49'ers The San Francisco 49’ers Thread

We're also better than Seattle, though I do get the "OMG, we'll need to play a flawless game or we're fucked" worry. Rams fans still suffer PTSD from the Linehan-Spagnuolo-Fisher years. Hell, most Ram fans are underestimating how good this team happens to be right now. And they're getting better!!
Yes, we can shut down their running game and they only pass it to JSN. Our offense is a lot more versatile.

Blake Corum

Personally, I like the change of pace roles these two have going...
tbh, it's what I was hoping for this offseason. Many complained about KW's bag he got, but it was perfect to me, for the role he plays in this offense - an unstoppable grinder who'll get you those 5.5 yards every time he carries it. We are #1 (!) in lowest yards-to-go in 3rd down sitches. Literally 5.5 yards is our average & it's the lowest in the NFL. When we play with a lead, KW just grinds the other team down.
Throw in BC, and you get some of that explosiveness we've been wanting to see. He can convert a 3rd down but shines when he bounces outside & just outruns the LBs. It won't be long until he's got a really long run under his belt.
Gosh, having Hunter as a guy who you could give the ball to with a 4th Q lead... after the D is completely gassed.... lookout

OFFICIAL 2025 NFL News: Trades, cuts, free agency, and more

:eyeroll: What the league wants is for there to be a real effort made to not have helmet to helmet contact. Unintentional to the league means the defender didn't even give it a thought. That is not acceptable. After having his pocket dipped into it will cross his mind at some point in future action.
Yup, all that is left is stripping them of helmets, strapping on flags and trying to pass it off as “football”.

LEGEND The "Last Thing I Bought" Thread

Anyway... sorry for the sideways pics. I gave up trying to figure out how to rotate them.
The image resizer is awesome. It allows members to upload straight from their phones. No hassle.

I believe photos taken with your phone portrait it flips them 90 degrees resizing.

If photos are taken with phone in landscape they post here fine.

Still troubleshooting this one.

LEGEND Food Porn

My wife and I went out to celebrate our 22nd anniversary last night. Went to a cool place called Otto's High Dive (Neighborhood Rum Bar). Mainly a Rum bar but is also a Michelin Stared restaurant.

I snapped a pic of our seafood tower appetizer. The poke had watermelon in it and it was awesome. That stuff next to the poke was some kind of lobster concoction loaded with lobster and it was amazing too. As were the oysters and shrimp. They had a homemade cocktail sauce for the shrimp that put it over the top. We killed that whole thing in minutes lol.

Sorry, I still can't figure out how to rotate the pics... but it's better than nothing.

That looks pretty good and even I could find something on that to eat. :D

UFOs

This dude should be getting paid by NASA for what he's doing. Also he deserves attention by the media, but alas they're not particularly good at seeing what stories are until they're told they're important.

But Jean has found so many things on Mars that it is mind boggling. This one for example is really difficult to explain:

This one looks straight up like the remnants of an ancient settlement:

He's also got some cool stuff on Antarctica like this, which God knows what it might be:

Acts of Kindness Thread

The Story of Walter "Buck" Swords and Melina Salazar

Melina Salazar, a waitress at Luby's Restaurant in Texas (not sure which part) served a grumpy, curmudgeonly WW2 vet sitting at the exact table, every morning, like clockwork in Swords, who never tipped, never smiled, never gave so much as a compliment to her, demanded excellence every morning. She continued to do her job when everyone else questioned her for doing it, asked him how he was doing, getting his orders right.

One day, Swords stopped coming. Then it turned to another day, and Salazar was concerned. She tried checking everywhere, but it turned out that he had passed away at the age of 89, according to his obituary.

Then the executor of his will came over to the restaurant, and it turned out that that WW2 veteran did care, that he noticed Salazar treating him with kindness and dignity, and for that kindness, he gifted her $50,000 - all of the times he didn't tip, it turns out he was saving for one big thing - and his Buick in his will

So, when you see someone, anyone, really...it doesn't hurt to ask them how they're doing. It's never a waste of time to be kind to even the grouchiest person you know. You never know what positivity you can bring to even one life, just by doing that.

Your Tattoos

Wow. Long time since this thread's been used, but I can resurrect it for what I'm planning on getting on Monday.

I've had my tattoo for sixteen years. I figure this lone male wolf needs a mate and a full picture for their union aside from just a snow-covered ground. So, I went for a consultation this October, getting the picture showed for me on Monday, getting the tattoo mostly done for Monday (with more possibly in December, if the artist doesn't finish.

Gonna be black and gray because that's what my old tattoo is, and I wanted a black and gray picture. Took a while to find a guy who does black and gray well, but I found a guy, consulted with him, came up with a solid idea.

I promise to show y'all the full result when I get it.
