They may as well petition to have the entire 2017 and 2018 seasons replayed in their entirety. Shit lets go all the way back to week 1 of the 2001 season.

Shit...they might as well ask Trump for an executive order overturning the win...would be quicker than congress!

This storyline has to be the dumbest thing to arise in this century!

I predict this will become the longest "What Fans Are Saying" thread ever. Seems as if there is no end.

Reality is that pass by Brees was horrible and should have been a pick six. Even Troy Aikman in the booth said that. There shouldn't be ANY reward for that pass. Brees didn't even see Robey-Coleman

Robey-Colman said it wasn't even his man.

I'm a life long Saints fan and I signed up to this forum a few years ago with hopes of being able to chat with you all about the L.A. move, but the timing was bad for me during the summer of that year. I forgot about it over time cause I had been a member of SaintsReport going back to 2011 and that was my main home for a while between a different team's forum where I used to hang out and now, I have no home since I'm banned from SaintsReport and that old NFL forum I used to chat on has long been lost. I only just now realized I had an account here when trying to sign up. I wanted to come on here and congratulate all of you. I'm not here to troll you or post conspiracy theories.

Let me be one of the few Saints fans who congratulates you on your win. I was banned from SaintsReport and I'm guessing I was banned along with the handful of other members who were trying to have a rational discussion about the game without going full conspiracy mode with the crazy ass nonsense about it all being rigged against them. Our fan base is easily the most conspiracy minded fans of all NFL fan bases, they've been like this since 2012 when Bountygate happened. I tell fans of other teams any time it's brought up; Bountygate broke their collective minds and they never recovered their rationale. Any time they lose a close game, it's always the refs fault. They are unable to handle a loss without going complete Alex Jones about it. Before this week, they completely lost their minds over the Cowboys loss and were blaming the refs, Goodell, Jerry Jones and even had a bizarre Spygate style conspiracy theory about it. Go through any topic about Dallas on their forum and count how many posts bring up "the refs" and "Jerry's paid refs" and you see what I mean. They couldn't even give Dallas credit for thoroughly humiliating us, no it was all a big conspiracy in some way or another.

The Saints didn't loss on a bad non-call, let me be one of the few who will admit this. Since I'm banned from my previous home for saying these exact words, I might as well tell you all this too - something went really wrong for the Saints beginning with the Dallas game. To put it simple; Dallas whooped us. Not only did they beat the living hell out of us, but they completely exposed this team and their over-reliance on the only two weapons they had on offense - Michael Thomas and Kamara. Essentially, Dallas proved to the rest of the NFL that if you could limit or entirely shut down Kamara and Thomas, then the Saints had nothing else to scare you with on offense. Teams have been taking their only two play makers away and forcing Brees to pick them apart with a cast of no-name receivers that no one knows.

Brees had a TD/INT ratio of 29-2 and a QB rating over 130 prior to week 11. In the last 6 games, his QB rating tanked down to 88 and his TD/INT ratio was a horrible 7-5. Like I said; something has been wrong with this team for over a month. They were never the same after that Dallas game. Since that loss, the Saints sorta became the opposite of the team they were early in the season; the defense began stepping up and was bailing them out for several weeks. Go watch highlights of the Tampa Bay, Carolina, Pittsburgh and Philly games; the offense struggled in all those games and had to be bailed out by strong defensive play. In reality, the defense really was pulling miracles with late stops and key turnovers, meanwhile the offense would piddle around and couldn't do nothing.

The Rams seemed to do the opposite at the end of the year after their offensive struggles. They got it together and changed some things on their offense that helped them recapture their magic they had. The Saints didn't do this at all and I wish fans would speak out about Payton's inability to do this. His play calling was questionable and deserved criticism in both playoff games. He nearly blew it for us against the Eagles; a game where the defense dominated for 3 quarters, then the offense just piddled around unable to shut the door on them, thus giving Philly one last shot for a miracle. We got bailed out by our defense yet again.

