Kind of sort of but not really true. They're not giving him the ERFA tender but they may sign him back at less money than that tender. He was paid $825k last year the tender was $2.6 million.Rams not offering QB Bryce Perkins a contract as per ESPN.
No, you're not. But I think the lazy media is running with that, as opposed to the real story which is the Rams are dumping salary/cap, and know this year probably is not going to go well regardless how hard they try.Am I the only one who hates the "it's all for 2024" shit? Like, what? We're supposed to be OK with punting a season away?
I wont I will actually need help cleaning cause I will break shit. It doesnt sit well with me and i bet most. I have to believe they have at least a plan to be above average but also bigger eye on 2024 loser mentality has not been the vibes of this front office and coaching. Im ok with growing pains but you better put some competent players out there even if 1 yr deals etc. Need to see how the rest of this unfolds. After Stafford went down last year, it became a bunch of preseason games with a lucky win against the Raiders and a win against the even more preseason team Broncos
I am thinking this will be more of the same this year. Oh well - at least I can get work done around the house on Sundays.
Edit - I see a lot of triple teaming on Donald with no edge support
I agree, but really fear for Stafford's physical health. No, you're not. But I think the lazy media is running with that, as opposed to the real story which is the Rams are dumping salary/cap, and know this year probably is not going to go well regardless how hard they try.
At the same time, '24 will look way better, and they are thinking "let's do all we can to make '24 really great", since, again, this year we're simply not in a good place, and can't do much about it.
What people don't get is that they were $3M over the 24' cap with only 33 players under contract. No, you're not. 100 fucking %Holmes was director of college scouting so he had little to no influence over free agent additions or subtractions or trades so not sure why this has been a recurring saying with some people lately. And our drafts before and after Holmes have roughly the same hit and miss picks. I like Holmes and I wish we still had him but this revisionist history that Holmes was the brains behind everything good that happened to the Rams up to their Super Bowl win is weird.
“Hey you will root for 7-9 and like it jabroni” - Jeff Fisher circa 2015I'm really baffled at the fact that we are losing a lot of players (solid guys, not game changers except Ramsey) with little cap being used so far, and little draft capital to replace those departures and people don't think we'll take a step back if we don't add solid talent? Don't get me wrong, I'm going to root my ass off for us to win every game like I have since I became a Ram fan at the tender age of 7, but I just can't ignore we'll be showing up with knives to a gun fight if we don't get more ammo.
@psycho too.100 fucking %
Holmes had little to do outside of an opinion maybe in drafting/FA. His job and what people think he did are two different things and the reason the believe these loco things is they have zero idea how our FO is structured which gives me an idea with the other looney tune BS they type.

Best to draft a few running QB's in the draft!I agree, but really fear for Stafford's physical health.

Ok? Didn't say anything to the contrary, said I wish we still had Holmes. He was a great hire by Detroit.@psycho too.
Holmes was the main college talent evaluator. He was Les’s right hand man and he got high praise from his peers. He couldn’t make the picks but helped in the process. Maybe Les and Sean didn’t always take his advice.
Detroit wanted Holmes for a reason and since he’s been in Detroit he has been drafting better than the Rams, even if you take the first and second round picks out of the equation.
Yeah but to suggest Holmes was the brain trust behind every good pick is hyperbole and ridiculous. He was in the room and team that Snead put together. Was Brad Holmes there by accident? Did Snead get Holmes forced on him? No. He was chosen to be apart of the team and promoted from within by Les Snead!@psycho too.

Somewhere, Wolfy is smiling….Rams not offering QB Bryce Perkins a contract as per ESPN.
Who said all of that? Are you replying to multiple people? I didn’t even read it all because it isn’t what I said. Maybe you need to not take it so seriously.Yeah but to suggest Holmes was the brain trust behind every good pick is hyperbole and ridiculous. He was in the room and team that Snead put together. The idea that Holmes was the brains behind everything is laughable at best. And those of those that believe have ZERO clue the amount of personal and people that are part of the scouting department of an NFL franchise not to mention the Rams where the have more positions and people than most.
Now he might be talented, and i love listening to Holmes talk, obviously there he a is knowledgeable and intelligent nfl personal.
Also drafting at the top of a round is a no brainer and a lot easier to find long lasting talent, Detroit over the last 2 years have had some of the highest picks.
For instance round 1 of a draft there is a lot of discrepancy with talent to the bottom of the round. Same goes with round 2, 3,4,5,6,7 even though that discrepancy chasm might not be as big the farther up the rounds you go, but it’s a lot easier to pick quality starters/players.
