It's just easy to include the Rams in any trade for an edge rusher, but I concur scheme is not the best fit here plus Chicago would have to pick up the majority of the salary too. Going to agree that Rams looking for more of an OLB type then DE.
Scheme fit is perfect, no?
The Rams D, with Morris, was at it's peak when it could rush 4 on passing downs, and, as a result, completely crush an offense when it sent a 5th.
I think you'd rotate that position.. even with Quinn.. at his age to get the best out on passing downs.

Would give em a 4th at best for Quinn? Love the player but he's too long in the tooth for me to send a 2nd and a 3rd.

A) I don’t think it’ll happen as OBJ is the addition priority

B) agree he’s not a scheme for as Quinn is def a 4-3 DE

C) it’d THRILL AD… and what wouldn’t the Rams do to make AD happy?

I dunno, but we literally in the NFL doldrums (great word by the way, look up the historical context, I found it pretty interesting) and figured I’d share what amounts to Rams news hard tack…

I’m so looking forward to this season

Agree. I think Rams hold tight and see what they have at Edge. Save the $$ for roster options. Then like last year see how the season unfolds and make a move or two to bolster. They also want to retain enough $$ to be in play for bringing OBJ on board.

Rumor is that we’re trading a 2nd and 3rd to the Bears for Quinn…

Thoughts?
Hate it. I view Quinn as useful as situational pass rusher at this point in his career. I'd rather try Garrett in that role first. Younger. Cheaper. More tread on the tires. Less injury history.

But if the Rams think Quinn is worth that price-tag, they obviously view him as someone that can come in and contribute in a meaningful way beyond being a passing down specialist. I would defer to them fully. Their pro scouting is far and away the best in the NFL. Their hit-rate is out of this world and defies NFL reality. They've earned deference on pro-level trade and free agent targets.

Quinn had 18 sacks and 22 TFLs last year. Who wouldn’t want that on their team? A 2nd and 3rd is too much to give but if the Bears paid most of the contract I could see a 3rd or fourth.

The question is,what do the Rams have in Garrett and Hardy. If they made a trade it would be late in camp or later. I’m sure they want to see these guys in preseason.

Didn't we give up a 2 and a 3 for Von and Denver had to pick up basically the rest of his salary? So I can see us giving up a 2 and 3 and paying half his salary I loved Quinn one of my favorite Rams at that time but not worth the same price as Von.

The article also goes on to say Van Jefferson for Quinn. That's a no a good idea I'm theory but not for an older player even if they pick up half his salary. I know we are deep at the position especially if we got Obj bk later but no. Makes all the sense in the world though for the bears to get Fields a WR like that to grow with. Pass on that though.

Only way I trade Van is if I know for sure obj is coming bk and most importantly for another young player just examples but like a Montez Sweat....Brian Burns....Allen....etc

Yeah it's funny how he's a different guy with the Rams now. He gives them respect. So his content is easier to listen to for me even though I still don't like the dude based on years of him shitting on our team.

Where I've always valued his takes is in the business side of the NFL. He's a smart dude in that respect.

And re: Asshole Face I find the question of where he ends up to be very interesting. For some reason it just seems like Seattle will be in the running for him too. Hope not but it would figure. Dolphins would be great though. Way the hell away from us and makes life harder on Belicheat in his twilight years. :laugh2:

The Dolphins thing was going to be with Brady as QB. I wonder if that is still possible. If so, then Dolphins vs Patriots would be very interesting twice a year.

But it seems clear that Payton wants to be on a win now team. Is that the Phins? I know Jerruh would want him but is Dak really the type of QB that Payton feels he can win with?

Right now the Chargers fit the requirements with the exception of the owner. I could see them ditching, the hired too soon, Staley in favor of an offensive mind. It would sell better to a newish fan base. If that were to happen and the Rams DC Morris were to impress enough in a second season to land a head coaching job, then it would open the door for a Staley return to the Rams!

Report: Leonard Fournette weighs almost 260 pounds, Bucs coaches aren’t happy

Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette has reportedly drawn the ire of the team’s coaching staff by letting himself get out of shape this offseason.

Longtime Buccaneers beat writer Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times said on his podcast that Fournette, who is listed at 228 pounds, actually weighs about 30 pounds more than that.

“The last time we saw Leonard Fournette he was about a donut shy of 260,” Stroud said. “He certainly didn’t look like a guy who could play every down.”

Fournette decided not to participate in voluntary Organized Team Activities, and when he showed up at mandatory minicamp, the coaches felt he has a long way to go to get into playing shape.

“Coaches were not happy, and that’s an understatement, when he didn’t participate in the OTAs, but then he shows up at the mandatory minicamp weighing damn near 260,” Stroud said. “And that’s not a good sign for a guy that you just spent a three-year contract on.”

The Buccaneers spent a third-round draft pick on running back Rachaad White, and they have running backs Ke'Shawn Vaughn, Giovani Bernard and Kenjon Barner on the depth chart as well. All of those backups may need to get themselves ready for the possibility that Fournette is going to need more breathers than usual.

Seems like this is a story for Fournette every couple of seasons where he shows up grossly out of shape... or maybe I'm thinking of someone else? Either way, good.

Anything that weakens Tom Brady's team is good. No Gronk and now a limited fat Fournette!

He's claiming the 260 is an exaggeration something in the range of 245 when I think the played last year at 235.
