And think of how bad Chris Simms' coaching has been that he is clueless to the fact that that's how it works - IF you are doing it right.

Curious....do you think Wentz OC is in his ear with :15 on the play-clock, telling him where to deliver the ball? hmmmm?
Uhh. Champ. You think Goff doesn't have to have his synapses firing off at a quick rate in those 15 seconds, and then after the snap of the ball, reading his progressions, sliding in the pocket, and delivering an accurate ball?

Do you think Peterson is NOT in young Wentz' ear, often up to :15, giving him advise?

"Telling him where to deliver the ball?" Really?

McVay: "Hey Jared, throw that ball to Reynolds in the back of the endzone, after sliding in the pocket, after the original route breaks up, then kind of point and deliver low and away, where only Josh can get it..."

Geez Champ. We just should have hung onto Orlavski, and dropped this stiff, Goff. hmmmm?

Watch Mcvay roll out a package this week that consists of huddling up until about the 15 second mark.

As for Chris Simms....Stronger arm than his daddy....better athlete....In fact, right up to the moment he was hit and had to have his spleen removed....I thought he'd be a good QB.....He's not a bum....he's not a fool...listen to him on.....Florio some times...knows his crap.
So you thought this clown with a 69.1 career QB rating would be a good QB.. but not Goff. Ooookay then.

Is this illegal??? IDK.....but if it is, I bet the NFL changes this rule in some way....
You might not know the answer but I'll clue you in. No. No, it's not. Not by any stretch of the imagination or NFL rulebook.

If he isn't he's not as good at his job as I thought he was. If you think McVay is in Goff ears telling him everything to do then you need to change your avatar to Chris Simms. Never mind you said you liked him and thought he was good.

As for the rest that I didn't quote again you prove what I said so thank you for doubling down.

I wouldn't call him terrible...unless you have different levels of terrible...

Sims was looking decent...until his spleen injury...even his career record clarifies this.

Does it?

Records that Chris Simms currently owns for college (UT)
Most Interceptions thrown in the Holiday Bowl (4)
Longest Returned Interception Pass for the Senior Bowl (99 yards)
Most 400 yard College Games for UT (1 Tied with Colt McCoy and Major Applewhite). - Goff threw for 450 yards his very first game in college FYI.

So his college career was not good, which isn't shocking given that he couldn't win the starting job until his last year, where he threw for 3200 yards... Goff threw for 3500 his Freshman year... Then he threw for 3900 yards his second year and 4700 his third and final year FYI.

So lets evaluate at the pro level.

First year, Simms sat.
Second year Simms started as the 3rd QB. Got into 5 games where he threw for a total of 467 yards, 1 TD and 3 interceptions. Wasn't that year, that's for sure.
Third year Simms got into 11 games... Where he threw for a total of 2,000 yards, 10 TD's and 7 INT. Jared Goff is statistically superior to Simms in every category thus far compared to his best year as a pro.
Fourth year, the injury year he only got 3 games under his belt before the injury. Shitty for sure. How where his stats before the hit though though?

3 games, 585 yards total passing, 1 TD and 7 INT.... Ouch.

The rest of his career saw him see 3 games over 3 years, throw 19 passes, completing 6 of them for 30 yards, no TD's and 1 INT.

So I'll stick with terrible. I mean the guy has 3100 yards, 12 TD's and 18 INT over his 7 year career. He simply was not good by any metric really.

I mean you can like him, but you can't say he was good, or even average really.

What I've seen from Wentz, I don't need to see what he does in a playoff atmosphere....I think his "stuff" translates.

That doesn't even make sense, across all sports there have been so many examples of amazing players who cannot do it in the playoffs, and average players becoming elite during the playoffs. You ALWAYS need to see how they do in the playoffs to know how they can handle it.

Curious....do you think Wentz OC is in his ear with :15 on the play-clock, telling him where to deliver the ball? hmmmm?

Probably not, but no QB is.

Well, I think it's ok and Goff isn't/shouldn't be diminished by this. The Rams trick is to get lined up early, preventing sometimes a late change by the defensive personnel-wise and then adjusting the play (with McVay aid) Goff is watching too and making adjustments. It's smart, not immoral.
That was a Kelly trick at UofO. He wasn’t really running a hurry up so much as hurrying his players to the line so the defense couldn’t sub then he’d back his QB away from the line and signal in the play with those goofy signs. Worked pretty damn well in college.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:You mean telling him the play? I’m going to go out on a limb and say yes. If you mean that somehow McVay is telling him where to actually throw the ball? Are you just trying to sound ridiculous? Maybe absurd is the word I’m looking for. Yep. That’s it.

Simms yesterday also said the way the giants handled the benching of Eli Manning was the classiest benching he’s ever seen lol. The guy is a complete moron.

Lol that was the most disrespectful part of the whole thing. Telling him he can start just to keep the streak going was a slap in the face to a competitor and true professional like Eli.

YEAH, kind of like, you can't be fired, but let's start changing your job and environment so you want to quit. Then it's on you, not us....... classy.

Different eras...different rules....Sims played when QB's were getting plastered.

His one season when he did well....think it was 2006, dude won 11 of 13 games....or 10 of 13....in Tampa....Tampa Bay...don't know Tampa's history?, think Jags of the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's......

Was he a great pro, no....Didn't have time to develop into whatever he was gonna be. He got hurt....tore his spleen...and finished the game. I'll say again, he was a decent player....Good even in his season were he had a majority of the snaps.

College, he played at Texas....Not the Colt McCoy Texas....the Ricky Williams Texas teams....I am interested in hearing he didn't start until his 3rd year...Or was it his senior year?
https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/texas/2001.html
Junior year...interesting players on that team....Cedric Benson....Roy Williams...Major Applewhite.....seems Mack preferred Major to Chris...as he continued to sub him out in tough games....Hell, he benched him in the Big 12 title game v. Colorado (really good team...great story about the QB on 30 for 30, Sal something).....Beat a good Washington team in the holiday bowl after going 11-2, Applewhite won the MVP.......that's when the Holiday bowl meant something....Guys from SC hate the Holiday Bowl....finished 4th in the country....with Mack Brown as HC....His last year, they finished 11-2, and won the Cotton Bowl v. LSU...running game wasn't working (against an SEC team, go figure)....and ole Chris...of the 59% completion rate....helped win a big game...no Major Applewhite on this team.

So again....not a B. Quick type rant....or G-Rob....just an honest attempt to represent a player in the correct light....not awful...not terrible....average at the worst....probably more likely pretty good....threw a decent deep ball...stronger arm than his daddy......and beat a highly ranked team in college....I guess he had help since he had several pros on his roster.

Nobody is telling a QB where to throw and you can bet that Wents is getting the play and any other advice they can come up with right up to the time the mic goes dead.

Again......EVERY team does this.

I don't understand why he would say that other than to just stir shit and be a contrarian because is wasn't classy it smacked of tanking and offering to let him take the ppening drive just for his streak IMO means they were trying to fix the insult.

the benching of Eli in this circumstance is totally classless, and almost if not clearly should violate some rule of conduct of the NFL
