We looked weak. Physically weak.

It was one of these games where I knew we were going to be in for a damn hard game from the first drive, and I knew we were (likely) gonna lose after their 3rd drive. We just had no answer for their tactics...and our O clearly wasn't executing well enough.

The good news is, they are beatable. The bad news is, they (and similar offenses) seem to have our number. For now.

Well Mcvay is always about improvements and such.
So a few improvements I would hope to see after this shitshow:

  • Tackle better. To the dam whistle. Bring the man down. I was embarrassed to see Mostert churn out 3-4 yards every play in the first half vs multiple men much bigger then him.
  • Better coverage in the middle of the field. The soft zones are killing us.
  • Young gots to go. Dude is just killing us. Time to try anyone else.
  • Malcolm Brown on short yardage only. Run the dam ball at the goaline. But Akers and Henderson need to carry the rest of the load. Akers needs to be your third down outlet. Brown has shown two games in a row his inability to get an easy first down in space on the short pass.
  • Sloman needs to go.
  • The drops by our WR's was really uncharacteristic. Not much you can do there I guess.
  • Stop with the goaline play design that have two WR's in the same spot. It's a recipe for an interception.

So glad I didn’t sit up till 4 am watching that shit show ... god I missed reeder out there (words no ram fan would thought they would say )

I said it in the prediction thread ... that they only team that will beat the rams will be the rams and we whipped our asses

Eh, we are what we are. I'm just glad the Whiners are too banged up to go anywhere this year but good enough to miss out on a top ten pick. I'm still verbally fighting it out with these niners retard fans about which jg is better. I mean, Goff was off today but he threw some incomplete passes down the sideline that slipping jimmy couldn't hope to connect with in his wildest dreams.

How about firing Staley and bringing back Wade for the rest of the year only. He knows the personnel and the players know his scheme. I'm telling you that if Wade was still DC we would be undefeated. How many times did we see the opposition in 3rd and super long get converted under Wade? It's becoming routine with Staley. Same thing with late drives by the opposition. They happened but they were rare. Under Staley it's routine. The worst part is that those 3rd down conversions were not by penalties.

Or better yet hire John Pagano as DC. He's the one that taught Wade how to play the 3-4 and he's the brother of Chuck who installed the aggressive D system that Baltimore still uses. His half-time adjustments were at times nothing short of brilliant. I've seen him shut down top offenses playing with a fraction of the talent Staley has. You want Super Bowls then you have to have a DC that is capable of whipping the players into shape to play to that level. Staley's "good enough" attitude is corrosive and infectious leading to sloppy play.

Even to my eye, it appeared that Kiser was not ready to play. He was brought back to early. I'm not liking this type of thinking from McVay. Either 100% or play to your depth. A 100% Reeder is better than a 75% Kiser.

How players execute, with precision or sloppy is a direct reflection of the level of coaching they have received. Does anyone think that the Rams win the NFC Championship game against the Aints with Staley's prevent all game long? That game was won because the defense stayed aggressive all game long. Brees will eat Staley's lunch.

Okay, next week we face Chicago. Foles is a journeyman QB nothing more. But he will be very happy to feast upon uncontested short passes to dink and dunk his way to victory while keeping Goff on the sidelines. The Bear's strength is their defense which is far better than the Niners. The Ram offense will struggle to put up points so it's imperative that Staley not play his idiotic scheme or the Rams will get blown out.

Like with Sloman, how many losses will it take before McVay admits the experiment has failed with both Staley and Sloman. If he won't cut Sloman and sign MacGinnis you know he won't fire Staley. Instead, he will make like Staley is the best DC in the NFL. It's only game 6 and I'm feeling like I'm watching a slow train wreck. I'm no genius coach but I can see what's happening clearly and it makes me sick.

It's going to take Snead intervening to save this slowly leaking ship. I have had enough of Staley's NO BALLS scheme.

Venting =/= abandoning your team after one game. But to each their own i guess
I guess I just missed it. I see print being upset and being a little irrational but that's what the vent thread is for. Creating a release for that built up pressure. They'll ask be back next week.

Lose a shocker to Arizona in home opener

Lose horribly at home to philly

Totally embarrassed at home by Miami

Get right game hosting rams

This game showed how bad the nfc east really is

Fred Warner was playing out of his mind. They should drug test him for roids or DNA test him because he might be Superman's relative. He swarmed across the field reading plays as if his life depended on it. Bravo to him.

Mostert too.

Somehow the whole 9ers team was stronger, faster, meaner.... like all they did was plan for this one game and then freebase crack and inject roids in each other's butts.

Didn't the Eagles just make it a game against the Ravens? And got it close with the Steelers the week before? And the Cowboys lost by 7 to the Seahags. I also think the Giants are way better than their record indicates. Washington is Washington.

Teams change from week to week, especially this early in the season.

If I had some things to vent about this game, it'd be McVay's inability to show up during prime time games, our sorry excuse for a linebacker corps and Sloman-- I have zero confidence in that dude making any kick. Hasn't he missed one in every game this season?

bad feeling about this year. these are all things that were talked about before the season started. who thinks the rams can beat chicago? I do not think they will. go rams.

Did anyone notice Donald wasn't winning on a 1 on 1, that RG guard handled him by himself?

The Staley defense, knowing they were throwing the ball quick not playing press boggles my mind.

You have to contest Kittles catching the ball, he thrives on yards after the catch.

The over pursuit is infuriating, when you have a man that's already pursuing to the outside, why do you run tot he outside and allow a cutback. Seriously, change your angle and make that the tackle. Oh yeah, and actually wrap up and tackle. Just hitting a guy with your shoulder or hip doesn't necessarily bring a guy down.

Woods and Kupp will be back...just a bad night for them and not close to who they are game to game.

Everything can be corrected here.

I know Goff didn’t play amazing, but he did enough to win the game. His pocket presence has improved dramatically. The receivers were fucking shit. We don’t have anyone who can just go up and get it for Goff. That TD to Reynolds was the first time I’ve seen a receiver make a play on the ball while being tightly covered maybe since Kenny Britt. The run defense, yet again, for the 19th year in a row, let us down. We need to draft a fucking linebacker. I’ve been asking for 10 years.
Umm...Woody's first TD? He could've have worked back for that one deep ball but he lay's it on the line every time. I know you're talking about 50/50 jump balls but that's not really a necessity. Only Kelce on the Chiefs can do that...and Higbee and Everett can do the same for us.

I think this was the first time the 9ers were completely healthy on offense all season. There's no tape on them and they caught us off guard.

I'm pissed we weren't prepared for this. I was looking forward to reading whiner complaints today.

This drives me crazy too and it seems like we've had players who do this for years now. They all either follow each other instead of plugging lanes or they all pile up behind the d-line instead of hanging back and covering angles.
