I think they should trade kupp or woods there to much the same there very good receivers but neither scares defenses and neither is matchup nightmare bout time we get that true # especiallly now that we have a an that’s going to throw it more than 5 yards
They both catch 90 passes a year, for 1k in yards at a near 70% catch rate. I'd say they scare plenty of defenses and create quite a matchup nightmare because seemingly 1 of them will be open. I surely understand the desire for a deep threat in addition to what we have, (though that threat may already be on the team) but I dont understand replacing one of them in order to gain that deep threat? That's 5 steps forward and 10 steps back IMO.
And furthermore, I thought the issue with the offense was Goff? That he allegedly wouldnt make the right read, or throw deep? Surely it cant be the personnel? If Stafford is the upgrade we expect him to be, why change what was already working?

Part of why McVay’s offense works is because he has two very good and similar receivers that can do the same things. There is no tipping who is running where based on specific roles. Jefferson is the same way. If they draft either of the two receivers they’ve contacted then it will be more of the same. A true number one is not necessary in an offense that relies on confusion and deception.

Kupp and Woods are in the height/ weight area of the most successful NFL receiver types. There was an article pointing to data that said as much.

Yep. And part of the issue with Everett is that his presence signaled that it was a pass as he hardly ever was brought in to run block.

Super disrespectful to Brockers, IMO. All they got out of him was a 7th rounder, which means they just gave him away for some training camp cut fodder. He always did right by the team - if they just wanted to dump him, they should have just cut him and given him the flexibility to pick where he's going to play, not ship him off to a wasteland where he'll just languish.

Super dick move by Snead.

Well it doesn’t work when it matters most .... we need a true #1 kupp and woods are real good #2s

C'mon dude. This is a business. I get people being mad about losing players they love happens to all of us. But this is an annual thing that we should all be used to. Especially when we're a winning team and everyone wants a piece of it.

I'm sure they looked at moving a lot of players that would have infuriated fans. We're fortunate to get both those WRs back IMO. I figured one of them would be moved too.

A release would have likely been a bigger cap hit. So that apparently was the best they could do.

I don't think that inspired many Lions fans. Hopefully he can do it with his play. It looked a it insincere
I bet it's cold in Detroit right now. He's probably thinking about the beaches in California...

I'm a big fan, and I'm really going to miss him. I bet AD is upset about it... Those two are pretty tight. Good luck MB

Sometimes you do right by employees that have done right by you throughout the years. You don't ship one of your longtime keystones to Siberia. Trading causes an accelerated cap hit. Releasing might have been marginally more expensive long term, but could have been split over 2 years. This is just Snead hooking up Holmes.

Also, I'm not entirely certain we're a "winning team" right now. I mean, looking at my season ticket package for next year, the inter-division slate looks like steaming garbage (I suspect the only 3 games I'll have no problem selling will be Tennessee, Tampa, and whomever the home opener is) so they've got that going for them in W-L, but this squad is descending to "average" real quick.

He failed a physical in Baltimore last year and was taken back by the Rams. That's what you do for an employee who has done right by you through the years. Then this year, in a bit of a cap bind, he's asked to restructure or take a pay cut and he balks. That's the thanks they get? I wish him well but if he's now in Siberia (and I don't believe he is), it was his own doing.

As far as "decending to average real quick", I think that's a bit of an over reaction. Who have we lost that suddenly makes us "average"?

In reality, Brockers wasn't worth much. All of us overvalue players and think the team should have gotten more. He's on the wrong side of 30 and no team was going to give up much, imo.

Dan Campbell is such a buffoon lol. For some reason though I like the guy. He put together a strong staff, ex-player which helps, and he seems to be able to command a room he just needs to go easy on his creativity at pressers. :ROFLMAO:
