I’m trying to find a silver lining in last night’s debacle. We were unprepared, outcoached in every phase of the game, and played the sloppiest game I’ve seen under McVay. Still, we had a chance to win it. How was that even possible? After every loss, McVay tells us that all they have to do is go back to work and clean up a little things but it seems to happen over and over again and nothing changes. A great example is the blocked kick situation. I coached high school football for over 20 years and we always taught out OL on PAT to step down and inward, close the gap to your inside yet we’ve lost two games now because we can’t figure that out. You would think after the first block in the Eagles game, the ST coach would sit down with his unit in the sideline and iron that shit out. Hell, they still haven’t figured it out. The soft zone shit, how many times are we going to let Jones throw a six yard pass? Fourth and short? We can never stop it but can never convert on our end. Kyren fumbling. Come on. Take care of the ball. Red zone woes? You had the entire off-season to draw something up yet we still struggle. This offense has to much talent to settle for field goals all the time. If McVay can just take care of those little issues, this team can compete with anyone.

Change my mind

Worst loss since the 2020 game vs the Jets. Someone has to be fired. And frankly it made me not care much about the rest of the season. We aren’t good enough this year and we wasted Stafford.

OK.... yeah, I'm a superstitious bastard. Help me choose wisely! I have an awesome Rams Corona beer Neon sign right next to my TV, and I am very superstitious of when to turn it on or off. I've usually turned it on till we lose, then I turn it off until we win again. It was on for the iggles game, then off for the Dolts.

Do I buck the system and turn it back on tonight? Let the jury decide.........

So here's the story. I have converted my grandson who lives in Mississippi to a Rams fan. So much so he bought tickets for his girlfriend and himself to drive four hours away to Nashville to see the Rams play. When we found out about this, my wife said we should go to that game also and then visit some old friends in Spring Hill, TN and drive back to Mississippi to see my daughter and the other little rug rats.

So I told my grandson to send me screen shot of his tickets so I could see where he was sitting and then proceeded to buy 4 tickets three rows behind him. Never told him about this, wanted to surprise him and boy did we!

There's a little more to the story like him keep asking when we would come back out to see everyone. Had to keep making things up like flights and dates. We drove from So Cal, it took us 2.5 days and I couldn't post any news of our journey for family and friends.

I've been wanting to try this meal for years, Chilaquiles, My wife and I finally stumbled on the opportunity to share it together. It was incredible. We had the green sauce style.

I like the idea of the second part, I'm okay with the first part.

A legendary animal conservationist, she just passed at the age of ninety-one. A full life, and a good life. I only wish to inspire and change the world as she did.

This seems to work well for us at times (and other teams).

I feel like we should go to this more, not even just when the offense is struggling but for entire drives even early in the game.

One of the more puzzling storylines surrounding the Los Angeles Rams in the early part of this season has been Terrance Ferguson’s absence on offense. He’s played just four offensive snaps in four games, all of them coming in Week 2, and has been a healthy scratch in each of the last two weeks.

The Rams are deep at tight end with Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen, but Ferguson was their top pick at No. 46 overall and was viewed as one of the most talented tight ends in the class. Yet, he still doesn’t have a catch and hasn’t even been able to get on the field the last two weeks.


Sean McVay has remained optimistic about the rookie and expressed confidence in him, but how does general manager Les Snead feel about Ferguson’s slow start? He was asked by J.B. Long on the “Coach McVay Show” Monday about Ferguson not being involved in the game plan thus far and he said the rookie is “just not there yet,” but his time is “definitely coming.”

“We have a really good subset of offensive players, some of them with a lot of experience,” Snead said. “But not there yet – and not necessarily in what he can and can't do. He had a really, really good practice last week. Just think about this: He’s our first pick and he has to go to our practice field as a scout team and put on the jersey of Mr. (Tyler) Warren. I’m sure they respect each other, same draft class, but he really, really did a nice job of acting like him and that’s where you can see his skill set. So it’s definitely coming. I know Sean wants to insert him so you’re going to take some of the load off of Puka and Davante because we’re only four games through, we’re in Week 5 and we’ve got a lot more left and hopefully some bonus weeks after that. I think that’s where we’re at. I understand the frustration part. I can’t imagine what he’s going through sometimes, but I would say just not there yet. Getting there.”

The Rams have a long-term outlook for Ferguson, even if that means he won’t be involved much this season.


“Again, nothing he’s done, but he is probably more equipped today than yesterday to help the Rams because the more he goes out, continues to evolve in the nuances of what we’re trying to do. So as the weeks go on, he’ll only be more ready to play,” Snead added.

