IMO, coaching is 65% of success in the NFL

Its the Patriots, the media is going to blow hot air up anyone's ass that plays for them. In 2008 with Cassel they missed the playoffs (with a 11-5 record mind you, but they weren't winning because of Cassel). This year they started 3-1, but again its not like it was next man up Brady scmady. They got shut out by a bad Buffalo team. squeeked by the Cardinals and Dolphins, and kicked the tar out of a Belichick disciple led Texans team (for the record, his proteges usually don't fair too well when playing him).

Coaching plays a role, sure it does. But again without good players teams and coaches do nothing. Especially at QB. I'm more than comfortable saying I think the Pats have no rings without Brady, and especially without the taping signals bs they were getting away with.

If you miss the playoffs at 11-5, that's not your fault.

Also, winning is winning. Crappy teams, squeaked by, barely whatever... Winning is winning. No rings without that guy... I can buy that.

Cheating is 15℅ of winning, at least.

Kiper's Top 25

Those three LT staring at us at the end of that list. Teasing us with the possibility of being there with our pick. I'd love it if Bolles fell but I just can't see it happening.

Tackles always rise as you near draft day though it seems. They'll be mocked higher and higher as the draftniks try to align their boards to the reality of teams needing them. Just not enough of those guys, which is why I have written off LT for us this year. This year will be about improving the rest of it, and they'll have a pick they can do something with next year even if they have to move up to get LT settled.

Falcons blew 5 (five) 4th quarter leads in 2016

Scoring defense man, that's the indicator with the big games. The Falcons came about as close as a > 25ppg allowed team can to winning it all. Just ain't gonna happen in most years.

You want to be sub 20ppg allowed. Preferable sub 17ppg tbh, and if you're in that neighborhood you got a chance. Hoping that's where we're at next year under Wade, and while some might scoff it's possible. Dude is that good and he's got some talent to work with on this defense.

New Rams QB coach Greg Olson on Jared Goff

I hope that they all share the basic philosophy when it comes down to the position - otherwise you'll have backroom fighting and everyone trying to be Alpha Male.
McVay spoke on this, and it is one of the most important
fundamentals of coaching.A confused player is not a
productive player.I have no worries,McVay is a smart
man and would not allow this to happen.

How many Rams make the Pro Bowl from Wade's '17 D?

Assuming injuries are not a factor, of course.

I could see maybe as many as four. Starters, mind you, although not necessarily All Pro's.

Aaron Donald (duh)
Robert Quinn
Alec Ogletree
Tru Johnson (if he stays)

I believe that Wade is that good and will put his playmakers in position to make more plays.

No disrespect intended for GW, but Wade is the superior DC. Hands down, if you ask me.

Four starting Pro Bowlers would be an amazing haul, huh?

Did I miss anybody?
I could see either Brockers or Barron making it too!(y);):yess:

McVay and coaches news conference.

I can't wait to see what our O is going to look like, I love the fact that he wants our passing game to be a threat - no matter who's catching WR, RB or TE - sound good :)

Absolutely and IMHO I believe McVay was able to get top tier assistants, which is always a battle for a new coaching staff. Phillips, LaFleur, Kromer & Olson I'm sure were coaches he was hoping to get and then did. Really looking forward what this regime does in free agency with hope that their number one priory should be Cowboys offensive guard Ronald Leary IMHO.

Corey Davis injured. Could miss combine.

Zay Jones
Ishmael Zamora
Cooper Kupp
Juju Smith
Chris Godwin

Are all guys I like right now. Not all will be available then, but some will be. There are also a few guys that I'd like to get a look at who are likely to go in that range or close to it (Amara Darboh, Taywan Taylor, Josh Reynolds, Isaiah Ford, Malachi Dupre, Carlos Henderson, Chad Hansen, and Josh Malone).

Travin Dural had a good of practice at the Senior Bowl. I'm surprised you didn't list him.

Jrry32 First Mock of February

I'm a fan of this mock @jrry32 and find that it could be very realistic. Interesting signing Center Steve Wisniewski as the Rams had multiple opportunities to sign him in the past, IMHO, my hope under this scenario would be for Toth to beat him out, but I'm interested to see how Kromer evaluates Demetrius Rhaney, who IMHO, had a very strong preseason in 2016.

Surprised Sam took this long

I feel sorry for him. He'll never know if he got a fair shake, but I can say with certainty that he got a fair shake here. Westbrooks beat him out for the job.

With the Rams stacked at DL, Sam had very little chance of making the roster, but the Rams did give him the oportunity to have some game film against other NFL players for other teams to see and give him a shot.
