josh McCown has played more playoff football than Wentz. Like the old adage says, you cant help the club from the tub
Goff has 1,000 yards in playoffs with 2 TD's, 2 post season wins and 1 SB appearance.
Compare that to Wentz

They won 2 games down the stretch with Foles and all 3 playoff games. Wentz didnt lead them anywhere

The same can be said for Nick Foles. You don't know that Wentz would have won the Iggles the Super Bowl, just as I don't know that he wouldn't. The variables change if Wentz doesn't get hurt that season and that changes everything in the long run. I said it at the time, that it would eat me alive if I was him, because this might have been his only shot to ever lead a team to Super Bowl and win it. Dan Marino was one of the best QB's ever and he only participated in one Super Bowl loss and that was it for him.

Because they both play QB, last season both went 9-7, and both won zero playoff games.

Wentz was a huge reason they got their Super Bowl ring - I wouldn't trade Goff for Wentz right now but I'd trade our playoff success for theirs since Wentz was drafted.

He had nothing to do with the Super Bowl ring, zippo
Foles brought the team back to beat the Rams, then won 2 more reg season games before the 3 game run to the SB.
Then the Eagles dont make the playoffs in 2018 unless Wentz taps out, Foles takes over and leads them to 4-1 record and an upset of Chicago
Wentz has no playoff success, he has 2 3 and outs in the playoffs to his name. And Goff has 2 wins.
You're willing to make that trade?

I think we remember the promise of Carson Wentz, more than the reality of him. Pederson's scheme suited a more durablke version of Wentz. The NFL fauned over him and loved to contrast him with the pathetic Jared Goff. "Rams screwed up." they said. As the season wore on, Snead disappeared from view and Fisher looked more and more isolated. The season tanked and then Fisher threw Goff to the wolves, hoping for a miracle that would save his job. and no miracle was coming. I think that last self-pitying goodbye by Fisher was his worst moment as a professional coach.

In any case, we all chose to forget his injury history (Wentz's) from college. The talking heads never forgave Goff for doing well the next year, never giving him credit and only crediting Sean McVay. McVay deserved credit, but Goff deserved more than he ever received as we all waited the return, breathlessly, for Carson the Great to return He never did, of course.

I think people over value stats and underestimate the value of an Oline and surrounding talent for a QB.

Wentz had an MVP season when he had a top Oline with multiple established Pro Bowl lineman and several solid Wr's along with Zach Ertz. Foles stepped into that same group and did the same as Wentz. Now they both are behind garabage O-lines with near zero skill players around them. So both suck now. It's a team game. Foles has had great years with Andy Reid and great talent and also in his latest Eagles SB run. But he sucked on the Rams and with Chicago right now. Do you guys really think QB's just forget how to play or decide to stop preparing every week, or turn into party animals? Come on man. They lose talent around them.

Same thing with Lamar Jackson. How did he go from MVP to only managing 107 yards vs the worst defense in the league? He lost key Olineman.

Same with Goff last year with a decimated Oline.

The other thing, Wentz throwing all off target can very well be due to the fact that he is getting killed every other play and is rushing throws. It's very common, doesn't mean he can't throw necessarily.

QB's having bad and good years is very common. If there is no major surrounding talent issue then look at the QB, otherwise consider the context.

Just my 2 cents.

The Eagles are 35-32-1 with Wentz under center. They're 10-3 without him under center.....6-2 in the regular season, 4-1 in the PS. There's a statue outside the Linc in Philly for the "Philly Special". It's Pederson giving the play to Foles!!! What a bad existence in Philly. Headed for MVP in year two, miss the Superbowl. Watch the unveiling of a statue with your replacement. Have to deal with comments from ex-team mates that you're self centered, 'it's all about you'. Have the guy in statue take over a 5-6 team after you're injured again and take them to the playoffs. The next year, get to the playoffs and get injured AGAIN (3rd time) after going 1 of 4 for 3 yards. Then get benched the next year for a rookie running QB. There's one good thing to say.....with a career like that, you don't need to play for the Jets to have a crap career.
