I'll take that bet; in fact, I think we win the division - if, course, they follow my drafts.

Methinks the Rams could gain some 2020 cap space by extending Jalen Ramsey with a new deal that provides a significant roster bonus in 2021 from the savings of moving Cooks.

Plus, my guess is that Havenstein will be the next to be dealt.

Love the way you think. Gotta extend Ramsey at some point. Why not now?

I didn't think the Rams would trade him this year with the dead cap hit and finding a trading partner. Good year to get a 2nd rounder. I like Claypool who is big, fast and can catch the 50/50 balls. I guess it's time to move on while saving future cap space. Cooks helped Rams make the SB without Kupp. Wish him well with good health. All things considered, I think the Rams got a good deal with the concussion history.

Cooks was a big play threat every time he got the ball in his hands. He had the speed to keep defenses honest and could run any route you wanted. He also tended to play his best football in big games. He's a hard worker and a great teammate. I wish him all the best in Houston. I am not sure which Ram WR was the best between Cooks, Kupp, and Woods, but Cooks was hands-down the most explosive and dynamic, which carries its own value.

Cooks had a down year last season for a variety of reasons, but the team was a mess, and many of those reasons were outside of his control. If he can stay healthy, I expect he will bounce bag in a huge way. When healthy, he's a huge weapon and full value for his contract. Fingers crossed he can do it. 3 serious concussions in 18 months if worrisome, but I'll be rooting for him!

I liked Cooks no doubt. But I wouldn't trade a healthy Cooks for a healthy Woods, and certainly not for a healthy Kupp. Kupp is super special, imo.

I loved what Cooks brought pre-injury. But to me this trade is a no brainer, as it's the easiest way for us to get some cap space and adding a second is a nice bonus. Cooks of last year is easily replaceble, arguably without even drafting another WR. Time for more two TE sets.

Are you listening, Sean? Sean? C'mon Sean it's time and you know it. Unleash the HigBeast and Everett. Blow up the NFC West and the entire league with some of your off the charts scheming. Let the creative juices flow Sean, with some new formations with both TEs and all.
Let it rip and shock 'em all!!!

Great move. Finally! Cooks was a bad sign and a few of you here convinced me it was good. Love this love as I hate overpaying for WRs and RBs. This offense is all about it Kupp and Woods. Won’t miss a beat with out Cooks.

Don’t get me wrong no issue with Cooks just a bad signing at the time and a few know I called this. Fine player just not worth top dollar. From a value perspective I love this! Freed up money and moved what was our3rd option, perhaps 4th with our TE emergence. All it took was more dumb from the same team that traded Hopkins .
Great deal by the Rams

We are getting back on track! Moving on from Gurley and now Cooks will help us build a better TEAM!

it's a bite the bullet deal, and looks like good timing. jmo

Yea I guess its just rip the band-aid off at this point. Hard to really put all the fault on the FO though, when both players ended up getting unexpected career altering injuries. Just bad fucking luck honestly.

I get the trade, so the Rams have alot of flexibility in the future, but as it concerns 2020 season it is somewhat scary.

It will be hard to replace a speedy 65-80 catches and 1000-1200 yards which he should be able to achieve without another concussion. No matter what you say last year when he was out the Rams were not as good as with him on the field.

Sure we got another 2nd but it is not their #40 pick which may put us in contention for Taylor or the 4th DE. It is the #57 pick clearly still good but i would be hard pressed to use the pick on a wr even if we are saving a bundle next year. We have way bigger needs at RB, G, C, ILB, OLB imo.

Don’t think this move frees up any money for 2020.

I expect Sneed to trade down with at least one of those #2's, maybe both?

The value of this draft, for areas of need of the Rams, is in that 60-120 range. Interior OL/C, developmental LTs like Heck, RB's, ILB's, edge rushers, and 5T DEs.... Are plentiful in that range.

He needs to come away with more picks in that range. So small trade downs from 52 & 57 might get you an extra late 3 or early 4.

They do that and they could have 7 picks in the top 125.
