I just like to be sarcastic and make fun of our situation.

I realize some people take it seriously, but its therapeutic for me, so thanks to all those who laugh it off or put up with it. :crap:

I'm sure all of us really love this team but like me, they love to poke fun at the way we also play down to such inferior competition at times. It really is hilariously maddening at times.

I’m the same way. I pretty much deal with any type of negative emotion by making a smart ass comment about it :)

What I find comical is if it's 3 & 1 or 2 and we run for it and fail here come all the so predictable a run up the middle with Kyren. A run up the middle is probably what 75% of teams do on 3rd & 4th and short. So with Kyren's speed you don't want to run anything wide so that leaves a pass as the other option and if that fails here come all the McVay gets too pass happy, why's McVay abandoning the run, run it if you can't get a yard straight up the middle that's pitiful
What second guesser isn't a fucking genius? :laugh4:

I remember taking my Pops to a game after I got back from some years of being overseas and generally not interacting with family, and then realizing he was the most negative MFer ever during the ups and downs of it. He pronounced the game over, condemned half the players, etc. It was actually damn funny because I hadn't realized when I was a kid how negative his outlook was while watching sports. I just remember him yelling at the tube. :laugh4:

I can't find the reference, but long ago, I read an article quoting Marshall Faulk, who told the story of when he knew the GSOT was dead: a Rams fan approached him in a bar in Maryland Heights (St. Loo suburb), and ignorantly criticized one of his recent runs. Needless to say, he was very offended. The entitlement in St. Loo was off the charts, and soon enough, the wheels fell off. Fingers pointed in every direction, at Warner, Faulk, Pace, Martz, Mrs. Warner, etc. It was almost 15 years of high draft picks (several first overall picks) before we returned to respectability -- McVay's first season. A decade & a half of atrocious football, with only S-Jax to carry us through it.
Venting is one thing. But entitlement is another. We've been spoiled by 7 seasons of high-level success under McVay -- much longer than the GSOT lasted. It is VERY HARD to maintain that level of continued success in this league. There are 18 teams who'd gladly trade places with us today. Let's be thankful that, as long-time Rams fans, we are so fortunate to be watching meaningful games in January.
As we post in the GDT's, let's lift up these players & coaches who'd like nothing more than to make us all jump up & down on every play. Criticize the plays, not the players.

14 playoff teams (44%)
8 division winners (25%)
2 Conference Champions (6%)
1 SB Champ (3%)
Perspective
Sometimes the players deserve criticism.
Sure. But I'd guess, it happens at least 10 times as much as it's deserved (and that may be an extremely conservative estimate). Of course there are many "experts" dolling out that criticizm. But I'd also guess the actual experts are about 10% of the perceived ones (and that is definitely an over estimate).

Aaaaaah, the old, "You don't think like I do" complaints. I am always astonished at those who literally "Complain" about others complaining........lol!

Human Nature is a fickle B!tch.

The GDT is absolutely pathetic. It's actually at the point where we need 2 of the. One for the current thread that is full of toxic waste. And one for people that want to enjoy chatting with fellow fans and can be critical but not be cringe worthy.
The 49's Faithful and the Rams have the Rams Unfaithful on the GDT. It's weird how it evolved into troll central. There are the diehards on there for the most part that are just upset and rightly so, but I mute the toxic "We are one and done in the playoffs you heard it here first" people. It's like they are wishing and praying their self proclaiming demise of our team will come true so they can be right. My advice, start a stock market report letter and send it out to people scaring everyone about the upcoming crash while the market continues to go up and up.

Go read the 49ers forum when they're losing. Or any other team's forum. We don't have a monopoly on negativity. Its a fan thing. We're passionate about our team so we get frustrated with them when things aren't going well. Doesn't mean someone is not a real fan.

If I have to hear "Mcvay needs to give up play calling" or "this team is horrible" one more time I'm gonna lose my mind. Highest scoring team in the league, but as soon as some opposing defense puts up a drive or two of resistance, "same ol Mcvay." AHHHHHH.

There's nothing wrong with passion or even negative critique. But the sensationalism with a lack of logic is a bit silly. People are free to write what they want, of course. It is what it is.

Saying he needs to give up play calling is an overreaction for sure. Its his system. No one knows it better than he does. The defense on the other hand. Oof. If we don't go all the way I doubt it will be due to the offense.

I don't get why everyone gets so upset with people's posting in the GDT. Negativity is natural. It is a natural reaction with everything in life. If you're married and have a wife like mine, I know you get it!

I love the game day thread...just as it is...wouldn't change it a bit!

This. I'd like to sit back and act all high and mighty like I never get pissed off and vent during a game. But unfortunately I've had some posts in those things when the performance of the team gets to me, like when we lose to the Shitters for example.

There are some posters who are negative as fuck every game in there. But it's like seeing a game at the bar... There's gonna be fans who overreact or get stupid and it's far better to laugh or poke fun than get all fucking offended like a virgin taking a bukkake session.
