Whats gonna be interesting is after next season Purdy will be eligible for an extension. He will have the benefit of an offense littered with all pros. They should be among the top teams again.

So whats gonna happen when the key guys are getting older the following year? And they don't have the cap money to fill losses because they gave Purdy premium quarterback money based on his success with all pro playmakers?

I have a feeling he's very much like Garoppolo. In that system with those playmakers he looks great. When those playmakers are not there I suspect their fans will be thinking what a mistake they made paying him.
Did you happen to see this mornings GMF? Kyle did a segment on how in the last thirty years, any QB that doesn't win their first SB never gets back to win one.
Purdy my be cursed!

Best part of this interview with Atlantic's David Lombardi is when he says he's headed to the 9er facility and all I can think is that the 9ers can finally be close to a Lombardi.

I literally LOLed at your post ...

It might have been the other way around. The 9ers ran the ball on a tired looking chief defense, but…couldn’t finish.

I play mahomes, I want the ball first and hope to score a TD without ever letting him on the field. Giving him the ball first would be the wrong call, IMO.

Edit:
Oops. Just saw the rule had changed for the playoffs.
I still want the ball first. Go down and score. That forces the opposition to take a little bit more of a risk on tight throws.

Yeah, and the analytical models after hundreds of thousands of iterations say it’s basically a statistical toss up.

So with the state of the 9ers D and the analytics… I’d have taken the ball also. Score a TD and then hope the tired D can make a play with KC knowing they need a TD

Dre Greenlaw tearing his Achilles in a non-contact, running on the field mishap is probably the biggest example of karma getting someone in recent times. Head hunting, dirty play and then bam!

Sadly yeah. I never root for injuries

And it sure feels like Karma

What an asshole. Breaks a TV that's more expensive than what I get in a year, then tries to assault his buddy. What a fucking loser. Those 69ers fans have issues.

I never understood damaging one’s own things… I don’t throw controllers, bang keyboards and have NEVER thrown anything at or hit a TV

That’s the dumbest shit ever.

“My team lost and I’m an emotionally stunted man-child, so I’m gonna break thousands of dollars of my stuff! That’ll show them!!!”

Huh?

Throw away team gear? Sure… I get that… but break TVs? Like what?

I’m surprised nobody is talking about the firing of Wilks. This is the same coach who held a top 3QB to 19 points in 4 Qs. Yes, he’s also the same coach that helped muff a punt and had an XP blocked.

Generally speaking, these videos are almost always staged and the tv's are actually quite cheap.

Exactly! Both defenses have to be a little gassed at the end of regulation. Put THEIRS on the field first. It almost worked too, but spags called a blitz and purdy had to rush the throw—resulting in a FG.

How games have we seen end with an interception? Down a TD, your QB has to start taking risks he would not otherwise attempt.

No, I’m not giving the ball to mahomes first in that situation. I want to score a TD and put the added pressure on him.

I just read that this morning. Really? From where I was sitting, it sure looked like a complete team collapse—mistakes in every phase. Hmmm, doesn’t that fall on the HC?

I'm surprised at how lightly fans here take Purdy. The kid is very good. Remember he's playing in a run first type offense. People here are wrong about his being unable to throw deep. I originally felt that way too until I watched more films on the kid. He's a very good and accurate deep throwing QB. If he were a Ram with McVay's offense Purdy would be tough to beat.

He was a 7th rounder for a reason. Sure he has flaws in his game, what QB doesn't have flaws, both young and old vets. Give him time and an OC willing to cater the offense around Purdy's skillset and watch the fuck out. I hope that never happens while he's in the NFCW.

When you compare scouting reports of both Purdy and JJ McCarthy they are very similar. The biggest knock on both was their need to improve their ability to read and process what they see in the secondary. That comes with good coaching or mentoring, and experience. Both have similar arm strength with McCarthy having an edge in deep throw accuracy and Purdy in throws to the sidelines.

That's why getting McCarthy and giving him a redshirt year behind Stafford to watch, listen and learn would be the perfect scenario for him. The same can be said for Nix who would benefit tremendously from redshirting his rookie year. It's why I think both could potentially drop close to or outside of the top 10 making either a target for Snead.
