I usually read the GDT after the game, and it never fails to disappoint. I have said it before, our goal, as men, should be to be in control of our emotions.

That's a load of crap. Narrative build all you want.....complaining is complaining no matter how much you "Church" it up.
So you see nothing wrong with first half opining like.....

"these guys are blowing it. They didn't prepare. They took _______ lightly. They don't deserve to win"

And then when they win

"awesome performance. Way to turn it around! These guys really woke up in a hurry. Wonderful".

It's assinine IMHO. And that's just an opinion. But in my original post (or complaint as you will call it), I've pointed out I've seen that type of behavior in team situations. They strike out....or fumble....or fuck up and they bury their head up their ass until the other guys bring the W, then they celebrate like they that's okay. Like that's a good team mate. Or in this case, a serious fan who cares so much. It's behavior that is abhorrent IMHO. But that's just me. I look at sports as entertainment, an enjoyment we get from rooting. Others behave as if it's life and death. IMHO, in reality, they feel entitled, like they should never suffer trailing on the scoreboard or in the standings, so they get pissed. How dare they not play well when I'm rooting for them. How dare they not finish first when I've spent lots of money being fan all these years. Like I said, IMHO, assinine. But I have to LMFAO at people who defend that behavior.
How many of those "experts" have referred to themselves as experts. Or is it you labelling them as such.

We all offer opinions here. I can't think of anyone who posts here routinely that refers to themselves as an expert so that is probably your perception.

So you need someone to proclaim they're an expert? Okay, sure, whatever.

I will say that the ignore button has made this forum much more enjoyable for me - there are a handful of people that just never seemed to make any kind of real contribution to a thread or discussion at all but sure could piss me off ….. I just never hear from those people at all any more.

For purposes of this conversation, yes, absolutely I do.

Otherwise what do you have? I would say someone harboring hard feelings because he perceives the other poster thinks they know more. Nothing good lies down that road.

I guess I stand corrected?

I was laughing at myself during the last game because in the thread first I criticized Shula for not getting Witherspoon in the game when Forbes was getting destroyed. Then after Spoons interception I validated myself. Soon after Spoon was playing worse then Forbes, so I thought maybe that’s why he wasn’t playing before.

So I made fun of myself.

Not sure why people take things seriously. To me thread is all about laughing and making stupid comments to ease the pain of the disaster we are witnessing.

To each their own though.

It’s a real time vent thread, nothing more than a virtual bar where you can ball bust and let off some quick steam about the team and then laugh when it turns out the way it did (does)
That said, there are a few folks who show up just to pee in the punch, to be negative and antagonist. I doubt they're even Rams fans at all, just trolls. So I try not to put them any mind
Over the years, I have learned to be more and more objective. I try to limit the highs ands lows as much as I can.

I will say this though: That defense has me VERY worried.

I’m curious as to the draw of following the GDT during the game. I’m too caught up in the game to want to be distracted with following/posting while it’s going on. Definitely read/occasionally post before/after the game.
I like reading and knowing other people's thoughts, analysis, etc. Like celebrating something good with everyone, like an interception or a touchdown, etc. And, I check in and read at commercial breaks and halftime for the most part so as to not miss the game action.

I'm the most "entitled " MoFo on this board, hands down!

There was a point last night where I had to bail out of the GDT. It got so ridiculously toxic and antagonistic when the Cards took the lead in the third quarter. And even before then, when we weren't blowing them out and had to settle for a couple of field goals.

And it seems to be that's always the case when the team isn't playing well.

Entitled? Hardly.

How about spending a lifetime as a fan of a team with a history that could pretty much be summed up as "(nearly) always a bridesmaid, never a bride."

We're in the middle of one of the teams greatest stretches ever and still only have one Super Bowl to show for it. The bottoms falls out of NFL teams quickly and then it can take decades to recover.

Some of us would like to see another Super Bowl win or two and when what was looking like a very promising chance at that happening has careened into a fifth seed there's going to be anger and frustration.

With the heaps of praise McVay gets from fans and the media you'd think we'd have more championships in the last 10 years.

I would never use the ignore button. Why join a chat forum if you're going to ignore people.... makes absolutely no sense. To me IMO it shows that an individual is arrogant and can't can't handle when questioned about an opinion.

Yesterday’s game was frustrating early on. Cards came to play and got after the Rams. I think we all were a little concerned because the Rams looked a little shaky early on and that early third quarter run that Arizona put together was a punch in the mouth. Rams responded and dominated the rest of the game. Cardinals might have done the Rams a favor because the light went on and they took it to the Cardinals. Still some concerns about explosive plays and poor tackling but it’s good to be able to look at the tape and make adjustments after a win. Ram fans are like all fans. They get frustrated because they know what this team is capable of. I fully understand why some comments might have been on the negative side. When people are pointing out things that they perceive needs improvement I have no problem. There are some on this board just like other boards go completely negative immediately. I just move on from those types of comments and don’t give them much thought. Rams need to put together a complete game in all three phases going forward. That’s what it takes to WIN A SUPERBOWL. ESPECIALLY ON THE ROAD. Getting Lake, Dotson and Adams back is going to be huge. Carolina is a scrappy team with a pretty stout defense. Rams need to get after them early and most importantly FINISH.

It's the nature of how 40% of Americans behave these days.... They feel they have a sense of entitlement because of who they are or what they do for a living. Funny you bring this up as we saw this with a new resident in our private community. When you live in a private community there are some rules that need to be followed (and naturally some do get bent a little or broke every now and again). But when a new resident (a fireman) thinks he can park his 4x4 anywhere he wants (then lied and told us the La Verne fire chief said he could... not true), then his three very young kids (5 thru 8) are riding in the community on electric vehicles on sidewalks (not allowed) without helmets (again not allowed) and one of them spit in the face of a young girl (her parents called the police), then one of them crashed on someone's driveway and was hurt pretty badly. We had to let the owner (landlord) of the house know what was going on with the tenants because the owner was getting issued a fine of $1500. Basically the renters are now in the process of being evicted by the owner after only two months.
is this really neccessary in this thread?
