My question then becomes, why was I more emotional about this game than the team. Granted I have 15 +years in the blue and yellow on most of the players, but damn!
To be blunt - no fricken clue.

This was a divisional game that they should have been sky high for but for some reason they came out completely emotionally flat.

They weren't tired. I think what people are looking for is that the Rams played without any emotion tonight. They were flat that first half. Second half - a little better - but still nothing to write home about.

But the game plan from Staley was horrible in the first half.

Grabmyass didn't throw but two passes beyond 5 yards the first half.
Mcvay needs to steal some of shannahan's short passes. Our screens get blown up but there's were my money tonight.

The moment the graphic came up on the screen that we had run it 12 times in a row to get us to the 1 was the moment I knew a pass and interception was coming. The stars were aligning all evening for shitty things to happen that game - it almost felt fitting. And that’s exactly what happened because McVay thinks he’s smarter than...himself?..and goes away from what got him there in the first place. Just completely inexplicable. THAT’S the fuckin’ play you put Malcolm Brown in and punch it up the gut.

This is just one example of how we lost this game due to coaching. Like I had said earlier, plenty to go around but shit like this just infuriates me because it makes NO sense.

When I saw Goff miss a wide open Kupp on the second pass play, I went uh oh.

It seems like when Goff misses a wide open player early in the game, it usually means he is off that day and we usually end up losing.

At least that's what it seems to me.

i thinks it's obvious what happened.

his girlfriend must have really fucked his brains out on his birthday and his legs were still weak. it has to be the reason he was off tonight on a few throws with no pressure.

They're not that good, we made them look good tonight..What do you think they do against us with Bosa, Dee Ford, Kwan Alexander and Sherman starting?? Goff wasn't under any pressure tonight and he still played bad. Cooper with a huge, huge drop that hurt us. Just sloppy..but the defense came out and gave us a shot in the 2nd half. This one is on the O without a doubt.

We haven't beat a good team yet this year so I'll believe this team is real when I see it. The 2nd half of Buffalo is the best we've looked but inconsistency doesn't work in this league.
no they are good, I'm just going to disagree with you on this one. When the season is over we can see who's right

Poor execution all around. Andrew Whitworth of all people taking costly penalties. Goff looking spotty all night. Kupp playing by far his worst game as a Ram - I never thought he'd miss two catches for TDs in the same game. Embarrassing tackling by our defence. Sloman missing an extra point. All in all, a pretty pathetic performance. The 49ers clearly wanted it more tonight. Despite that, given their injuries, the Rams have no excuse not to have came away with the W.

Sloman needs to be cut. You can't miss an easy FG and/or extra point every single game. I don't want to hear about Sloman being young and needing patience. The Rams are supposed to be a contender. We need a kicker that can be competent *today*. We don't have time to let Sloman learn on the job. We had that luxury with GZ because when he was drafted, the Rams were years away from doing anything. This kicking fiasco will cost us games. And it's on McVay.

Speaking with McVay... another subpar coaching performance on his end. Complete with his patented brutal time-out usage. I suspect a high-school student could manage the Rams' timeouts better. In the best interest of the team, McVay needs to delegate time-outs to an assistant. ASAP. It has been several years now. He is not going to learn. I'm not even sure he wants to - this is not the type of problem that should persist for years.

Throwing twice on the goal line when the entire drive was Henderson running the ball (7 plays to 0!) to great effect? Why? It's even stranger as the plan was to go for it on 4th down. And that failing to score with a run pins the 49er deep. Pass-happy-McVay at it again.

As much as it pains me to say it, Kyle Shanahan is a better coach than McVacy. We saw that tonight, and we've seen it regularly recently. Every head-to-head match-up, Shanahan schools McVay. Our recent wins over the 49ers mostly came when they had no talent. And before I sound too harsh on McVay, I actually like him. I think he has some flaws that are arguably fatal. But I cannot think of more than a handful of coaches I'd take over him, so I don't advocate for a change. I don't think we'd have much luck finding an upgrade.

Malcolm Brown is a solid addition to the RB room but needs to be firmly behind Henderson and Akers. I am unsure if Akers is truly back to 100%. If he is, the RB usage was troubling.

Still way too early to tell, but so far, our first two 2020 draft picks seem as if they would have been better spent on the defensive side of the ball...

