Do you know that he pounded the table for him to get that extension? I am certain he approved it. But did he push for it?A massive extension for which McVay pounded the table for him to get.

My thoughts exactly man, not like we were rich in options.Do you know that he pounded the table for him to get that extension? I am certain he approved it. But did he push for it?
Demoff's going to have to do a lot of work on the cap. Down $27mil now, add another $22.5 for Goff and then pay Watson his $16mil this year. Seems like a lot of players are going to have to restructure their deals pushing a lot of salary into future years that we'll have no first round picks.Yes, that WOULD surprise me. Too rich, no way.
Now I know I'm not a real fan in your book because I support our starting QB but this doesn't sound like he was against it and he sure seems to be saying Jared deserves an extension.Do you know that he pounded the table for him to get that extension? It really is. The talk years back made me laugh of those here calling Goff and elite QB and then chastising anybody who said anything otherwise. Where are they now? smh.
WE.ARE.THE.RAMS.
If this goes down, we have no future draft for 5 more years, Watson blows one or both of bad ACLs in his first game, we lose McVay and Snead after comfortably going back to our annual 3-13 seasons.
Hard pass.
Don't you put words in my mouth Willis. Never questioned your fanhood let's not do that. Now I know I'm not a real fan in your book because I support our starting QB but this doesn't sound like he was against it and he sure seems to be saying Jared deserves an extension.
I think Russell Wilson is the prototype for the modern smart & tough, scrambling QB who is pass-first but will not hesitate to run if that is the best play option. If Watson plays like Russell (and by all accounts he now does as opposed to his first year or two), injuries like his two earlier ACL issues, become minimized.
At the time of the Blythe signing you gave no hint that you found the move "baffling." In fact, you sure sounded open to it when it was first announced. (And yes, I'm playing the "gotcha" game.)What's baffling is that they thought they could go with Blythe again. His play started declining in 2018 as well (around the same time as Sullivan's), and has been mostly bad since then, save for a few games in 2019 when he took over C (but even then, was no better than average).
Just for the life of me can't understand what they were thinking with that one.
Max as a sports reporter said that a named player (Jalen Ramsey) stated on the record that he has inside info that for Watson, it's Rams or bust. If he was quoting an "unnamed source", he'd have protection, but with a named source? Nope.
Fabricating a story like that is grounds not only to be fired, but to not work in media again. If Ramsey didn't actually say what Max Kellerman reported, he could lose everything and I don't see him risking his career for a single tip on a story that's not even the biggest story because it's right before the Super Bowl.
I agree that they could package picks like our 2nd this year and w/e we get from trading Goff and then 1sts in the next 4 years after that (I do think it's gonna take 4 1sts for the Texans' FO to stop fucking around and just get on with business)
I love it when those that get offended by having your mind open to see multiple paths, not just one, and then they get called out for it, then they try to call out someone for thinking of anything else than the fallacy they are wanting to be true.I love it when fans value the chance to say "SEE? I WAS RIGHT!" over the success of the team and individual players they choose to support.
Tribalism, you say? Hahahaha
We had the option to wait. There was no need to extend Goff right then. Only reason was you thought he was so good that extending him then would save some money later. Whether that was a Snead or McVay (likely both) decision - it was a mistake apparently now due to what they feel about him now. Nobody forced them to extend Goff back in 2019.
same mistake they made several other times too I might add - gurley, Austin, cooks
Again a lot of words when you still haven’t answered my question for all of his gaudy sexy numbers HOW many super bowls has Watson played inExplain to me how a team can get this kind of production out of a QB but still remain atrocious.
Listen, the fact is that if McVay had Watson then Watson would be talked about in the same breath as Mahomes. Do you want a Mahomes level talent at QB on the Rams roster? I know my answer, do you?

A case study we did months ago was the Sam Sloman experiment.
Funny how the band leaders of Sam Sloman is the GOAT kicker and couldn’t see anything but that ended up STFU stonewalled and absolutely wrong but we’re as brazen in the Sloman subject line as this. At least there’s a shit load of smoke in Goff/Watson and people still refusing to say there’s potential for any fire creating it.

But why don’t you tell me why they went 4-12 despite watsons production ...
With all due respect, this is a ridiculous question. Does Deshaun play on a playoff caliber team? Football is a team sport. No QB, no matter how talented can get there by himself. Jared got there in 2018 with a good OL, the NFL's best RB, and a defense led by the NFL's best player. Deshaun does not have anywhere near that level of support. However, place Deshaun and his 2018 talent on that 2018 Super Bowl Horns team, and Deshaun wins league MVP, and we WIN HANDILY- even with an injured Gurley and no Cooper Kupp!!!
Nobody, including myself, is talking about you Memento.Excuse me? I never said anything of the sort. I said not to give up on him because he's a rookie starting in his first few games. I never said that he was the GOAT, and feel free to quote me on that.