We got out-played and out-coached Sunday against your team. I will just admit it. We've seen teams in the past blow leads in the NFCCG and they never win it. The loss reminded me a bit of the Packers 2014 NFCCG meltdown where they blew a 16 point lead and then had a 12 point lead late in the game and blew that too. We had a 13 point lead and then a 10 point lead, lost both of them. The game would've never come down to that non-call had the offense not struggled and played as bad as they had for the past month and a half. I honest to god knew the game was over when it got tied at 20. I knew the Saints were about to screw it up.

Even after the no call pass interference, we had the ball in OT and threw a pick. That pick reminded me a lot of Brett Favre's bad interception in the 2007 NFCCG. It was easily Brees' worst pass of the season. Brees did not play well Sunday and it felt like the longer the game progressed, he was going to eventually have a turnover. We've seen those kind of games for him from time to time and he's had a few of them this year (Dallas and Carolina come to mind) and other great QBs are prone to stuff like this.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. I am venting a little because it was quite hurtful being banned from a site and community that I had been a part of for all those years, simply because I didn't want to buy the popular opinion that this is all a major conspiracy theory. Before I was banned, it was even implied that I worked for the NFL and was being paid shill money by Roger Goodell to come on there and voice my opinion that disagreed with them. THAT is how far lost our fan base is. They are lost to the point that any other Saints fan who disagrees with them must be paid by George Soros, oops, I mean Roger Goodell, regardless how much evidence there is of years worth of posts to debunk such nonsense. Goodell is their big boogie man and they think he controls everything in the universe solely to make their lives miserable. I don't blame anyone for laughing at our fan base and we don't deserve sympathy either. This is an embarrassment with how the fans are acting but I'm not surprised. Like I said, Bountygate broke whatever rationality they previously had. We've been the insane asylum fan base of the league ever since and now we are completely in Alex Jones territory with all these inane conspiracies about this game. That bad non-call would've been a footnote to that game had the offense got it together in OT.

Congrats on your win. I seen nothing in the Saints 2 playoff games that would convince me that we would have a shot against the Patriots. Maybe your team will match up better with them. Good luck in 2 weeks.

I'm a life long Saints fan ...

I have been over to Saints Report. I was going to register and post but don't care enough about anyone's opinion to respond.

I have read a lot of other NFL team forums and the members on Saints Report actually are the most well spoken group. They are accused of not being rational in this post but is anyone really completely rational and unbiased about the team they root for?

I would love to know if anyone on Saints Report has first hand knowledge that Goff's helmet mic not working on the first series was not caused by anyone affiliated with the team or stadium. I am convinced that is the case.

Nice post Synthetic.

I agree with most of what you say. I have never seen a football game that was decided on one call. I have always been of the mind to never blame refs. Some Rams fans blamed the fake punt call in week 9 on why we lost. So all teams fan base has some of that.

I really had no feel of the Saints fan base until the last three days. And I have to say it is over the top. Launching lawsuits, politicians wanting investigations, conspiracy theories. Its not a good look. That said a fan has no control over other fans of the same team.

I could not tell you about that. That topic did not come up once before I was banned. I haven't been back to the board since then cause I felt quite insulted that I was questioned as a paid shill working for the NFL commissioner.

The forum there is a lot of fun when the Saints are winning and it's even cool to hang out when they are having a down year. I'm a little angry for being banned when I had been a long time member, so excuse me for being a bit irrational in that post. They are not taking this loss well at all, and it isn't really a surprise cause they've went insane like this before. Time will tell if the current conspiracy binge on there lasts longer than it did over Bountygate.

You may want to check back on there in a few months if that, and see if they cool down and want to have a rational discussion about a topic such as the helmet mic. Right now, they are in full Alex Jones mode and given the history of when they got like this over Bountygate, we are going to have to wait a long time for them to cool down and begin thinking about these sorta things.

Nice Post, and welcome.

Thanks. I meant to post on here back in 2016 but that was a pretty busy summer for me.

I was pretty happy to see the Rams move back to L.A. I remember the old divisional rivalry games we used to have back when the Saints and Falcons were in the NFC West. There's a number of classic divisional games between our two teams back in the day. We shared a common enemy back in the day being the 49ers whom I still hate with a passion to this day.