I am still not sure what to think of Staley. His halftime adjustments have been solid. And new schemes take time to learn. But his coverage is way too soft, the run defence is atrocious, and the tackling is embarrassing. I do not think he is maximising Ramsey's talents, either. Time will tell.

I am luke-warm on the 2020 Rams thus far. Games like this happen. We arguably should have been undefeated coming into tonight, but for a bogus PI call vs. Buffalo. And divisional games are always unpredictable. As bad as we played tonight, some better execution and we likely come out on top On the other hand, we've yet to beat a a quality opponent, and this team appears to have some serious flaws. I could see 8-8 or 9-7 as much as I could 12-4. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I think it's more about the Niners knowing this was their season. I said earlier I didn't like the must win/embarrassed last week aspect of this game.

Not sure the Rams were flat on D early. I think the Niners just came out and took it to them.

You see this all the time. The more desperate team steps up and their D is still legit.

What is disappointing is that the Niners cooled off sbd the Rams just failed to take advantage. Should have scored at least 17 second half points to force the Niners to come from behind late.

Again, the lack of a verticle passing game is an issue. Woods and Reynolds got deep so have to do more of that if possible just to keep teams honest.

Worst game that Kupp has ever played as a Ram...pitiful

Goff was off a couple times but he put 2 balls in Kupp’s hands for TD’s, one to Woods that was dropped on a 40 yarder inside the 10...in his f’ing hands.
Couldn‘t catch a cold.

Linebacker is a weakness. Crippled QB that’s going to hand off all day...RB’s at ten yards a carry.
Sack up and play D.

we are not a playoff team yet. thats for sure.
This team is like 2017. This is not a SB team unless they get some big breaks.

They need to develop some of their young guys and hopefully add some more pass rush help on their DL next yr via the draft.

Still a yr or maybe two away from a serious SB run. I mean you can always get hot in the playoffs, but to be a legit #1 or #2 seed type team, they need more help.

Kupp had too many drops tonight (dropped a key 3rd down early and two would-be TDs) but the 49ers had surprisingly good coverage all night. Not sure why we went so pass heavy to start the game. Or abandoned the short passing game. Especially when the D could not get off the field. I thought Goff played well as the game went on. He was getting first downs with his feet, avoiding pressure in the pocket and (without being able to see the all-22) it looked like making smart decisions with the football.

There were definitely some dangerous throws. A comeback route that a CB jumped and corner fade 50/50 ball that had to be thrown.

With all the changes the 49ers made to the roster it looks like this game was difficult to gameplan for.

Absolutely mind blowing that everybody knows on the Whiners 3rd and 6, 3rd and 8, or 3rd and 12 or 3rd and whatever plays only one person is getting targeted. If you don’t know who it is by now reading this it’s that fuckface Kittle and they didn’t do anything special to stop him. Very disappointed in Staley this game.just let him completely screw us.

We need to replace Sloman before he ends our season. Like not now but right now.

We are not a perfect team. Our linebackers are probably the worst in the league. Especially stopping the run and making any sort of play in the middle of the field.

But this game was a perfect storm. If we just caught balls in hands and or didn't actually gave a shit about tackling then we win the game.

We will see them again in a few weeks and I expect a win.

I think Shanahan and the league figured out Mc Vay’s predictability on offense and they have their personnel play the basic defense to take the middle of the field and forces McVay to earn every inches of the field. Rams don’t have the beef on OL and the horses on offense and beef on the defense to stop the run. The Niners are only play 3/4 of their squad and are not completely healthy. What happens if Bosa and the rest of the Niners are fully healthy? The score might be a complete blowout by the Niners.

We're in good shape.

4-2, four road games in five weeks.

Remember: it's usually a curse to be the "it" team during the regular season. Rams and Chiefs in 2018, Ravens and Niners in 2019.

Last year the Chiefs were 4-2, 5-3 and 6-4 - then they didn't lose again. Our last six games are all winnable - four at home, at AZ and at Seattle.

We need to go 1-1 at least in the next two, then beat Seattle before repeating this performance tonight against the Bucs, which would put us at 6-4 going into those last six.

But we can do better if we win the next two, and it starts with the Bears - if we win, were a playoff team.

I lost count of the times i saw the run play develop and thought this will only be a short gain. Then it turned into 8 yards, 10 yards.

Surely mostert isn't that good.
