A few different national football pods I've listened to have discussed how unwise it seems to be to draft an off-ball LB high. Going from college defensive responsibilities and competing against NFL offenses make it incredibly tough to find players who are worth a high pick at that position. I think the Rams were just ahead of the league on that.

I agree with what Kurt Warner said. That the Greatest Show On Turf was the greatest offense ever, not because of one good season, but because they did it three years in a row and no other team has done that. Torry was a big part of that and he absolutely deserves a nod into the HOF. Not to mention he looked like a man playing among boys at times.

It was and it wasn't. The 1975 NFC Championship game brough me to tears at nine years of age. Knox made a huge mistake after the Rams best post season performance under him defeating the Cardinals with Ron Jaworski at QB and that was also after Jaworski scored a winning TD to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night. Know decided to go with James Harris, who was injured the last several weeks (shoulder) and that decision was one Knox would look back on with great disdain.

Harris never played well against Dallas, in fact, week 1, he was horrendous. Jaworski IMO, was ready and the Rams had momentum and home field advantage. Harris started threw an early interception, which put Dallas ahead. Jaworski did come off the bench, but the die had been cast and the Rams were buried 37-7.

I will always wonder what would have happened if Knox stuck with Jaws, but Knox was old school and believed you did not lose your starting job to injury, so he went with Harris. IMO, that might have cemented Jaworski as the QB moving forward, instead, the Rams drafted who had drafted in 1975 and had his rights, left the WFL and became the 3rd QB in 1976 and ended up the starter by post season.

Rams need to focus on LT, their cornerbacks are fine as they are. If Stafford has no time to throw all the talk about a playoff run will not happen. I hope Jackson will be able to play because options are few.

Some other stats over McVay's tenure.

The most rushing TDs in a year? 23 in 2018. Went to the Super Bowl
Fewest? 10 in 2021. Won the Super Bowl.

Most sacks allowed? 59 in 2022. We all remember the conga line of O lineman every week.
Fewest? 22 in 2019. That other year we had OL issues.

Most rushing attempts? 477 in 2023.
Fewest rushing attempts? 401 in 2019.

Some 'odd' stats.
Stafford has passed for 4,000 yards just once since becoming a Ram. He has 2382 fewer passing yards than Goff did in his 4 years but he has just 7 fewer TD passes (95) and 4 fewer interceptions (44).....in 5 fewer games.

McVay has had a 1,000 yard RB in just 4 of his 8 seasons.
He's had a 1,000 yard WR in just 4 of his 8 seasons, though he did have 2 each in 2018 and 2019.
He's had a 4,000 yard passer in just 3 of his 8 seasons.

Some questions.
Can Kyren become the first RB under McVay to gain 1,000 yards three straight seasons?
Can Stafford hit the magical 4,000 yard mark?
Will Davante Adams & Puka each have 1,000 yards this year?
Will this be the year we have a top 10 D vs both the rush and the pass?
