Then how did Belicheat know who got the job before it was announced?
The minute the Giants hired Shoen it was only a matter of time.
Heck, @den-the-coach were arguing about it 2 weeks ago and neither one of us has an "affiliation" with the team either. And mind you, this exchange happened before the BB text...

Jaguars are officially the dumbest franchise out there. Should've hired Leftwich.
Would have required Khan to fire Baalke which he apparently wouldn't do. BTW we now have Pederson vs Reich twice a year :D

Belichick said he heard it from NYG and Buffalo. He didn't say he was guessing.
That he's their guy. Which everyone knew was likely the case the minute Shoen was hired. If BB heard anything, it was likely along the lines of Daboll would have to royally eff up his interview to not get the job. But what that text also shows is Flores elation at the idea that he was the guy even before his interview. If this is all about morals and high ground, why wouldnt he have gone ballistic then?

Baalke basically undermined Jim Harbaugh and was a poor drafter, to boot. Khan was an idiot to hire him and Urban Liar, and now he's doubling down on Baalke instead of hiring a competent HC and a competent GM.

They're easily the worst run franchise out there. It's hard to believe, considering the Raiders and Commodes (I still can't believe they didn't at least choose Red Hogs.) out there, but Jacksonville is so fucking incompetent, and Khan doesn't help with his meddling. His son's no better either, having run his "professional" wrestling gig into the ground.

The Khans are doodoo with the Jaguars but AEW is killing it right now. They are beating Raw in 18-32 demo.

That's a false equivalence. It's not unprincipled for Flores to want to land a job and be happy when he thinks he's going to get it. It's not unprincipled for him to be irate when he finds out that the Giants aren't really even considering him for the job but are still going to waste his time with an interview (possibly to satisfy the Rooney Rule).

It's not "if BB heard anything." The texts make very clear he did. And he made it sound like it was basically a done deal.

Imagine if this bozo bought the Rams. It would have been more of the same except worse. And when I say more of the same I mean the linehan and spags years.

I was so happy when he missed out. I trusted stan much more than him. Then again I wasn't worried where the Rams played. Stan had been around the nfl for years. Khan had no experience and it shows in the worst possible way.

Yeah, but you were just speculating. Belicheat knew.

Maybe it's just like the draft. People talk. For instance, every team knew the Seahawks were picking Russell Wilson in round three. The Rams knew they couldn't wait any longer to pick Kupp, because they were told the Ravens were going to pick him with their next pick, etc,...

I’m the last person to defend Belichick, but whatever he knew was second hand and may or may not have been accurate. But I’m sure he will enjoy rhe opportunity to explain everything as a witness.

I'll tell you what. I don't like this deal with coaches interviewing and getting "informally" hired before the team's season has ended.

For example, Kevin O'Connell, no matter what he says or does, loses an edge with the team knowing he's gone and off to Minnesota. It can't be ignored.

Yeah. They really need to hold all that shit until after the Super Bowl. I think the entire league benefits from that even though most will still be working their staffs behind the scenes.

Really doesn’t matter what BB knew or said. As the Giants stated, he doesn’t represent them. And, apparently the Flores interview had nothing to do with the Rooney Rule they had already met those requirements.

It’s nothing but sour grapes and playing the race card because that’s all he’s got. And now, he’ll fuck up any other chances he might have had to get a job in the league.

The Rooney rule and the whole idea that some ethnicity should get favored treatment is bullshit.

I think it was created because old racist white men kept hiring the same retread shit white coaches after they failed miserably.

If the old coots just signed the best man for the job none of it would have happened.

.

having said that the rule also gives them an out even if they never have any intention of signing a minority head coach.

they can wipe their hands clean and say they followed all protocols but the white coach was the best candidate for their team.

it not perfect but until someone suggests something better it's here to stay.
