Ok gotta ask since there was no blue font, really??I think that's one of the best signings of the day.
Yeah, I am serious. I think Ward is a good young cornerback.Ok gotta ask since there was no blue font, really??
I don’t recall anyone in the chef’s secondary standing out this year.
I think Ward is a quality young CB but I would match-up my hate for the 49ers with any Rams' fan. That means, I hope I am wrong here, and that you are correct about Ward being just mediocre.I love it! Pay up the ass for medicore talent. Fuck the Whiners!
Imo opinion it was a lot of money for Ward, but maybe he ends up being a more versatile part in their defensive backfield. He was drafted by the Cowboys in 2018 out of Middle Tennessee State. Maybe Lynch sees signs of a player continuing to develop?Ok gotta ask since there was no blue font, really??

Not that PFF is what he end-all-be-all, but they gave him a grade of 65.7. If the Niners did overpay for a mediocre cornerback then in my book it makes it a great move!I think Ward is a quality young CB but I would match-up my hate for the 49ers with any Rams' fan. Well I agree their drafting has been bad. But this is the first draft for a new regime. They have a high caliber QB talent. There were some pieces, they are bringing in a ton of guys they want on top plus a big draft haul here next month.I'm not in agreement there.
When a team spends so much, so quickly, and on that many players (seven today), it reflects horrible drafting and developing. They have too much money to spend on other teams free agents. Other teams that have drafted and developed well; and therefore, don't have enough money to re-sign all their own players.
And there are few bargains early in Free Agency. Just about everyone gets paid well; and many get over-paid.
I don't see any bargains in the Jaguars signings; and a couple of "What-the-Hel!l" signings.
Just my opinion
Very true but this is a team that acknowledged bad leadership changed GM and HC (twice now) and is rebuilding. These kind of off seasons are needed. Heck remember back to when Snead and Fisher came on board? It was the same thing I think we had one off season that on the 53 man roster we replaced 32 or so guys. It has to happen sometimes. Now if 2 or 3 years from now they're doing the same then that's bad news.I'm not in agreement there.

Not big fan of PFF but I did a quick search, and found two PFF Free Agent Rankings (all positions). The first is not dated, and has Ward listed as the 50th best free agent. The second was dated March 14th, and it had Ward listed as the 39th best free agent. Not that PFF is what he end-all-be-all, but they gave him a grade of 65.7. Expensive and interesting at the same time. Lawrence gets a lot of new help with the O-line and WR room. They still have first picks in the draft. That's five picks in the first 105 spots. They have options to move around. A good draft haul and they can make a big move up the power ranking. I'm looking forward to seeing what Lawrence can do with the better talent around him.
- Round 1 (Pick 1)
- Round 2 (Pick 33)
- Round 3 (Pick 65)
- Round 3 (Pick 70 from Panthers)
- Round 4 (Pick 105)
- Round 5 (Pick 157 from Vikings)
- Round 6 (Pick 179)
- Round 6 (Pick 187 from Seahawks)
- Round 6 (Pick 196 from Eagles)
- Round 6 (Pick 197 from Steelers)
- Round 7 (Pick 220)
- Round 7 (Pick 233 from Ravens)

I'm in the same neighborhood, and watch way too much Giants football. That's why I like Engram on a 1 year prove it deal like that. As a rook, the McAdoo offense used him properly, he is what he is. Basically a big bodied WR, but never going to be an inline blocker. The cat is dangerous as a receiver but once they drafted Saquon and went all in on running the ball, they square peg round holed him.I've seen a lot of him here in NYC, and I am not a fan.
Flashes but also disappoints; and is often nicked-up. Of course it's tough to evaluate with so many different head coaches, offensive coordinators, weak QB-play, ineffective running game and horrible OL-play.
Aside from that, the Giants' offense has been pretty good.
Woods wasnt being paid even close to top dollar though, even at the time it seemed like a "cheap" deal. And the career stats were a lot closer than you would think despite Woods playing in a low passing volume offense while Kirk has played mostly in a system throwing the ball 30-40 times a gameI was puzzled by the Kirk overpay. Huge risk there. But I remember when we took a huge risk on Robert Woods when we were WR deficient. He came in and balled out. His career stats at the time were inferior to Kirk's.

Pretty good signing
Somehow, someway we have to make sure we're able to improve our roster over last year. TB didn't even try last year and we saw what happened.
From listening to Cowherd it seems that the Buccaneers let up after winning the Super Bowl. Brady said yo the press more than once that they need to tighten things up, have more discipline.Somehow, someway we have to make sure we're able to improve our roster over last year.
