Which, in a passive-aggressive way, is precisely what you've just done.Aaaaaah, the old, "You don't think like I do" complaints. I am always astonished at those who literally "Complain" about others complaining........lol!
Human Nature is a fickle B!tch.
Yeah. Apparently this is how he likes his defenses built. Bend, don't break, etc. To his credit, it's better to do that with a league leading offense.Saying he needs to give up play calling is an overreaction for sure. Its his system. No one knows it better than he does. The defense on the other hand. Oof. If we don't go all the way I doubt it will be due to the offense.
The Patriots did it, so it can be done. But yes been spoiled with the success. But also baffled by the deep inconsistency.I can't find the reference, but long ago, I read an article quoting Marshall Faulk, who told the story of when he knew the GSOT was dead: a Rams fan approached him in a bar in Maryland Heights (St. Loo suburb), and ignorantly criticized one of his recent runs. Needless to say, he was very offended. The entitlement in St. Loo was off the charts, and soon enough, the wheels fell off. Fingers pointed in every direction, at Warner, Faulk, Pace, Martz, Mrs. Warner, etc. It was almost 15 years of high draft picks (several first overall picks) before we returned to respectability -- McVay's first season. A decade & a half of atrocious football, with only S-Jax to carry us through it.
Venting is one thing. But entitlement is another. We've been spoiled by 7 seasons of high-level success under McVay -- much longer than the GSOT lasted. It is VERY HARD to maintain that level of continued success in this league. There are 18 teams who'd gladly trade places with us today. Let's be thankful that, as long-time Rams fans, we are so fortunate to be watching meaningful games in January.
As we post in the GDT's, let's lift up these players & coaches who'd like nothing more than to make us all jump up & down on every play. Criticize the plays, not the players.
This. I'd like to sit back and act all high and mighty like I never get pissed off and vent during a game. But unfortunately I've had some posts in those things when the performance of the team gets to me, like when we lose to the Shitters for example.
There are some posters who are negative as fuck every game in there. But it's like seeing a game at the bar... There's gonna be fans who overreact or get stupid and it's far better to laugh or poke fun than get all fucking offended like a virgin taking a bukkake session.
than get all fucking offended like a virgin taking a bukkake session.
I’m curious as to the draw of following the GDT during the game. I’m too caught up in the game to want to be distracted with following/posting while it’s going on. Definitely read/occasionally post before/after the game.I don't get why everyone gets so upset with people's posting in the GDT. Negativity is natural. It is a natural reaction with everything in life. If you're married and have a wife like mine, I know you get it!
I love the game day thread...just as it is...wouldn't change it a bit!
There is a reason I am not in it. I don't want my reactions known and some of the vulgarity that I utilize towards the officials. Yesterday, with some of my Ram compadres in attendance, all of us said some things that once the comeback was complete and the final score read, 37-20, we all responded: "They must of heard us."The GDT is absolutely pathetic. It's actually at the point where we need 2 of the. One for the current thread that is full of toxic waste. And one for people that want to enjoy chatting with fellow fans and can be critical but not be cringe worthy.
I remember taking my Pops to a game after I got back from some years of being overseas and generally not interacting with family, and then realizing he was the most negative MFer ever during the ups and downs of it. He pronounced the game over, condemned half the players, etc. It was actually damn funny because I hadn't realized when I was a kid how negative his outlook was while watching sports. I just remember him yelling at the tube.![]()
Myself, I usually stay out of GDTs, for good reason. Better to live in the moment and enjoy the game like we did 30 years ago.Sorry man, just how I feel about it. You opened that door.
Quickest way to ruin cameraderie is to weaponize sensitivity. Good intentions, but bad results.
I have exited those threads too at times. But censorship is usually the worst management tool to handle it.
That's a load of crap. Narrative build all you want.....complaining is complaining no matter how much you "Church" it up.Observation not complaint.
It's not about how one "thinks" but how one behaves.
How many of those "experts" have referred to themselves as experts. Or is it you labelling them as such.Of course there are many "experts" dolling out that criticizm.
Which, in a passive-aggressive way, is precisely what you've just done.
Nothing wrong with PBR, that beer kicks ass. Also MREs just need a little creativity. My only gripe is half of you get to enjoy bomb ass foods and liquors during the GDT and I am stuck with MREs and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
