It is amazing that a Lousianna lawyer filed a suit that in essence saying NFL should exercise rule 17.
Has nothing to do with participation trophies. If we lost that game after a call like that, this forum would be blowing up. I don't begrudge them for being angry. I'd be furious too. But I also don't owe them shit. Why? Because when I was livid after our first game this year and cursing Vinovitch's crew on another forum, Saints fans on there decided to talk trash and try to piss me off more by rubbing salt in the wound. Well, karma is a bitch.

I never heard what kind of impact that petition had. Does anyone know:
1. Who saw it and/or mentioned it? (as in ref crew, nfl, twitter, journalists)
2. Was the one put together from our forum mentioned in social media or was there one from another group of fans?
3. Is there any fallout from it?
This is a bit dated by I have found nothing that says it has changed and have seen recent statements that concur with what I said.

I didn't know anything about these rules before Sunday, but the first media person I heard mention them that night immediately brought up Article 2 and insisted the whole concept of post game Goodell intervention was a non-starter. Unfortunately I was a bit delirious from the Rams win and I have no recollection of who it actually was.
I'm surprised for as good as he is that Drew Bree's only has 1 ring. He should have at least 2 rings.
Troy Aikman mentioned it during the replay as well. When he said horse collar is not called on a QB I was like "huh"?

Bleacher report, a few others (nothing major), plus Mason and Ireland picked it up, same one that was posted here, and other than Mason and Ireland taking "credit" for the flags staying in the pockets for pushing the story there's no fallout that I've seen.
I want to think that if the situations were reversed I would have accepted the result, but I'd be lying to myself. It’s one of those "stages of grief" things. Some Saints fans are still stuck in the early stages (it took me weeks to get over 2002 SB loss to Pats and then the Spygate revelations brought it all back again).

The Saints fans were whining that Rams fans aren't acknowledging that NRC committed pass interference.
For Saints fans, it probably was PI and it wasn't called. Does that make you happy? Now can you crybabies admit that Goff got face masked? And that his left arm got donkey stomped by a Saints players after the face ask call was missed?
If the Rams get first and one on the half yard line, more time comes off the clock and more than likely the Rams punch it in for a TD. Assuming we make the PAT (Why would our kicker miss?) we are up 4 and that changes the narrative of the game and how it's played out.
Why can't the Saints crybabies acknowledge that?
It's not like the Rams go up 4 and the exact same thing happens with Ginn catching a ball thrown up for grabs.

"The play" was probably pass interference. The Rams got away with one. Happy? But if you guys looked really careful, Aaron Donald had his face mask grabbed on that play by a Saints O lineman. Nobody brought that up on the Saints forum.
I saw where Saints fans even deny that Goff got face masked on the series before the Saints got the ball. Sorry, Goff's head got turned. That's a personal foul. Then a Saints player donkey stomps Goff's arm (looks like purposely) after the play was over. Both egregious penalties would have drawn flags and the donkey stomp would have drawn a fine in the regular season.
I won't even get into detail about Josh Reynolds getting stomped on the head earlier.
Here's the part not a single Saints fan has discussed (at least I didn't see it).
Alvin Kamara got 15 yards on 8 carries. Ingram got 31 yards on 15 (or was it more?) carries. That's 46 yards rushing. Brees and the Saints offense had 290 yards total offense for the entire game plus overtime. This is why the Saint lost the game. Not because of one bad call. This is why so many "experts" said the Rams had no chance. The Rams can't stop the run.
Do you guys really think that your one penalty is the only one that counts? Yeah it sucks. I almost feel for Saints fans. But you guys had plenty of calls go your way in this year's game and in the 2010 NFC Title game against the Vikings, including a completely blown PI call against the Vikings that put the Saints in FG range to win the Title. Nobody was asking to replay the game then.
Don't rain on our parade. We are happy we won. Sure, I think most Rams fans wish that play never happened, but it's only a "tainted" victory or an asterik next to the Rams if you are wearing Saints colored glasses. You guys were up 13-0 and forced us to punt in what might be the greatest homefield advantage in the entire NFL. Our young QB and team managed to overcome that and win the game. Give credit where it's due.

I think you hit the nail on the head there, unfortunately Father Time catches up to you... The season was a few Sundays too long for Drew, who is one of my favourite non-Ram players, maybe Payton could have mixed in more rushing plays to help him out a bit.
You spelled this out so well. If the facemask was called Rams had a great shot at taking the clock down to probably about four minutes, with a 24-20 lead.
Down 4 points with about 4 minutes, having to punch it in for a TD no less, is no small task. It's an entirely different game. I'd have bet money on the Rams in this situation.
But, we'll never know, because the fricking refs didn't throw the flag!
