Dammit. I'd consider Gurley partly because he's good in pass protection. Stafford deserves it and not every back out there can fill those shoes.

Gore is a sneaky replacement as he blocks, continues to show endurance, would be a great locker room guy and mentor for all the RB's and wants a ring. If used the right way could be a great addition.

Just say no to Todd Gurley.

Too many bridges burned after Rams had to eat that ginormous contract. Oh, HELL no!

Well shit. Relying on Henderson makes me nervous cuz I dont trust that he can stay healthy all season. I just hope its the same Cam when he comes back next season. After watching what happened to Gurley it'll be rough to see the same happen to Cam.

I'd pass on Bell. Everywhere he's been its been the same thing. He's the common denominator so I'd guess he's been the problem.

I'd bring back Gurley but that's only because of his ability to score in the red zone. That and I was a HUGE Gurley fan and still am which I know isn't a good reason lol. Has to be damn cheap though.

Or maybe Jones gets a chance to shine.

Shit. What horrible news to wake up to. For some reason it hurts even more that it wasn't even in a game. I believe in Hendo, but he has never shown that he is durable enough to handle the load. Do wish this had happened around draft time and we might have taken a back higher then where we took Funk. If Funk's knee is good, I think he has a much larger role now then anticipated. Dude is athletic and I believe good sized. I really hope McVay doesn't go out and get a slow old vet. Of the FA on the market, I like Duke Johnson for us. He's never been utilized properly or given a big enough role IMO. He could really crush it here, I believe.

Rams will bring in a RB. Won;t be Cam Akers quality, of course, but they’ll bring in somebody adequat.

If a team has to have a player lost for the season, then RB is the easiest to replace with the least dropof.

Oof, that’s a blow for our RB core. Akers was on my list of players to have an insane season.

We can’t be serious in even mentioning Gurley as a replacement. The dude got jettisoned, burned bridges on his way out, has worse knees now than when he was with us and didn’t show much in his stint with the Falcons.

I don’t know who we would/should bring in but Gurley ain’t it.
Agree 100%, I'm hoping Funk can stay healthy and contribute, he's got the goods IMO., if they want to add & use say Peterson in the red zone, that's OK too.

Agree on Funk.....as old as he is Peterson still can go in the red zone. There's no getting around it, Akers loss can't be completely over come at this point....it's a shame to go out on ones shield even before the battle.

Might be worth watching the Texans or giving them a call now. They have David Johnson, Phillip Lindsay, Mark Ingram, and Rex Burkhead. You'd think one might be available for trade.
hey, i say yes to Phillip Lindsay, really liked what he did for the Broncos..

Honestly I couldn't remember if last year was his rookie year or had been here a year already. But knowing he was undrafted last year and no offseason due to COVID I am all for giving the kid a legit shot this training camp to earn the #1 or #2 role. I have had high hopes for Funk as well as long as he can stay healthy. Hopefully between those three they can get a full season plus playoffs with maybe a vet addition for security but at this point give Hendo and Jones the shot for majority of carries imo.

This is not just a seasonal injury; this could be career-threatening. Achilles tears are no joke, especially for a running back. I feel so sick for Akers right now, and honestly, I could see us drafting a running back high...again, especially if Henderson/Funk/Jones can't handle the load.
