It's really irritating how it's assumed the Saints would make the fg and win the game if the ref doesn't blow the call.
Like nobody has ever seen a FG be missed or blocked before and they don't even consider the possibility. So many things can go wrong on a fg attempt. It's not automatic.

Thank you for the congrats! As soon as it happened I was upset......I hate when stuff like that happens because it wasn't the Saints fault it wasn't called and it wasn't the Rams fault either.

I was prepared for a loss and I was going to jump on the Saints bandwagon for the Superbowl, (I don't hate the Saints as other may here......)

It was a bad call that disjointed the entire affair. Good luck next year and have a good one!

El caliente, I have to admit that I was wrong about you not coming back after we won, and for that I apologize. Kudos to you for "manning up." The Saints played one helluva a game yesterday, which is the first time I've had a chance to say after all of the "no call" commentary, where we have to defend the legitimacy of the win. That 57 yard FG was insane and so dangerous if it was missed. It was a great season for your team and you should be proud.

Yeah, I regret this post..Dude was an absolute troll. He didn't really man up, he was here to lessen the pride we had in the victory, and to attempt to make us feel like we didn't deserve to win. Screw him.

Like nobody has ever seen a FG be missed or blocked before and they don't even consider the possibility. So many things can go wrong on a fg attempt. It's not automatic.

I mean Lutz is a great kicker. Chances are good he makes it. That said, if they call the facemask on Goff on the drive before it's first and goal Rams from the 1, chances are good the Rams score a field goal does nothing for the Saints.

No, they did pass in first down. Every Saints fan is wondering that (right after they are wondering how two refs blew the PI). Make no bones about it, that pass on first down was boneheaded, but the Saints needed yardage if they were going to win the game with a FG.

The same way they missed a face mask on Goff the series before that would have given us 4 downs inside the 5. Your saints would hVe to score a TD and wouldn't be trying to run out the clock. It was a blatant no call. His head was turned back and everyone saw it, but guess what. They weren't calling penalties. So when you get screwed next series it shouldn't be so surprising.

well to be fair they did still make a fg after the no call and it was from a longer distance. so between that and the fact it woulda been a chip shot I think its fair to assume they woulda won in that situation

Welcome to ROD, hope you have a long and enjoyable visit with us. We aren’t a bad bunch and aside from your coach really don’t hate your team in spite of what you may have read here.

You’ll have to forgive us we’ve spent a long time as a joke in the nfl. Then when we finally get good we are constantly bombarded with negativity from opposing fans. We hear every week from our opponents fans, some of them I don’t want to lump you in with them, how bad or mediocre our players and coaches are. We’re a little defensive from all the negativity and that went into overdrive on Sunday . For the most part opposing fans are welcome here and have a good time. We have a couple from other teams that have participated for years and are family, as long as they wash those ugly uniforms regularly

Side note that linebacking group with Sam Mills and company may be my favorite position group ever to not be Rams. So long story short welcome aboard and look forward to chatting.

I spent a couple months in NOLA from Feb - Apr and love the city. Garden Dist/Warehouse dist St Charles and tchoupitoulas. I miss the food and the proximity to all kinds of fun. Magazine street was one of my Fav's
I hired many locals from the area and made friendships that I will always have. What RODies may or may not be aware of is just how passionate and resilient the fans and people from NOLA are. As with all socially polarizing events you will have percentage that just goes beyond what most deem as tolerable. NOLA is a city everyone should see and for So Cal's it is such a different culture.
Hang around here shoot the shit support your team have discussions with other real football fans and don't hold back when it come to Football talk.
This Forum is really based on a couple simple rules that should be pretty easy to deal with. Don't make personal assaults and don't be a but.
