His trade or release this year was something I have always anticipated. IMO the drafting of Lewis was a warning flag. I think between Lewis and Jonas Williams the Rams will get better production at the DE position.
I also can see Hoecht supplanting SJD behind Robinson and Gaines being shifted as AD's rotational guy at 3T.
The Rams still need an edge in rotation with Floyd unless they draft a DE and use oft-injured Lewis in that role.
Regardless I wish Brockers well in Detroit. I think that Detroit's new DC will move to a hybrid 3-4 so signing Brockers makes sense. In reality Brockers is more of a 3T in the hybrid scheme but of course with AD cemented in at that spot he played DE. He's a bit slow to play outside, and since is game is strictly power, moving him inside to a 3T position would make sense.
Of course a No Brainer. The Rams needed salary space. He was a luxury last season. The Rams got lucky to have signed him.
The Warning?? Awh - didn’t Brockers sign a contract with Baltimore? I think that was a sign.
The Warning?? A@ Robinson.
T.Lewis was drafted because of value. The Rams knew he was hurt & coming off injury. He is a totally different type of player as well.
I don’t think Lewis gets enough credit for his toughness & growth in 2020.
He is going to fill a role. Will see what Morris has in plan.He was Sampson’s backup.
What about Fox ? He is gone as well.He really stepped up & was such a solid Ram.Brockers & Fox were tight. He was around when AD was holding out.SJD & AD will be the leadership of that group now.Henderson brought them all together. B. Johnson was a nice D” Line coach with Mcvay early.
—J. Williams?? I think Eric Banks or M.Copeland might be better imo ??
Hoecht might be the best of that young group.