You guys also gave us Jim Everett - the best Saints quarterback of my youth. I must also say Everett was a class act in NOLA and we fans who were there back in those days generally appreciated him. I had friends who sent the team fan mail and Jim mailed them back some autographed cards. Really sweet guy.

Welcome to R.O.D.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm of the belief that there are many factors to deciding an NFL game. Sunday's loss did not come down to that one missed call. I also feel it's only fair if we talk about other stuff the refs missed; I saw the facemask on Goff which went uncalled and even had Troy Aikman pointing it out. If the Rams get that call, it's 1st and goal and they most likely punch it in, then we're down 24-20 and it completely changes that drive. The Saints had not been able to do anything on offense in the second half after going up 20-10. They did not play well Sunday. I wish more of our fans would go back and look at the play calling, cause I think Payton got out-coached by McVay, which has become a common theme in all of these heart breaking playoff losses. This is far from the first time Payton has been out-coached in the playoffs. I have strong memories of Harbaugh clowning him in the 2011 playoff loss or Pete Carroll doing it twice.

Something has been wrong with the Saints offense for over a month now. I have tried to discuss this with other Saints fans and there are some on that forum who would engage in this kind of discussion, but the vocal majority refused to hear it. The stats are there as evidence. One of the editors at FootballOutsiders made jokes about them not being able to drive on offense without being so overly reliant on Kamara and Michael Thomas. Ever since Dallas slapped them around, they haven't been the same again. The offense collapsed beginning with that Cowboys game and they never regained their mojo. For the past 7 games, the Saints have been relying on their defense to do all the heavy lifting and bail them out while the offense barely does anything productive.

I honestly felt this season was going to have a bad ending last week. The Eagles game confirmed my fears. Philly shot up to a 14-0 lead early, then the defense went to work. The defense dominated them and for 3 quarters, Philly gained less than 90 yards. Despite this full scale dominance, the Saints barely won cause their offense mustered just 20 points. They screwed around that entire game on offense with dumb penalties and punting. Looking at the stats and how badly they out-gained the Eagles in yards, that game looks like it should've been a blow out. But instead, it wasn't, the Eagles still had a shot in the end and we had to pray for our defense to pull another miracle and win as they had been doing for several weeks now. For me, this game told me that they probably weren't going to beat the Rams and they strictly wouldn't beat the Patriots in the SB. Defense may win championships, but rarely without a productive offense.

Every team gets calls that go their way sometimes and they'll also get bad calls. I've seen it with every team and I 100% fully admit that my beloved Saints have gotten some calls that went their way too. Steelers fans were rightfully upset back around Christmas over a handful of questionable calls in that game because 2 of those calls led to touchdowns.

Speaking of that Steelers game; Sunday's game vs the Rams went similar to that. Saints had a 10 point lead early and blew it. They needed the defense to pull some serious heavy lifting - a 4th down stop and a turnover, yet we still couldn't shut the door on Pittsburgh. The offense needed a huge pass interference penalty on Joe Haden and then a miracle 4th down conversion to just barely score a TD and retake the lead. Then right after that, the defense had to bail them out one last time with the game sealing turnover.

This loss hurts me as a fan cause it feels like the last chance we had to get Brees back to the SB. It feels like the end of an era. Outside of that, I'm not really mad about it. They got out-played and out-coached. The loss was coming, and even if we do win, I don't see them having a legit shot against the Patriots with how bad the offense has played. The Pats would quickly shut Thomas and Kamara down like everyone has done in the past month and then it would've been us hoping and praying for the defense to keep Brady quiet for 4 quarters.

Hopefully, unlike another seemingly legit Saints fan who was actually a troll, you will prove to be legitimate.

I can assure you that I am not a troll or here to talk badly about you folks. I mean absolutely no harm.

I signed up here back in 2016 and the name came to me from a specific album I was really into at the time by Retro Wave artist Trevor Something. 'Synthetic Love'. If you like synths and 80's style music, you might like it.

I play guitar, bass and synths in my off time as a hobby. Apart from football, I could probably talk music with you folks for fun.
