RamsOnDemand Update - Preview / New Stuff

As requested. Clicking on it sends me to a window sayingit is a secure connection and that all/any of my info is private on this site (ROD). So I guess that's good - right Stu?

(and it quit flashing a few years back, but I just can't throw it away)
I’ve never seen that before. But I think I’ve seen the exclamation point if I recall right. I’ve never clicked on it though. Can you do a screenshot of how the exclamation point shows up? Might have to get your granddaughter to do it for you again.

Midnight Mode

Yeah when comparing the "65 helmet's horn origination point in the front, the older one looks like it starts closer to the middle of the helmet than the newer, and latest versions do. The end of the horn on the older version also curls around the ear hole more noticeably.
The newer of these 3 is my least fave.

I'm not so sure

meaning..............

I actually do like the new horns , would I go back to the old horn ?

, yes , if they went back to the 70's versions

but somewhere along the line , I think it started in St Louis , for some reason , the horns started to get skinnier and skinner , and there towards the end , I ended up actually hating the horn , they didn't even look like horns anymore , they looked more like a piece of Christmas tinsel that got to close to the heat

Your Tattoos

Wow. Long time since this thread's been used, but I can resurrect it for what I'm planning on getting on Monday.

I've had my tattoo for sixteen years. I figure this lone male wolf needs a mate and a full picture for their union aside from just a snow-covered ground. So, I went for a consultation this October, getting the picture showed for me on Monday, getting the tattoo mostly done for Monday (with more possibly in December, if the artist doesn't finish.

Gonna be black and gray because that's what my old tattoo is, and I wanted a black and gray picture. Took a while to find a guy who does black and gray well, but I found a guy, consulted with him, came up with a solid idea.

I promise to show y'all the full result when I get it.

Moving to Florida

Congratulations on your move, as St. Pete is a great place to be, and while it takes some time to get used to the heat and humidity, the beaches, fishing and laid-back rhythms of life make it easy to adapt. Additionally, as you are searching for a job, I think it would be helpful to network locally as the Tampa-St. Pete area has a very nice blend of opportunities, and word-of-mouth, although antiquated, works and goes a long way down here. Housing moves rather quickly, so if you are selling in Arkansas, I would find a rental or short-term place to stay ahead of time. Florida registration and insurance also takes some time, so if you can, attend to that shortly after arrival.

It's completely normal to feel anxious, but I promise when you find yourself near the Gulf with a rod in your hand, you will remember why you have made the move.

Bonds to get a statue at Oracle

The steroid era tainted the MLB. But if guys don't come clean you can't prove they were juiced. At least beyond any reasonable doubt. So the records will stand. But is it fair to todays players who will never reach some of those records because they aren't getting help from steroids?

How do you know these records will stand forever? People thought Babe Ruth's homerun record would never be broken, then Hank Aarons came along then Barry Bonds..... many thought Ty Cobbs hitting streak would never be broken...... many thought Don Drysdale's consecutive inning streak would never be broken and along came Orel Hershiser....... and still nobody has hit .400 since Ted Williams, so can we assume Ted was on some sort of PED?

As for fair???? Life is far from fair and especially in sports where fairness is low on the totem pole.... Some athletes are just bigger, faster, quicker and manage to stay healthier than other athletes.

Those pussy BBWAA members never played pro sports and probably not even college sports and have zero clue having to play 160 games in a six month span..... fuck those nerds

Book recommendations

How about a podcast recommendation instead. I've been reading some history these last few years but I was turned onto by listening to Dan Carlin Hardcore History podcasts.

https://www.dancarlin.com/hardcore-history-series/

Truly great stuff. Dan has amazing way of relating history that really gives you the full flavor of the times. His older stuff is not available on the website for free, but is available to purchase for a few bucks. He did a 4 or 5 part series on Rome that must be 20 hours worth of podcast. Then another 3 on the Punic wars that was probably another 10 hours.

The ones currently on the website are 6 podcasts on WWI which are amazing and three parts on the Persian empire. Plus a few others.

I am a huge Dan Carlin fan. Huge.
I have a couple hundred audiobooks downloaded, over 90% is history or biography. And every HH episode. I travel a lot for work, and after working all day in a loud music environment, I need something more chill to listen to but I still need it to be compelling and engaging. When I can get all that and come away more knowledgeable while I'm at it? I'm in!

The most dominant athlete in the world

I think this might have to be re-named "The Shohei Ohtani" thread....
This guy is just doing shit that's unimaginable
9 times on base yesterday? Good grief

Easily. Even Robin Williams might be impressed with Ohtani. He's doing things at a level that hasn't been seen since Babe Ruth played, possibly exceeding that, considering his overall athletic profile (power, speed, average, and oh, yeah, he pitches better than most pitchers, too).

The Concerts Thread 2025

The last concert my wife and I went to was Taylors Eras Tour at Sofi for her birthday and that cost me $4200.

Keep in mind I really didn't know much about her and thought she was just another cheesy country artist. To my surprise I was absolutely blown away .... She sang and performed for three hours... she's a great guitar player, killer piano player.... Afterwards I kind of felt bad as I pigeon hole her as some no talent diva.... man I was wrong.

Anywho my top three concerts. And I've been to many:

1. Prince Purple Rain Tour (Forum)
2. Iron Maiden Peace of Mind Tour with Twisted Sister at the Long Beach Arena
3. Taylor Swift Eras Tour (Sofi)
