We will miss Brockers' leadership..no doubt about that. But we are deep at DT now. I expect A'shawn to have a much improved season, as well as continued development from SJD and Gaines.

Regarding the loss of leadership, I think Stafford will fill that void nicely. Aquib Talib spoke on a podcast over the weekend and spoke about the Goff/Stafford trade and what he expects now in LA. He said he thinks Stafford is a great vet and outside of his ability he expects there to be a big upgrade in leadership. He said Goff wasn't really a leader. Which was kind of a shot...but still it's something many around here have said for a few years. I expect Stafford to come in and rally the troops.

Sounds like we will only be getting a 6th or a 7th back, in order to dump his contract

I guess it's now safe to say that Brockers wasn't restructured as some media outlets stated.

Nah, just know Les can't keep himself from getting all giddy if he can acquire those 6th rounders lol

Yea, I am guessing a 6th!!! Hoping for at least a 4th!! But, I agree with earlier post by PressureD41 that this move was more for the Salary Cap Savings than for anything the Rams got in return!

Fully expected. I like Brockers but he wasn't worth what his contract was. He's been a phenomenal leader and has made a play here and there.

We overpaid him and did him a favor after he failed his physical with Baltimore last off-season.. it's too bad he couldn't do the Rams a favor and help rework his deal.

Based on trade history for DTs, I'm guessing we got a 6th RD pick.

This is exactly where I am. Love the guy and thankful for his time with the Rams.

But I had no idea where they got the money for him last year, and as soon as he signed I thought he'd only be here one year.

Don't blame him for not wanting to take less, and don't blame the Rams for trading him.

Will miss you Brock. Now go get Golladay, Fuller or Hudson.

2 out of 3 ain't bad, not crazy about Fuller, hurt in college and hurt in the NFL...But he can flat out fly.

Crap. I was looking for Rams news all night and then I wake up to this. Brockers was our soul. He gave incredible gameday speeches. He's gonna be missed.

Man, I hope we get that center.

It sucks to see him go. It would have been great to see him finish as a Ram. Now I wish he had stayed in Baltimore and got the Rams a comp pick.

Detroit couldn’t stop the run at all last year, at least in the first 5 games (as far as I’ve gotten) I’m sure they can use him on that DLine.

Boy, they are eliminating the last of the St Louis era Rams. There were three left: Jake McQuaide, Michael Brockers and Aaron Donald.

AD, watch your cornhole!

True, but unlike the Talib dump, Brockers contract was not guaranteed. They could have just released him and still saved abt the same amount.

Obviously Detroit valued his leadership for a young team and did want him and knew he would never sign with them if he was released.

So they gave up something. Maybe just a trade up from round 6 to round 5 since that is the latest pick Detroit has (5th). Or a pick next yr, but I am guessing the Rams wanted more draft capital this yr if possible.
