Impossible to say what this is right now. Physically he is fine. I wonder if he is struggling mentally after what must have been a long, lonely rehab process followed by fumble issues upon his return, not having much success on the field... it must be very frustrating.... curious to see how this all shakes out.

He has *major* fumble issues. That’s the only reason he got passed up by Robinson. He played receiver in college and moved to running back once he got to the league, so he’s still learning the position, but he fumbles the ball *frequently*.
You’re gonna get warts in pretty much any bargain trade, imo.

I would be scouring practice squads for a good looking RB talent. Hopefully one with some size.

Often good RB's are cast-offs from other teams. Look at a guy like Mostert. He was on a bunch of teams prior to finally breaking through in SF.

Someone is outthere that could help by season's end and next yr.

Man, I'd hate to be on McSnead's bad side. Right now, the only guys that are probably safe are Stafford, Kupp, Ramsey, and Aaron Donald.

We have no 4'th round draft pick for 2023, ... yet.

  • Round 1: 0 picks
  • Round 2: 1 pick
  • Round 3: 1 pick
  • Round 4: 0 picks
  • Round 5: 0 picks
  • Round 6: 3 picks
  • Round 7: 1 pick
Yeah, they are projected to get two 5's, a 6th, and a 7th for comp picks.

I think he could be part of a deal… something like him and a 4th for Antonio Gibson.
Was thinking last night that Gibson would be nice to have. Would be perfect in this offense with his receiving skills and has good size.

Might get another 3'rd if Raheem Morris is picked up as a H.C. also.
Still, any potential Comp pick doesn't help now in a trade scenario.

They can make a trade on that condition of getting a pick.

I don’t get the lol.
His wart is his lack of speed.
I'm being sarcastic.....for some reason I can't use blue font on this site. Even great players have warts, just not as glaring. It's fitting all the pieces plus warts together that make or break a team.

"declined to say whether he believes Akers will be a part of the team in the future"

Oof sounds like Goff.

Looking forward to what Williams can bring but man that dude keeps getting hurt too.
Williams is weeks from returning.

Not anymore, the league changed it you can't trade a conditional pick like we used to. Have to wait until the pick is rewarded to trade it.

If he's part of a trade it could be for a OG. A decent OG would go a long way in resolving the OL problems.

Skura for all his warts as a C at least has the experience to make OL calls and should be an improvement over Kolone. Jackson has proven he's a decent OG but he's better as an OT. Aboushi is a backup-level OG but could start at RG. They need a LG for the long term. Moving Jackson back to swing OT gives them flexibility if Noteboom is still playing hurt like he looks to be. With Brown, Henderson, and Williams who should be able to play after the bye, those 3 could hold down the fort at RB for the rest of the season.

IMO OG is a more pressing need now and in the long term.

There is no question in my mind that Akers hasn't looked the same since his injury. His burst is gone and IMO it's why he hasn't taken those holes because physically he might not be able to do so. I think regardless of the immediate, he's gone next year. If they can get something for him they should.

I knew it was a big mistake to let Michel walk. They should make a trade with the Chargers to get him back. This team needs a grinder and Michel was that. They miss his 4-7 yard runs. His runs forced defenses to honor the run when he was in. He was a grinding chain mover and that is exactly what this team needs.

I hope the young man is ok emotionally/mentally or that there aren't any issues with his family.
I say it’s attitude.

Jourdan referred to the fact that, miraculously… he got healthy from the same injury as Henderson at the exact same time.

I'd say that speculation is unnecessary and the trying to trade him premature and incorrect based off what McVay has said. It's not football related which would in my mind eliminate attitude. As McVay said let the situation play out and we'll get more information. Out of respect for the player but we know there's little of that around here for Akers or anybody else that's in the fans dog house.

The coach said that Akers was physically OK and indicated that the situation was not football-related or performance-related as it pertained to the Rams’ run game as a whole.

“I would say it’s more like we’re dealing with things internally. I don’t know, exactly…these are kind of uncharted territories,” McVay said. “Out of respect for the situation, I want to keep it internal. You guys will have more information later on.”
