Honestly unlike some, I don't act like a know it all draft analyst.

I've never seen anything about him tbh. I've seen his name that's about all.
Refreshingly honest.

Now let me tell you about him after my 5 min analysis of a highlight reel I saw on youtube!

I'd prefer getting deals done with both Shelton and Dotson. And keeping Noteboom as the primary backup to multiple positions as he has experience at both tackle and guard. But if we can't bring both back I hope they only have to replace one and not both.

With the cap increase, I’d think they could bring Dotson back.

One you missed: Malik Mustapha, from Wake Forest.

Mustapha is extra intriguing because of the Kobie Turner connection; he also played at Richmond before transferring to Wake Forest. If I was a betting woman - and thank fate I'm not - I'd peg him as a guaranteed Ram.

This is where I'm at. Being able to run the ball hasn't been a given for us so I want to run it back with this group and add a T at some point in the draft with some upside

Hoping they can restructure and convince Noteboom into a paycut...not sure he gets a big deal in FA. Then again playing a premium position, he likley would. Some team will cross their fingers that he can stay healthy and will overpay him.

I wouldn't be against running it back with || AJack | Avila | Shelton/Draftee | Dotson | Havenstein ||

Ideally, I'd like to get more powerful a C.

Snarky I like it.

Come on, if we can't have a conversation in good faith, what's the point?

Joe has a long track record of not being able to stay healthy and not playing great as a full time starter. Teams are well aware of these things. I don’t believe that anyone would overpay him for more than what he is, which is a very good backup.

I believe Noteboom one’s back as a Ram. The Ram interesting thing is what will happen with Alaric ?? I also think as the poster said that Noteboom takes a pay cut.

Our braintrust crossed their fingers and gave him a big deal despite showing that he couldn't stay healthy for a full season even back then.

10 mil 2024 salary / 20 mil cap hit
I don't know if it's possible but....
They could cut the 10 mil in half and extend him 1 year @ 5 mil and he still gets the same money he would get if he was cut this year and got 2.5 a year for 2 years from another team (would he get more?). The cap hit would go from 20 to 15 this year, stay at 10 next year and go to 5 mil in 2026 (dead money; void year). And if we cut him next year, we'd still save 5 mil.

Alaric will get tendered.

Here’s how I see it. Rams now fully understand the value of a strong OL.

So they will strain to extend Shelton, but if they fail I think they devote a premium draft pick to the position.

Similarly, they will strain to extend Dotson but I see this as a long shot, frankly. So, they will either go to FA to fill his position (again), draft a LOT and slide Jackson over to RG, or just outright draft a RG that they like fairly early.

I’m assuming that they have moved mountains to acquire an Edge and a starting CB in FA beforehand, even if they have to resort to some restructuring. The future is now for our SB aspirations.

IOW, Snead and McVay are all over this and it will all be sorted out by the end of Day 3 in the draft. Gonna be a VERY busy and important offseason.

Noteboom is getting 15 mill this season if he stays with the Rams. He's due 5 mill on 3/18 and then 10 mill salary
After '24 season, the Rams will take a 10 mill dead cap hit for him in 2025 as he has 2 more void years on his deal
This is the part folks dont seem to understand, keeping Noteboom is a 30 mill cap hit over the next 2 seasons
Its amazing to me that some folks think paying Dotson 17 mill to start at OG is an over pay but dont seem to think paying Boom 15 mill (20 mill cap hit +10 mill cap hit next year) to be a reserve is too much
Best play right now is to release him prior to 3/18, costs 15 mill of cap vs 20 mill, and saves 10 mill of dead cap next year

I strongly agree with this. I think they are going to be in the running for the big name guys, despite what Snead may have suggested. They don't know how many more seasons they will get from the pillars and this season is the one to push for the Superbowl and they fully intend to. I also hope some vets can see that also and take a reduced salary to "ring chase".

I've kind of been on the restructure everybody to free up enough cap space to resign Dotson and sign Danielle Hunter but I'm starting to wane. I like the idea of resigning Shelton and signing Hunter and draft Dotson's replacement in the 2nd round due to there should be more top Guards available there than edge rushers. CB in round 1, as at least one of the top 5 should be available. ILB and safety in the 3rd although I'm not a fan of being pigeonholed into exact rounds for specific spots.

Agreed and not only that but the Rams in general are that team who rips the bandaid off when they make a mistake. Boom was a mistake. They're not gonna double down on him. At least that would be out of character on top of the business side making things look like an easy decision as well.

Joe played well backing up Whitworth. So they were banking on more of that same play. There has been more evidence since that he was not a starter. Jourdan said that the Rams weren’t completely comfortable giving Noteboom that deal but didn’t feel that they could land a good enough replacement in the draft. They were desperate. Plus it was not the best offseason for decisions.

I'd wait, post June 1. If the plan is to cut him.
Factoring another likely boost to the cap.. the percentage hit he makes in the future is less than what the percentage hit of the cap is this year.
But, you'd only do that if you had defined plans for signings, post June 1st.. otherwise move now.

True, but a lot of bad front offices out there with a lot of money to spend that might take that gamble
