Actually they have their full complement of draft picks in rounds 1-7 and 3 additional comp picks TBD.Iirc their draft picks next year are limited. First second then a fifth sixth and seventh

I wouldn't say no way if the picks aren't super high picks. I believe he'll be a great add but the chances of it happening doesn't feel great to me. Who knows, I just enjoy discussing this kinda stuff. No way that the Rams would be remotely interested in a trade for a player that you would have to give up picks for and then sign to a huge contract. Taylor got used and abused in college and now after 4 years in Indy he’s showing his true wear a tear. He is like a shining sports car with 200,000 miles on the odometer. Hell no.
Top 5 back is a subjective (select stats) and relative (competition) affirmation. But to your point if Akers lasts the season, gains 1200+ yards rushing, makes 40+ receptions and becomes a weapon at the goal line, he will have achieved the success needed for this year.I think Akers came to camp with a different mindset. He bulked up. Intentionally. Not because he came in out of shape. He does have the skill to be a top 5 back. The way I see it, if he's ever gonna have that break out season this would be the time for it. I think they want to see if he will. He's going to be a RFA after the season. So they can have him for another season if they want him. No reason not to give him a shot.
We have yet to see him play a full season at a top level. Until he does that he’s nowhere near a top five back.I think Akers came to camp with a different mindset. He bulked up. Intentionally. That’s a big if, and then he’ll likely want a big extension. One year of production is risky.Top 5 back is a subjective (select stats) and relative (competition) affirmation. Akers hasn't even gotten close to 1000 yards nor lasted a full season. I doubt he's even in our future beyond 24. Unfortunately I feel a lot of these predictions also come from our homerism as fans. I pray I'm wrong here and he balls the hell out.Top 5 back is a subjective (select stats) and relative (competition) affirmation. Miami would be a great fit given that their OC will make running the ball a priority. I'd like to see him land there.Heard a rumor that Miami is kicking the tires on trading for him. With Tua on a rookie deal they've got cap space and the assets to get it done
Really think after they traded for Jalen and whatnot that they are all in on this year. If that's the case Taylor may make some sense there.....

Agreed. I have convinced myself that Akers will have a career season and there's a good chance that happens I think. But RB has been a pain in the ass for us since Gurley hung them up. I keep hearing Taylor knocked for his mileage and I knocked him for it too when he came out but he produces.Akers hasn't even gotten close to 1000 yards nor lasted a full season. Trust me when I say that I'm okay with the homerism because I'm sure we've all done it to some degree. I know I have. Any route the Rams go its always full of good or bad outcomes. Yeah man, Gurley was our last top notch back and we've been fairly blessed as a franchise to have such bad ass running backs. Hopefully we get back to that sooner than later. I agree with that it is more unlikely we even get Taylor on our squad. He's an improvement for sure but dam circumstances also play a huge role hahahaMiami would be a great fit given that their OC will make running the ball a priority. I'd like to see him land there.

This has very little chance to go our way but it would be nice if the rest of the NFL teams see him the way many here do. That would mean maybe we have an opportunity to get him on the cheap. So hopeful though obviously we won't be in the running for him.
Akers had 786 yards in 2022 in 15 games. He led all NFL running backs in rushing yards over his last 5 games. He had some non injury issues early in the season that kept him inactive but responded with his best stretch since before his Achilles injury. Averaged 115 yards rushing the last 3 games. He’s going to get over a 1000 this season. Guaranteed! But maybe I’m a Homerish fan that knows the stats. Debbie Downers Don’t like that type.Akers hasn't even gotten close to 1000 yards nor lasted a full season. I doubt he's even in our future beyond 24. He's 0-3 in that department. I'll believe it when I see it. I hope you're right tho.Akers had 786 yards in 2022 in 15 games. He led all NFL running backs in rushing yards over his last 5 games. He’s a restricted free agent because he missed the entire regular season in 2021 with a non football injury. ( Achilles while working out on his own) He returned for the playoffs and Super Bowl but that doesn’t count in his vesting. He’s not eligible for unrestricted free agency until after next season. That’s a big if, and then he’ll likely want a big extension. And of course I hope you’re wrong. But I’m a Homer right! He's 0-3 in that department. I'll believe it when I see it. I hope you're right tho.
Of course you are, but honestly, I think we are all at varying degrees. I become more Homer when the games beginAnd of course I hope you’re wrong. But I’m a Homer right!
Nope, they forfeited their 3rd and sent their 4th for Chubb so a 1 2 5 6 and 7 before comp picksActually they have their full complement of draft picks in rounds 1-7 and 3 additional comp picks TBD.
Not sure if we’re talking about the same team but my response was related to the Los Angeles Rams who have their own picks in rounds 1-5 Denver’s 6th round pick and their own 7 th along with a potential 3 comp picks. In reference to Chubb I’m guessing you’re talking about Miami. Just clarifying.Nope, they forfeited their 3rd and sent their 4th for Chubb so a 1 2 5 6 and 7 before comp picks

You quoted me talking about the Dolphins. No but that may not stop him from holding out if he does great this year and wants an extension. He’s a restricted free agent because he missed the entire regular season in 2021 with a non football injury.
