Trading up for odunze would be a mistake imo, there is too much talent in this class to trade for.
Add him to Puka and the offense gets even more explosive. Kupp was unreliable for two seasons.

Although trading up may not pay off because the back end of this draft isn’t very good. It will be more difficult than last year to find 5th round gems.

So much of the draft depends on what happens in free agency but to me it looks like the Rams will go CB in the 1st round.

I did a mock with exactly that last week and it got one person to reply to it :D

I'm starting to think more and more that one of our first 2 picks if not our first pick is a WR. Brian Thomas Jr, Adonai Mitchell, Ladd McConkey in the 1st Wilson, Corely or Pearsall in the 2nd. I just have a feeling McVay will want a weapon for Stafford.

I saw your mock but Robinson was signed before I could get out a response. After that, my thinking was whether or not that/your strategy would still be in play—draft a WR early.

If so, would he be WR4?
Would you consider a guy like Worthy, who was a top PR guy last year? The Rams could use an upgrade in the return game. At least there would be some instant impact from a top draft pick.
…but then Momento came up with this:
I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly think that trading Cooper Kupp should be on the table, especially if you can get a first-round pick for him, but even if you only get a second, you have to consider it with this deep receiver class.

Why? Because I truly feel that Kupp's best football is behind him. He's always been injury-prone, and this year, he was truly ineffective. He wasn't bad, but he was also not nearly close to how good he was even last year (had less receptions, yards, and touchdowns in more games played than last year.
Really not that bad of a thought, as long as his replacement (top draft pick) was prepared to do his share of blocking. This is a must for anybody wanting to play in a McVay offense, right?

I don’t see Kupp ever having a season close to ‘21 again. Not only has a decline to be expected from all of the injuries, but it isn’t necessary as long as the Rams are getting production from Robinson and Nacua.

If I was a GM, I would offer a 3rd at best, but would hope a 4th and 6th would get it done. I just don’t see anybody offering anything higher than a 3rd.
Would you consider either of those offers?

Let's see what Kupp does this coming season before writing him off. His game is based on smooth rout running and hands more than speed.

Not really interested in Worthy we already have a 160lb WR and this one is 3 inches taller which makes him about a bean pole. The speed is undeniable but I just don't want another guy who will get blown over by a wind gust.

If we draft a WR in the first two rounds Robinson will be WR4 but that's not a bad thing IMO. And yes the WR early in this case Thomas JR is for immediate impact and a long term successor to Kupp and a duo with Puka. I just think McVay wants to get the most from Stafford. He'll try his best to keep the OL intact which IMO we end up replacing one of them potentially and we add a WR and TE even a speed RB.

For PR/KR I think a later round DB or RB can fill the role most likely a DB.

Not writing him off at all but he's as we all see had a string of injuries throughout his career and he obviously did not look 100% this past year. He'll be 31 soon and is signed for 3 more years. He will retire sooner or later and 2 more years along with Stafford and AD seems logical. Add to that the impact of a guy like Thomas Jr, Mitchell or Pearsall makes the team better.

This the answer.. I like Legette a lot but 19 might be too high idk. Worthy seems like a stud but we need a bigger body guy.
Legette is interesting too, this draft has so much WR talent! Big guy seems to use the big body and has good speed/quickness. Plus he has return experience.

Guys like that are game breakers.
What round?
Not sure he was going in the 4th or 5th in most projections but after yesterday I would say late 2nd or 3rd.There's plenty of tread on the tires too because he was lightly used at Wisconsin and he was the backup to Jawar Jordan at last year at Louisville

This, he showed flashes of his old self but something seemed off with him. Hopefully the offseason does his body well and we see the Kupp we're used to this coming season.

same boat here...Kupp going to hit 31 before the season starts..lets see what he has left in the tank , since a lot of folks round here think he retires after the season anyway

I’m not going to presume the Rams will make a move and land Odunze but, man…I’d love to see him in a Rams uniform. He’s going to be star.

What you described coupled with his contract is probably the reason the Rams probably wouldn't get that value back in return.

Anyone else think we’ll draft a wr with a higher pick this year? Love Kupp but he’s too expensive and injury prone at this point. This class is stacked.

Would love a big bodied guy with speed on the outside. If we have Kupp in the slot, Puka and (insert name here) on the outside, we could see unreal production from Kupp again, and it would prolong his career.

I personally am not really a fan of Odunze. Not sure why he’s ranked 3rd. While I think he’s good, every game I watched of Washington, he makes a ton of catches, majority of the time there’s a CB draped all over him. He doesn’t separate as much as you’d hope in college. At least in the games I saw. In the nfl that’s disaster.
