According to Miles Simmons story on Rams.com; they're going to keep continuity on the O line by sticking with Austin Blythe.
Blythe is the fourth highest ranked guard in the league through two games per PFF.

Gotta keep going with what works. This is a good problem to have.

Just like in Tampa they gotta keep playing Fitz if he does so well.

Not, at all, surprised. Go Blythe. Come back stronger, Brown.

And the quote from McVay
“When you look at it, we're going to kind of evaluate those things this week. I think Austin has played really good football,” head coach Sean McVay said on Monday. “Jamon, as far as getting him back into the rhythm and different things like that, we will be mindful of that with how we practice this week. Those are things that we'll see as the week progresses.”

That McVay wasn’t ready to name a starter just as Brown came back wasn’t too much of a surprise — in many ways that’s a piece of strategy. But Blythe and Brown both acknowledged on Wednesday that the Rams’ starting offensive line is poised to remain the same as it’s been heading into Week 3.

He hasn't named a starter yet but the speculation is he'll stick with Blythe unless Brown proves himself during the week of practice to be ready.

I still like Brown. Felt like his run blocking was stellar and pass blocking was coming around well at tail end of last year. I won't cry by any means if they continue with Blythe, but think Brown has earned the right to stay on the line.

So we used our first draft pick this year to bolster our tackle position and thanks to indianapolis's inability to develop Austin Blythe we also have an extra center/guard.

PLUS a developing center/guard in Allen.

Congrats to Blythe. I wasn't sold on the dude even winning that job. I mean we all knew he was the favorite to sub for a couple games but I had my reservations and boy was I wrong. Big deal for him to wrap it up, and it also upgrades us in the passing game as Brown IMO was the weak link in the line when it came to pickin up stunts and the rush.

Don't feel too bad for Brown, he'll get well compensated on the FA market after the season and have a job somewhere waiting for him.

It sounds to me like Blythe hasn't won the job permanently. McVay wants to get Brown back up to speed, then they'll see how it plays out.

Brown created this situation. He opened the door for Blythe. I bet he's not too happy about it. In the end, like you said, he will get paid by someone.

whilst i'm of the opinion Blythe has done enough to win the job and keep it ... the only worry i have about brown coming back in is a bit of ring rust ...i think AB starts this week .

Ughhhh.
Even that was better than having to choose between Goldberg and whoever couldn't beat out Goldberg.
Grant Williams name still cause me nightmares:confused:

I Know of no reason to insert Brown back into this OL @ this point in time. I am also aware that Brown got more reps in pre season than any other Ram OL'er but he has been away from the team now for a near 3 weeks.

Now that Jamon was activated & back in the full Ram family home its time to get him caught up on all the new stuff & whats been working for us in the initial part of this season.

Ease him in when possible if we can get a lead & need to run the ball sure send Jamon out there & let him do some planting on that nasty dirt field of some Chargers. I would not forget about Jamon he is too good of a OG to turn your back on. :)

To me it's Blythes job until further notice.
Blythe has been a back up guy so he could play himself out of the job.
But, he has been excellent without showing the same weakness Brown has.

Brown is solid.
His weakness as a pass blocker has certainly improved. But, it is still a weakness.

I see it this way... most knowledgable Ram fans are ware that (@ this point in time) This OL will have both our previous starting OG's for the last two seasons no longer under a Ram contracts in less than 6 months.

Austin Blythe is obviously technically ready now to be one of our OL'ers who can secure one of the starting OG vacant posts. The other important element is Blythe is signed & under contract to do just that.;)

Tell me why.....o_O would you want to put the brakes on what has been an excellent begining, ... of what will happen eventually anyway?:bueller:

If Blythe does play himself into "Fail Mode" ....all is not lost either, with Jamon Brown rested & fully healthy & mentally ready to take his 340 lbs plus pounds back into action. Where is there a problem?

If Blythe proves over the long run he is not what he has been thus far then Kromer would then know that Austin Blythe is not the answer @ the RG post. Kromer must then go & find a few OG's this season who can do what is needed like (Noteboom/ Allen/ Evan Boehm /Darrell Williams or Aaron Neary). In this situation Kromer just finds out much earlier in 2018 than later in 2019.
