Expensive and interesting at the same time. Lawrence gets a lot of new help with the O-line and WR room. They still have first picks in the draft. That's five picks in the first 105 spots. They have options to move around. A good draft haul and they can make a big move up the power ranking. I'm looking forward to seeing what Lawrence can do with the better talent around him.

  • Round 1 (Pick 1)
  • Round 2 (Pick 33)
  • Round 3 (Pick 65)
  • Round 3 (Pick 70 from Panthers)
  • Round 4 (Pick 105)
  • Round 5 (Pick 157 from Vikings)
  • Round 6 (Pick 179)
  • Round 6 (Pick 187 from Seahawks)
  • Round 6 (Pick 196 from Eagles)
  • Round 6 (Pick 197 from Steelers)
  • Round 7 (Pick 220)
  • Round 7 (Pick 233 from Ravens)

Is this the way to build a team? At least, with the exception of Scherff, they are all pretty young.
I think the Jags are having a great offseason. But the funny thing is everything still comes down to the kid QB stepping up. As talented as he is, he's gonna have to study his ass off for them to win. I assume he's going to do the work though. He strikes me as a competitive dude.

Pretty good value there, would have signed up for that
I've seen a lot of him here in NYC, and I am not a fan.

Flashes but also disappoints; and is often nicked-up. Of course it's tough to evaluate with so many different head coaches, offensive coordinators, weak QB-play, ineffective running game and horrible OL-play.
Aside from that, the Giants' offense has been pretty good.

I'm not in agreement there.

When a team spends so much, so quickly, and on that many players (seven today), it reflects horrible drafting and developing. They have too much money to spend on other teams free agents. Other teams that have drafted and developed well; and therefore, don't have enough money to re-sign all their own players.

And there are few bargains early in Free Agency. Just about everyone gets paid well; and many get over-paid.
I don't see any bargains in the Jaguars signings; and a couple of "What-the-Hel!l" signings.

Just my opinion

I tend to agree with you. How many of these free agents actually play up to their contracts? How many elevate the team they go to?

I think most successes happen when players sign with a team that is already good on their side of the ball.

Brandon Scherff ... no numbers yet but have to believe contract averages between $12-$16M-per-year
Spotrac has it at three years / $49.5M. Scherff is excellent but ... YIKES!

$16.5M per-year for a guard that last played 16 games when Jeff Fisher was still a head coach.

Overpay for at least decent or proven talent, like Allen Robinson.

Kirk is a decent #2, who getting devonte Adams money.
I was puzzled by the Kirk overpay. Huge risk there. But I remember when we took a huge risk on Robert Woods when we were WR deficient. He came in and balled out. His career stats at the time were inferior to Kirk's.

that's because he spent most of the games blocking for shady mccoy.