What’s especially frustrating about Ferguson’s lack of involvement is the minimal production the Rams are getting from their tight ends right now. Combined, Higbee, Parkinson and Allen have 14 catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns this season.

They’re not making big plays as receivers and though they are helping as blockers, the Rams badly need someone else to step up and take some of the pressure off of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams as the top targets.

Ferguson was a top-tier receiving tight end at Oregon and is elusive after the catch, unlike the Rams’ other players at that position. Sooner or later, he should get on the field but if he’s only relegated to scout team duties right now, it might be a little while before he makes a noticeable impact.

I don't think Brock has it in him to play scared. That's not his game. The people in this thread asking him to turn into Alex Smith are going to be disappointed. He was off on some throws yesterday, but I hope that he doesn't let that change his mentality.

I think once his foot mostly heals and we get Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle, and Ben Bartch back we'll be fine. If we're honest, this offense has never looked particularly good without Kittle.

So.. Roster wise.. where are the Rams at, in your mind? Are they better or worse than they were at the end of the season, in your mind? Compared to the start of last season?

Not a super deep dive.. but.. general thoughts:

Quarterback:
Same, and that's not a bad thing.

Running back:
Better. Corum has a year experience now and Hunter is an excellent addition, imo. I like that they have someone to work in who has a little more juice.. and who also runs hard.

WR:
Better. I hate saying that reflects in a negative way at all on Cooper Kupp.. so this is NOT taking any shot at him. But Davante is a significant upgrade, in my mind.. especially because of specific fit. Kupp may thrive again in a system where he's got two outside guys to take pressure off him and allow him to find space. Davante creates his own space.. puts a different kind of pressure on defenses.. and may actually open more up for guys like Tutu and Whittington. Also.. Tutu is better than a lot think.. and I think Whittington is going to take a step. I also think that there's more to squeeze from Smith.

TEs:
Appreciably better than the start of last season and slightly better than at the end. Ferguson is interesting.. I think he impacts the WR mix quite a bit.. I can see him taking on a lot of motion stuff and being a super-sized Puka in motion actions. Higbee came back and looked better than I expected.

Oline:
Should be better? Sounds like Shelton is penciled in as starter.. but I'm curious if Limmer can get in the weight room enough to make a difference there and beat him out. At worst, depth at center should be better. No experienced swing tackle is a bit of a concern. I wonder what they really think of Leveston? There's no reason to think he *can't* be a solution.. but it's unknown. The UDFA guy is very intriguing from a physical profile standpoint.. but.. who knows with that?

Safeties:
Slightly better. I just think with a full season for the young players.. and having, essentially the same unit come back, is a big, big plus. They need to be creative and they can be. I think they may be a real strength.

Corners:
Who knows? Lol. Apparently, they're happy with them. Seems there's some smoke around Ramsey coming back. We'll see. So many question marks.. but there's still some real potential with Forbes and Durant.

Linebackers:
Better. I think. I mean.. we have to see Paul in action, he's a rookie. But.. he seems like a fantastic addition and Landman feels, at worst, like an upgrade on 1st and 2nd down over Reeder or Rozeboom. I think Speights will take a big step.. love, love what I saw from him.

OLBs:
Better. I hope. I think Verse will continue to improve and I hope he can figure out what's behind so many of his missed tackles. If he cleans that up.. he starts moving into DPOY conversations. A truly special player who I expect to get even better. BY is what he is.. limited.. but plays hard and has some good qualities. Losing Hoecht hurts.. but I'm intrigued by Stewart and believe he may be every bit as good, if not better. Even as a rookie.

DL:
Better. Definitely better. Adding ford and then Hamilton MORE THAN MAKE UP for losing Bobby Brown.. and Poona is just an absolute perfect fit for what they needed to add on first and second downs. Hamilton is intriguing.

If the additions on offense compliment each other the right way.. the offense can go from pedestrian to good or very, very good. If they can stay healthy.. and if someone like Ferguson can be better as a rookie than expected? They may be fire. Ferguson, Watkins and Hunter create the possibility of more explosive plays, imo.. Corum too.

They still can make additions.. but it's a very solid roster.. and, oh.. did I mention? They got an extra first rounder in next year's draft for, basically, a high fourth round pick. Amazing.

Really.. he's just the most "football player" wide receiver in the league right now.. and just keeps kicking ass and taking names.

He's leading the league in catches by 11.. and in yardage by 100 yards. It's batshit. He's just an incredible force.... matched only by his amazing joy for playing football.

I don't have enough superlatives to describe him, but it's a friggen joy to watch him play.

Any chance this doesn't get spun up into a media distraction going into TNF?
