Mark Walter buys Lakers for $10 billion

The Rams lost a whole generation of LA fans during their time in St Louis. If you were a teen or young adult in the late 90's who wants to adopt a team as your favorite, are you gonna pick a team that used to be in your city and has been a perennial loser? Or that age the last ten years they were in St Louis? Probably not. Unless you like lovable losers. It'll probably take a whole new generation to get to the point where we don't see opposing fans taking over the stadium.
I'm not sure we will ever see a time when at least some visiting teams don't dominate our stadium. For the most part, an LA fan is not going to spend the kind of resources to fly out to Cleveland, Cincy, Philly, etc... for a football game. The LA residents also have multiple entertainment options that include many that don't cost them near as dearly. Meanwhile, fans from almost every other NFL city will continue to plan their vacations around going to LA and all its entertainment options.

I think we'll improve in this area and likely gain fans in other NFL cities. But I'd be surprised if we ever overcome the alure for a few teams' fans to invade SoFi. The LA fans dominated the Coliseum, but this is a new time and the NFL is just WAY too popular to go back to those times.

Colin Cowerd on Rams/Alaric Jackson 6/19

Not interested in a prolonged exchange on this. But there is a big difference.

Adding to one's argument that there are fans who exhibit an undesireable behavior, when it is exceedingly rare on this particular site, is like calling your 20 year old cousin to get you out of an after school fight.

Saying that everything the team does is good and positive and will inevitably work out is like saying "why talk about anything we can just all agree with everything they do." And where the fuck is the fun in that.

There's probably been a thousand exchanges here about this shit too. So no reason to belabor it. I simply have a hard time cruising past some shit when I see it laying in the road.
And yet you will prolong it, right?

There is a difference. I wasn't calling out anybody in particular. You were.

I wasn't adding to my argument, I was commenting on yours.

And I'm not trying to prolong anything, but I too have a hard time cruising past shit when I see it.

Rams draft visit tracking

You hindsight hammer wieldin sumbishes. :laugh2:

I suspect the Rams were considering Dart and the Giants didn't trust them, which is why they moved in front of the Rams to take him. Now some will point out the Giants had a "deal" in principle with the Rams, but that doesn't mean the Rams can't say they've had a change of heart when the pick is up and the player they want is there. Also it was rumored I think IIRC that the deal they found was cheaper, but if they're calling around for an earlier pick it might indicate the Giants didn't trust the Rams for a player they were hell bent on getting.

Either way I must concede that QB wasn't a big enough priority for the Rams for this season to where they felt it necessary to jump for any of them. That does make sense as well, since QB doesn't help us make a title run this year. And of course the trade offer from Atlanta was the type you cannot refuse. We'll never know for sure, since McVay and Snead are not going to let their real thoughts on these matters out. But I suspect the plan was they had two or three QBs slotted at two or three spots and none of them made it to those spots.

So I don't think Jourdan was wrong. Rams probably told her the truth. They just weren't willing to position for the QBs they liked.

Prayers to our troops

The US played this episode about as good as it could have been played. Offer the peace deal. Use the proxy to punish for non-compliance (which was ironic given Iran's love of proxies). Hit their ability to produce undesired materials and avoid suitcase nukes being made for terrorists.

Key now is let's not get tied up in nation building. If the Iranians rise up that would be great. But they have to want freedom and fight for it themselves or it means nothing. Khomeni and his regime will go to the table at some point.

One difference in Iran vs Iraq or Afganistan is the Iranians are not too far removed from knowing what a western system feels like. They are a capable and intelligent people, so I am rooting for them to rise up but who knows how this thing will turn out.
You nailed it Merlin. The Persians will want their country back

Any Buckethead fans?

I went to Englewood CO, the small venue was SOLD OUT I could barely move. At least I can say it was experienced but nothing like prior times. He did a solid 2 hour set but did not perform Soothsayer in it's entirety.

Denver Saturday night with 36 Mafia and Yelawolf was WILD. So happy I didn't drink much or smoke weed and drove the rental car safely back to Lone Tree hotel that night.

At least I hiked Red Rocks Saturday morning only to realize James Taylor was playing there that night. No complaints overall.

Rams potential Free Agents 2025

When he came in for the stretch run with a season and a Lombardi on the line, he showed his grit and experience and made the plays the Rams needed from him to win a title.

When he was signed to play an entire season, he stunk on ice.

There’s a lesson in there and the bills should know it now after the v miller signing.
Not SO Sure - ? I’m not going to go that far back because I’ll sort of disagree.
Then again how he went out & the amount of cap space was NO WHERE what he brought to The Rams defense. Well can go down that road though.I think just the relationship & leadership he brought was seen when he came back & WON The SUPERBOWL which wouldn’t have happened without him.
I will say he lost a step & it showed no doubt. He still walked away from money on the table to retire ? If I recall right ???

Could have had 10 more sacks

Let's be frank: if that's Stafford in the pocket, Verse is getting the sack. We just so happened to be facing one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the league at his best.
... and that is one of the areas Jerad simply has to get more efficient at: containing the edge on mobile QBs and elusive RBs. He also has to learn to finish sacks or tackles for loss. You cannot have elusive little QBs like the Cardinals midget ducking under your arms to live to make a play out of what should have been nothing.

He will get there. However, I love! the fact that he already sees he can improve so much more on what was an outstanding rookie campaign. :fistbump1:
