Foster struggles with pass-protection. I think we'll be drafting around the middle of the draft, 13-16 (I don't think we're a playoff team, even when Kupp comes back. The offensive line - Avila and Havenstein aside - is incredibly concerning, especially in regards to Stafford's health (I know he's a badass, but he's in his mid-thirties, and obviously has his limits.

As we've already witnessed to a degree, an aging but quality passing QB like Stafford can extend his career by enhancing his running game, and Foster can do just that. Draft a top LT with our first pick and paired with Avila, Stafford's blind side is well protected until he retires. A run blocking specialist at RG shouldn't have an adverse effect on Staff. Of course, the Rams also have the option of re-signing Dotson before he hits free agency.

Would rather draft Newton then Corleone. I'm telling you, those two kids are going to be absolute studs, and they're exactly the kinds of players McVay wants.

I'm NOT trying to say that Newton is equivalent to Carter. What I am trying to clearly say is that the same reasons why we drafted AD when we had Brockers and Langford is the same reason why the Eagles - who clearly didn't NEED to pick a defensive lineman with a recent top fifteen pick at defensive tackle last year in Jordan Davis and a borderline HOFer in Fletcher Cox along with a host of pretty damn good defensive linemen - picked Jalen Carter, and is thus the same reason why I want to select Jer'Zahn Newton, who is clearly, in my opinion, the best defensive tackle in this class and the closest comparison I've seen to Aaron Donald since Aaron Donald.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude OldSchool, I've dealt with a fair bit of shit today, and I apologize if I'm coming off as rude, but I am not comparing Newton to Carter. I am merely stating that the same reasons why the Eagles took Carter (being BPA defensive player on the board), the same reasons why we took AD (best defensive player on the board), is why we should take Newton, who will be the best defensive player on the board when we pick.
Donald was a clear upgrade over Langford as a 3 tech in the 4-3 we were playing then. AD was projected to go in the 5-10 range and fell to 13. Newton from what I read is rated in the 10-18 range from the same sites which obviously can change. I'm not saying he wouldn't be good for the Rams. I'm saying there are bigger and better upgrades for us.

I get it you like the guy and want him as a Ram. I have said and will continue to say we're better with our current front 3 and adding one of the handful of Edge rushers to our LB group behind AD than we will be adding Newton. I don't give a single care about Newton being rated higher than any of our DL other than AD.

I have said Newton is the best DT in the class that's not in dispute at all.

I have said Newton is a very good player.

If Verse, Turner, Robinson, Latu or Tuimoloau our defense is immensely better IMO. Turner is a nice upgrade but doesn't have the same affect IMO as putting Young and one of those 5 behind AD and IMO it's not even close.

That all said my preference is one of the LT in the 1st round because if we can't upgrade that spot we may end Staffords career prematurely and we need to upgrade that for him and for our run game. Then we add an edge later.

Give me Alt or Morgan or Barton who most sites have the same prospect grade as Newton.

We're never gonna agree on this so I'll bout out remind you I love your draft work and hope you have a great evening.

No thank you to an ilb in round one.
This year, no way we'd do that, even with a likely trade down. I like that Alabama dude you posted. Going to continue watching him.

IMO for sure going to be a LT, QB, OLB with our first rounder if we still have one knowing McSnead.
We'll see about Donald retiring as a Ram. There have been a lot of rumors that link him to Pittsburgh, if not outright retirement.

Foster struggles with pass-protection. I think we'll be drafting around the middle of the draft, 13-16 (I don't think we're a playoff team, even when Kupp comes back. The offensive line - Avila and Havenstein aside - is incredibly concerning, especially in regards to Stafford's health (I know he's a badass, but he's in his mid-thirties, and obviously has his limits.), and aside from AD, Byron Young, and Kobie Turner, we have not been getting pressure. Now, BB3 and Desjuan Johnson have been impressive last game, but it was against an injured Colts offensive line (two of their starters were out).

Even if we do sign an elite edge rusher (which I hope we do), I would love to have backups better than Kier, Hoecht, and Mathis. Hence why I want to sign YGM to a one-year "prove it" contract, and why I'm drafting a raw edge with upside in Braswell.
I can't remember now but it sounded like in a interview that he wanted to retire after the SB, they talked him out of it and 2024 is that window that was established.

I'm starting to become a fan of Dotson. Curious to see how he does in the next quarter of a season.

Yeah, if Alt’s not there, I’m going for Brock Bowers and Luther Burden III in rounds one and two. Higbee will likely be gone, Hopkins will definitely be gone, and Kupp will be thirty one. We need an elite tight end like Bowers and a true number two/potential number one receiver like Burden.

Bowers does not strike me as the high character/leader type that the current Rams regime would be interested in. Plus McVay is married to his 11 personnel. I don’t think an early round TE will ever be in the cards for the Rams.

Just did a mock with us drafting #19. SOB! What IMO I'd take these 3 first rounds. I want a legit LT or pass rusher but maybe FA for a OLB and LT and take a QB of the future with 2-3 years to learn under Stafford?

Corum with elite contact balance?

Starting to like Quinyon Mitchell the little I just looked into him.

Stud Edge, starting quality RB, starting center, rotational NT, speed outside WR who can return punts too, development LT and Limmer a nice guard.

Well, Bowers would be joining his former QB who can take on a mentor role to keep Bowers on the right path.

I don’t either.
But he did spend an early pick on Everett his 1st draft.

He also drafted a FB…which he never intended to use.

I think he's the bizzaro Ramsey. Ramsey was considered an elite prospects who might be a safety or a corner. I feel the same about him but I think that he'll get blazed as a cornerback so he should probably be a safety.

Tight ends scare me these days. They're seldom the focal point of an offense. Is he Travis Kelce or TJ hockensen?

He's out right now but Quinn Ewers is an intriguing QB prospect too.
