Look he's obviously still very effective, we've seen it this year. Cant hate on a competitor for wanting more touches. This guy is going to the HOF one day. Is he prioritizing chasing a ring? No obviously not. But remember, majority of his contract is incentive based. 75% of the value he can attain comes from snap count and overall production, so we can't be mad at a guy wanting to get another $2-3M. I'm down to start seeing Tutu more. What I love about moving Kenny Y and DJax is opening up snaps and development opportunities for Ernest and Tutu. Its so dumb to use 2nd and 3rd round picks on players and not let them ever see the field.

I agree with you. Thing is, this may turn out to be mutually beneficial for both parties.

DJax wants out but the Rams may want out as well.
Exactly. Given the success of our offense, our depth at receiver, and the small amount of use DJax has been given, the Rams will now certainly see more value in putting his contract money to use on a defensive player if they can.

I remember when we signed him some were not happy with it. They were right. For myself I figured maybe the guy being older and wiser could accept a role where he's challenging a younger guy in Jefferson, pushing him just by being there and mentoring a bit. But I was wrong.

Leopards don't change their spots. And I hate divas so the sooner they move this dude the better.

I hope the Rams know what they are doing.

McVay is holding a press conference right now; and, once again he appears to be holding-back and is being a little cryptic.

He has tried to keep the Jackson comments to a minimum but the media is having nothing to do with it.

Although McVay said this is 'very quickly developing', he then added
'we want to work through a couple things over the next couple days to fully answer your questions'.

I put the above in 'quotes' because I replayed it several times, and those are almost exact quotes.

By-The-Way, he said both Whitworth and Joseph-Day are out for this week.
Yea if we're holding him out of the HOU game, then we are already likely having discussions with a team or two. There are a number of teams that need WR help. I hope we can fetch a 5th for him, but more than likely it will be a 6th.

What exactly has DJax done with the Rams other than be a team player? and now agree with the Rams to a possible trade?

Maybe there is a renewed effort to get Tutu some looks in practice this week following McVay's comments about him and it ticked off DJ? It's certainly a position we can afford to trade for defensive depth if they can find it. But yeah, I wasn't particularly thrilled with the signing to begin with because of his injury history and his general attitude. But I loved the role he's had so far which is exactly what we needed him to be and seemed to be fairly obvious from the beginning that's what his role would be. So still puzzling unless, like I said, they are looking at Tutu being more active. Who knows.

Wtf?

Who wants off a team planning a deep playoff run?

I thought the worst thing about the Kenny Young was how it would affect the locker room. A well-liked guy traded for peanuts. Some guys are probably looking around now wondering if they’ll be next, instead of focusing on the next game. And now someone wants out. I know it’s kind of a reach to connect the two things, but shit. Hopefully the team can remain focused.

This is likely, but I still don't like it. Felt it was good for Atwell to learn from Jackson and come playoff time, I felt Jackson would be a nice asset to have. Again, there could be a trade coming, but all of a sudden we're looking to rookies to replace some proven vets.

Yes there are multiple benefits for us:

-allow DJax to increase snaps and production and hit all incentives in his contract which should net him an additional $3-3.5M

-finally get Tutu on the field and let him develop and help this team

-opens up additional cap space to sign a player at a position of need in the next few days

Is there really any downside to this move? It should be pretty apparent by now that the last few years our lack of down the field throwing wasn't about having a "deep threat," but rather a QB that pushes the ball down the field. Kupp, Woods, VJ, Tutu, Harris all give us plenty of explosive play potential.

If we need to have that conversation then we're going to disagree at the end so let's just take a shortcut to the destination. :clinkingbeer:

I was one of those who voiced displeasure, we already had our starting line-up ready to go, so unless D. Jax was prepared to take a deep back-up role and save himself as play-off insurance due to someone else's injury, his CAP hit seemed an unnecessary expense.
If it was just a matter of snaps, I wonder if we could have used him in the return game, although being such an injury risk, McVay easily could have been afraid to take such a chance.
Hopefully Atwell is ready to step up as WR4.

It was a great time in Rams history.
A Renaissance of sorts.
But, like THE MACARENA Camelot, it ended too quickly.

Los Angeles Rams: The DJax Era.
Tonight on 30 for 30 minutes.
Fixed. :laugh4:
