So... I think he's a great guy. He's definitely not a complainer and has made some great plays in the past for this defense. He's well above average, well, he used to be. I respect him and I'm not calling him out or anything. I sincerely wonder if he's a good fit for us, vrs the money being paid. After all there is a salary cap and the NFL is a business.

1. I feel like at the end of the season, McVay is going to compare Quinn's production against his pay, and they just might let him go in the off season.

2. He's just not getting to the QB so far this season. Outside speed rush is about all we're seeing and most left tackles seem to be riding/pushing him past the pocket, past the play, fairly easily.

3. I personally will pay close attention to him this Sunday against Dallas. If he keeps looking average this week, I'm going to be even more concerned. When I've watched him lately I get the feeling he's not giving 100% anymore, that he's content with his money and doesn't want to get hurt. The smiling on the sidelines when we're losing tells me a lot. Players who live for the game and HATE to lose, don't smile and have a good time when it appears we're going to lose the game. They just don't.

I spoke up and voiced similar (not producing) comments about Chris Long way before it was "allowed" on here to do so. By "allowed" I mean I took some shots about how "sacks are not the most important thing" and "making tackles are not the most important thing" but that Long was a leader and had the job of containment on the edge. Problem is we were paying him way too much to contain the edge and not make big plays.

Have at me.

I hate talking Money and Salary Cap during the Football Season! I would rather concentrate on playing the game!

Will wait to see how he progresses through midseason. I sincerely hope he's still learning new pass rushing techniques rather than that Gumby edge rush that's making him a one-trick pony and susceptible to injuries. Wouldn't be surprised though if he's a potential cap casualty by the start of the offseason. Sucks we have to think of him this way, but I have tremendous respect for him not complaining about the non-holding calls he consistently gets.

I still think he is exclusively a 4-3 end and this system does not fit him. I hope I am wrong but has barely been a factor so far. I do not see him being on the roster next year. Love the guy and his effort, don't get me wrong, just is not working out. Hope I am wrong.

Nodoby to me has looked consistently stellar on D thus far - i have seen flashes of brilliance but nothing consistant yet on the defensive side of the ball to be able to draw any conclusions yet

With that said, I still believe Quinn is a weapon and ultimately he is gonna be a key contributor on our D

I like to keep in mind that whatever I see of Quinn on the field, Wade sees all.

He sees the practices, knows the guys personally, etc., so I will trust that Wade will get everyone playing well in his scheme by years end - hopefully this weekend !!!

Honestly I have thought each and every one of these thoughts here recently and I really do think he is content with the money.. I love me some Rob Quinn but I think it's time to trade his ass or let him go! To many talented peeps around to let him halfass his effort out there.

He is as of right now just a former name and that is it.

People might say something about the 4-3 but he was not great in the 4-3 for how long? And Wade's scheme is very similar to a 4-3 anyways, or as close as you can get. He's spent. Time to cut bait.

The Rams defense is not the same without Quinn getting to the QB.

I was really hoping he came back close to his old self before the injuries. I guess there is a little hope remaining for me that he has been working his way back to his old self. So far he seems to be hurting the defense more than helping it. Injuries happen to the best of them and once they lose their ability to produce you can only wait so long. In Chris Long's case even though he couldn't stay healthy he was a leader I think they missed. Something about his work ethic and personality added to the team beyond sack totals.

“Im not going to call him out”

Proceeds to call him out.

With that being said, I’m in the boat of allowing him some time in this new scheme doing what he’s never been asked to do before.

Haha. I didn't feel like I called him out. I discussed what I've seen on the field (or haven't seen), yes. But I'm not calling him out in the usual sense someone would do so. I'm just concerned about our defense. We need some defense to get to the playoffs.

BTW I am also in your boat. He may need more time. But think about this. What did he really do the last couple years?

IMO, his issue is that he was never one to win with great pass rushing moves. He was just so amazing at speed rushing, but injuries to his back likely effected his ability to bend like he use to making his speed rush much less effective and he doesn't have a spin or swim move or fall back on

Money aside, if he's hurt or not giving 100% effort, he needs to sit. His glory year was a long time ago now. Produce or get out of the way of Longacre. It's that simple. Hope he shows up Sunday.

You're not playing, so I think it's ok.

Quinn is constantly out of position and is a liability in the run game

ok, quite honestly, couldn't get past the first several sentences.

if you start talking about quinn and the first thing you say is he's a nice guy and not a complainer, you may be talking about your friend down the street named Robert quinn.

when you say he's made some great plays, you are obviously not talking about someone who has accomplished what he has.

but when you say, and this is when I wonder if you are being serious or in the midst of a serious binge of some kind, that he's well above average, then I'm at a loss for words.

no, wait, are you out of your damn mind?

Above average?? And then, well, used to be????

I'll try and get through the rest of this, well, I don't know what to call it, but I'll get back to it in the hope that there's actually a valid point. And if there is, I'll be all apologies, but if there isnt.....just imagine that scene in tombstone when Kurt has Ike in his barrel site at the train station and says you called down the thunder, well you got it!! You tell him I'm coming, AND I'M BRINGING HELL WITH ME!!!

Quinn needs to develop more than an outside move. He's gotta start using inside moves, bullrushes, and spins. LTs know what he's doing. Tyron Smith is an elite LT and will likely blank him this week. Quinn hasn't faced crap at LT this year (Castonzo, Trent Williams, Staley, and now Tyron), but I expected more out of him.

Robert Quinn is a genuine homeboy to myself.
His parents live about 15 minutes away from me.
I've hung around him several times and talked to him on more than one occasion.
He is one of the most polite, nice, hard-working people you'll ever want to meet.
A very genuine gentleman and a fine human being.

That said, he has not been the same since the severe back injury and surgery.

He will be an off-season reevaluation like they do on every player, but yeah, I don't see him going forward with us next year.
If he improves, they might reevaluate his contract and see if they want to keep him.

I agree with the entire D still getting used to the new scheme especially the players who haven't looked like their old selves, but I'd start looking for Quinn's replacement immediatelly anyway. Barwin's too. Rams need a dominant outside rusher or 2 like Von Miller (or even the old Quinn) pretty badly so these QBs don't have all that time to throw. If stiffs like Hoyer can do that to us, look out.

I see Quinn and keep thinking he's fixing to make a play but it just isn't happening. I fear his better days of play might be behind him. It does look like he's satisfied with just being in the NFL at this point. I hope most of us are wrong and he goes off this week.

He looks good coming from the left side on a couple occasions. Good to see. I like to see him mixing spots.

Wade said he & Barron made a bunch of tackles last weeks& are just adjusting to the defense since they sat out most of the preseason.

I'll give him time to adjust like the rest of the defense. Remember when Gregg first took over the defense didn't start clicking til after the midway point of the season. hoping it doesn't take that long with Wade but we'll see
