I wish i kept a list of all the bozos in the media that said Goff and wentz weren't even close to the same level as Winston and mariota. Although we don't really need a list. Pretty much every bozo out there said it. Bozos.

.

How about a list of all the people who said Wentz should've went first and Goff was a bust?

Another thought on Arians.... with the int prone QBs in Tampa, I think Arians would get so mad that his head would explode.

There aren't enough good coaches with enough experience to go around. Maybe someone will give Linehan and Spagnolo another shot!

Linehan is a very good OC that should not have been a HC.

Spagnuolo isn't good at anything.

I think after 4 seasons in the books, we kind of know what to expect of Winston.

Yes, he's an average QB. And a turd of a human. He belongs in jail for what he did to that young woman in college and a lot of people deserve to be there with him for covering it up. If you read the NYT report on it you'll want to see him fail in life miserably.

Cards at least have a QB in place.

I'm not sold yet, it was his rookie year and he looked pretty bad den. And he has issues with accuracy and ball security...........we shall see if he grows into the job but I'm not as sold as you are.

FYI Marco to Tampa is a LONG commute every day. But I'm guessing you said that because you've visited.

He’s exactly the “tweener” QB... just good enough to be a starter, but painful to pay QB starter money.

Mariota is another one.

What do you pay these guys? And in doing so, you kind of sign up for more of the same play.

Neither are very good, and if I was a GM on either team I'd be studying college QB's day and night to find a quick replacement.

At least the Titans are winning with Mariota, his issue seems to be whether he can ever stay healthy.

Fist off you are right about staying healthy. He's injury prone for sure.

But more importantly he isn't very productive and he isn't the reason the team is winning. If the Titans had passed on trading the #1 to the Rams and had selected Goff they would be the favorite in the AFC right now or at worst be considered 2nd favorite. That's a really, really good team even with a bad QB. Imagine if they had talent at QB.

Jameis is a good fit for his system. He resurrected Carson Palmer's career when Palmer was having issues similar to Jameis'.

Palmer's issues were totally different than Winston's. Other than the thing which they share.

And I don't think that he resurrected Palmer's career, he was essentially the same QB his entire career with the exception of his last two years where he was just broken down from the hits over the years.

FWIW, that was @Merlin that had the Cards with a QB in place, I just did not crop the quote right. I felt that Winston offered a better option than Rosen as I believe the Arizona job is the worst in the NFL and IMO, will be the doormat to the NFC West for many years to come.

I also knew that Steve Wilks was a bad hire, had not accomplished much at all as a Coordinator, however, his choice of Mike McCoy as Offensive Coordinator did not work out, but how many people felt that was a bad hire for Wilks? Former Head Coach with a 27-37 record in 4 years, much better than many and seem like a scapegoat in Denver. The mistake was signing Bradford, which falls on their Druken Sailor of a GM in Steve Keim and they kept Keim.

Here's one for you....The Miami Dolphins make a trade with the Baltimore Ravens for John Harbaugh and QB Joe Flacco is included in the deal.

Bruce Arians remains a front-runner for Bucs job but there’s been no negotiations yet

The former Cardinals coach interviewed in Tampa on Saturday and speculation is he remains the favorite to land the Bucs job

There's been plenty of speculation that Bruce Arians is the leading candidate to land the Bucs head coaching job.

He interviewed with the team on Saturday in Tampa. The Bucs need a quarterback whisperer for Jameis Winston and someone who can work with general manager Jason Licht.

Arians checks both boxes and them some. He also could hire a great coaching staff, including the coaching staff he could assemble which may include former Jets coach Todd Bowles.

However, as of early Monday afternoon, the team had not yet entered into contract negotiations with Arians.

Of course, it's a fluid situation and those could begin any minute. The Bucs interviewed Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards and Cowboys defensive back Kris Richard.

Those interviews ended Sunday with the meeting in Dallas between general manager Jason Licht and Richard.

So it's not unusual that it may take a day, or several more hours, before negotiations would commence. The Bucs also have not yet made any plans for a news conference later today, so nothing is imminent. Again, things change quickly in the NFL.

I could see Arians taking the Buccaneer job because he lives close to Tampa and the likes of Todd Bowles (DC) & Hunter Goodwin (OC) are available. Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht worked for the Arizona Cardinals back in 2013 when the Cardinals hired Arians in 2013 so there is a prior relationship.

What I find humorous is that I love these coaches that walk away from the game for health reasons and return one year later. I guess it wasn't that much of a concern. Now other Coaches that have done it for several years and came back , I'm good with that, but I would not be shocked if Arians knew the Cardinals were going to suck and thought, what a great time to get out of Dodge and now parlay that into going to a place that has a young core in place and IMO, Arians tough love, my be just what the Doctor ordered for Winston and if the Bucs get Bowles as DC, it's a nice pair.

No he doesn't. I'm not saying it's not a good hire because he is a quality HC/offensive mind...but he didn't develop squat in AZ, and i'm not sure why he gets credit for Luck or Roethlesberger either.

I agree, but I do think he's a good Head Coach, just not a so called "Quarterback Whisperer." However, I think he'd be a good match for Jameis Winston because, Arians would provide the tough love, Winston has never truly had IMHO. The only issue with Arians is health and age being 66, but having Todd Bowles as his DC, would be an asset, although, it would be a scheme change for Tampa.

And the birth of the McVay coaching tree begins! Best of luck to him, it’s bittersweet to me. Don’t want the team to do well but want McVays guys to do well.

REPORT: Green Bay Packers to hire Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleur as Head Coach

The former Rams OC has landed his first head coaching gig.

It’s all-but official, the Sean McVay coaching tree is about to sprout it’s first branch. Per Adam Schefter, the Green Bay Packers are “zeroing in” on hiring Tennessee Titans and former Los Angeles Rams Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleur as their head coach:

Packers are zeroing in on hiring Titans' OC Matt LaFleur as their HC, sources tell @RobDemovsky and me . Packers have begun notifying other HC candidates that they've interviewed that they're out and the team has made its choice.

LaFleur left the Rams after the 2017 season after receiving a promotion with the Titans. Although LaFleur had the same title of offensive coordinator in LA, he didn’t call plays or have the traditional responsibilities of an OC. With the promotion to the Titans, LaFleur was handed a traditional OC job leading the Titans’ offense to 19.4 points-per-game (27th in the league).

LaFleur is a risky hire for the Packers as he’s a young (39-years old) coach who has no head coaching experience, though the league seems to be trending in the direction of the younger and more innovative offensive-minded coaches. And for a Packers team who has a Hall of Fame-level quarterback in Aaron Rodgers and an offense that lacked creativity in the past, LaFleur could prove to be a worthy gamble.

The Titans are tired of Mariota switching offenses every year. I wonder if they'll go after Zac Taylor hoping he'd at least use a similar system.
That’s a possibility, I looked at their coaching staff and don’t know many of the names but they all have a lot of experience. If Vrabel is smart he hires somebody like Taylor then brings in a young QB coach as well to groom.

Translation: of the coaches interviewed he was the guy they figured Rogers could push around and get his way with enough to where the team could keep the star QB happy.
