I thought our DL played great and kept us in the game along with Ramsey. Think about how terrible the secondary would've looked if Jalen wasn't there. Outside of him they have ALL struggled through 5 games this year. D Will's ankle injury scared me at first, but honestly hes been flat out bad this year. We need to see more Rochelle and let him get snaps to develop. Im also tired of Rapp playing deep, its just stupid as fuck. Burgess needs to take over next to Fuller (whos been invisible also) and let Rapp come down and play the 3rd safety in the box in certain packages.

Not downplaying any of that... but our shining rookie star from last year with many of those same attributes and limitations has been almost invisible this year.
Fuller hasn't done anything to impact a game, as far as I can remember. Rapp gets bombed on for all the plays he misses... but some of that is because he's closer to plays, imo. Fuller? I don't even see him on the screen in most plays, it seems.
Fuller could be over thinking. The responsibility of making the calls may be slowing down his football instincts. Also, someone mentioned he played the other Safety position last year. Maybe that plus the play calling?

You simply have to let the defense gel and let the youngsters get some experience.

It's been painful sometimes but it'll come.

Let's not forget Johnson, Brockers, and Hill. Those are huge pieces to lose!!!

Give it time folks!!!
I hope that you're right.

For those of you clamoring for Burgess more luke warm news. McVay and Morris both have been talking as if he's not ready to play for one reason or another and this really isn't a ringing endorsement either. Not sure we see him anytime soon. I'm reading between the lines but this sounds totally like a player issue with ability or learning the defense.

The other part of that tweet

Glad to see the Rams weren't afraid to admit something wasn't working, and pulled Long in favor of Rochell. Even with 2 big mistakes (the PI and the TD) IMHO Rochell looked a lot better out there than Long. Really liked Rochell's pass break-up in the EZ, for example.

Rapp keeps getting burned. Kinda hope we see either Burgess or Hughes get a chance.

Not a surprise when you consider how poorly Rapp fits back there. Scott isn't all that great either though I do appreciate that INT he made. But I mean if Burgess can't beat those guys out in a look that he played a ton of in college, and he is in year two here... Welp that's a wrap.

Wasn't the PI that long pass where if he didn't knock the dude down it was going for a TD? If I'm given the choice between a TD and a PI, I'll take the PI. All that to say, I wouldn't call it a mistake.

Very true but he was out of position to bring it to that choice. Ideally he plays it better and it's not a td or penalty situation. It was a good penalty but not a good play type situation.

I am offended by the word “Demise”

unrealistic to me that this thread still has life in it.

can I get a check from Biden? I am offended after all. Can we have a ralley? Maybe take down a statue or something?

If you can't accept objective reality, perhaps you could try constructing an alternative fantasyland. Kinda like pretending you won when everyone knows you lost-- that sort of thing.

Agree with this, sadly. Saw some of McVay's presser from today. When asked about Burgess, McVay gave only one quick sentence of token praise, and then moved on to a different subject. About Rochell, on the other hand, McVay went on at length, praising his competitiveness and resiliency and toughness.

Really curious what the deal is with Burgess-- wonder whether it's physical or mental. So weird because Burgess really looked like he was coming on last year before the injury.

I thought this thread WAS alternative fantasy land.

But I’ll pretend you didnt you reply, because my post was not serious enough for the reply you gave.

He's been doing similar to that since camp honestly. Not sure what it is but he's not where the coaches want him to be after a very good rookie year.

Im sorry you dont like what I have to say @Memento.

Without going into details, I’ll offer that it does not surprise me in the least that you’re the one with an issue.

Insert “chill’ here. Have at it.
