Lot’s of sentiment in trade but fact remains he made decision to leave Rams for Balt last year and it appears he refused a re-negotiation this year. So twice he showed being a Ram wasn’t his main desire, the money was. Which is his option and can’t really blame him as it’s a two-way business. Consequence however is he’s now in NFL purgatory. Good luck Mike!
Didn't even think about this but that is a very good point.

@jrry32 Jourdan implied that they asked him to take a pay cut and that the offer to take the cut or be released or traded was on the table for awhile. They did about as right as you could do by him in this situation.

But Brock isn't in the wrong for saying no to a pay cut.

Just another example of signing a guy then dumping him right after. I love Brock but he wasn’t worth as much money as he got to begin with unfortunately.

Not at all. I don't think any of us see it that way. But the Rams aren't in the wrong either. It's the cost of doing business in the 2021 season. Players across the league are taking paycuts to help their teams win this year. Entire Bucs team, Kelce with the Chiefs is working on it right now. Brockers isn't wrong and neither are the Rams.

It's a business decision. Nobody is in the wrong. I didn't like some people implying that Brockers isn't a team player because he said no.

This is only a good trade if we get Hudson

I think we were already under the cap before the trade but I could be wrong

Unless of course they think someone is going to offer a fairly big contract to D Williams and they want to be able to match it

Passes on the salary cut and will probably get another signing bonus. Good for Brock he suffered through Fish years with good grace so IMO the dude deserves it. (y)
I think he was Fishers 1st draft pick, wasn't he?

Think so Dodger. And I also still think his best spot is 3T so we'll see if Detroit moves him there.

If the Rams released Brockers, they would have gotten $4.7M of cap relief.

By trading him, they get $6.2M of cap relief.

By trading and not releasing, we preserve a potential extra comp pick for next year.
