You know, for the right price, I'd go for J.J. McCarthy. He's not going to be an elite quarterback like Stafford was at his best, but as someone with weapons, he could be great, and we could win Super Bowls with him when Stafford eventually retires.

I don't think there is any way the Vikings let Darnold go. If they do, we cannot afford him. I don't think the Rams will move off Stafford just yet, and we won't be able to carry both of their contracts.

One good season is scary to me.

How many times have we seen teams get burnt by going after a guy from one year?

The Cleveland Browns say hello.

What if Stafford retired and McVay got Aaron Rodgers?

I am not a Rodgers fan. But he knows the offense.

No. Nope. No way. Absolutely not. Fuck no. No fucking way in hell. No to the fucking nope.

Why would McSnead trade for the washed-up narcissist that is Aaron Rodgers who would destroy our team's chemistry and hasn't won shit in a decade? I'd rather just pay the Vikings for J.J. McCarthy; at least he's young and can still improve.

Didn't Stafford say this year that he wanted to play for a few more years?
I’m speculating. Stafford has had some poor games this year. He also had a strange contract situation where he wanted more guaranteed money and settled for 9 million. His contract ends in 2026. Why did he suddenly want more guaranteed money?

After this season, Stafford has no more guaranteed money on his contract that runs through 2026. It's been reported that the Rams want to play this year-by-year and are reluctant to commit to him through the length of the contract.

It was rumored that the Rams were hoping the Jets called to trade for him if the Rodgers thing didn't go through. What's not a rumor is that last year the Rams tried to get Stafford to renegotiate his contract. He refused.

The contract thing seems that it was less about Stafford wanting to retire versus the Rams wanting to keep their options open and possibly move on. Stafford wisely demanded more guaranteed money this year to protect himself in case the Rams decide to go another direction.

It's about just making sure he doesn't get dinged and with Havenstein banged up, they ste not putting him outthere behind Noteboom of they don't have to. Plus, he probably could use a week of not throwing this past week to freshen up the arm.
