the thing I find the most amusing about Bernie, is he writes about the Rams as if he has all this inside knowledge, but I think he still needs directions on how to get to Rams Park.

I have been going to training camp now for 4 years, and I can honestly tell you, I do not remember seeing Bernie out there ONCE in that time. I know Waggoner, J. Thomas, the 101 FM crew do their afternoon broadcast on site, so DeMarco, Randy Karraker, and whoever the 3rd wheel at the time is, are always there.

You see Balzer, and whatever national guys that show up on occasion, but, NOPE!!!! NO BERNIE!!!

I get the feeling Bernie almost wants to run the Rams out of town, so he keeps attacking them. He probably can't be bothered to write about football when there is soooo much baseball news and eating he can partake in.

I could care less one way or the other because if I dont like what I am reading or the writer then I wont read. Like I said in another post most writers just write filler for clicks and profit. Just their opinion on things.

Sum1BTRthnU describing a nightmare :
Oh believe me...Slaten's an ass. He's a shock-jock to the max.

He hated Tony LaRussa and Dave Duncan when they were with the Cardinals. He hated Albert Pujols and essentially hates Yadier Molina.
He hated Steven Jackson. He wanted to trade Jackson for a first round pick to draft McFadden.
He recently ranted on the Blues.
He hated the Fisher hire. He hated the Spags hire because he worked with Jason Garret or Josh Mcdaniels or something to that effect and thought whichever of those 2 it was should have been who they hired.
The Rams were idiots when they didn't draft Rey Maluga or Aaron Curry.

It goes on and on.
Bernie's not looking all that bad anymore.

Playmaker, aka Cory, aka Not a STL Homer, aka ....

I banned that clown twice back in the day, and was blocked on twitter by Bernie, so I guess I'm doing things right.

"Cory" is the biggest wannabe on these boards. He honestly thinks he has an idea of what he writes about.

He's another one I have seen running around out there,, trying to pass himself as "media",, and finding the Rams personnel telling him "we don't think so"

I really don't see this. I read his columns all the time and see criticism, sure...but most of it is warranted and a lot of it happens to be consistent with some of the things questioned by posters on this very site. His column earlier today had a ton of praise but since he questioned a few things for some reason there are people upset about it.

It's a little hard to say that Bernie doesn't have some merit in criticizing the Rams for standing pat with the WRs they have, to question the philosophy, etc. I know almost every season for the past 10 I've gone in with hope and some unreasonable expectations. Well, after 10 years I want to see it before I believe it. Fisher and Snead aren't responsible for the past 10 years, but they are responsible for turning it around...and they've done a pretty damn good job at it so far...but it's time to take that next step. They need to have a winning record. If the WRs don't take a step forward the Rams brass should be held accountable for that.

You see the Rams get 9 or 10 wins and the offense to take a step forward, you aren't going to see many columns from Bernie, Burwell, Strauss, or Gordon posting much criticism.

But you will see Slaten bitching, guaranteed lol.

I posted on the same board as him for a few years, he's one of those guys that convinced himself that he's a misunderstood genius that should be a NFL General Manager. Doesn't know one tenth about the game that he thinks he does.

I can certainly be arrogant but I try to be realistic with myself. And I will tell any person that I don't even compare to the scouts out there when it comes to knowledge of football. And I know maybe 1% of what a college or NFL coach knows.

I just appreciate whatever opportunities I get to learn from people who know more than I do. And I love talking about the game.

Playmaker(Cory) is one of those guys that thinks he's always the smartest guy in the room.

My issue with Bernie isn't the complaining. My opinion is that a journalist's job is to inform his readers. A sports journalist's job is to teach them something...whether that's bringing unique analysis, stories, or information. Bernie rarely ever does that. He simply takes the easy way out by stating the obvious.

There's nothing gained from reading him. It's like watching trash TV.

Maybe you watch games and don't know what you're watching. The Rams drafted a DT which they didn't need. Unless, of course, they're already admitting that Brockers wasn't as good as they thought when they made him a #1 pick just two years ago. Same thing by drafting Mason. They're admitting they failed on Pead. Disastrous to have to re draft so soon, And they blew it with Mason when they could've had De'Anthony Thomas, who went to KC a round later. Awful draft. Gilbert is a bad QB as well. 5-15 when playing Top 25 teams. Next time, do your homework before spouting off.

No doubt. I guess he thinks we run a 3-4 since we only need one DT.

The true stupidity of it all is that he doesn't understand the fundamental difference between Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. Brockers's job is to stack blockers in the running game to allow the LBs to fill the gaps. Donald's job is to attack his gap, fill it himself, and make the play. In the passing game, Brockers's job is to collapse the pocket with inside push. Donald's job is to attack the QB and get up-field. A guy like Brockers is the perfect complement to Donald. Langford is the one being replaced. Because he's too much like Brockers.

And imo, Langford likely isn't being replaced until after the 2014 season. When he has little dead money left on the books and makes sense as a cap casualty. Because his style of play is still quite useful as a run stopper and to rotate in order to keep our DL fresh.

You could argue that replacing Langford is admitting he was a failure but imo, Langford has done what they signed him to do. They knew he wasn't an elite DT when they signed him. He was signed to be a solid inside presence on a D that had a lot of holes. Upgrading on him just means the team is getting better. Because that's what good teams do. They look to upgrade on solid starters with players that can be better at a much lower price. It's all a part of team building...especially when you're build up a team that had little talent to begin with. Gotta plug holes in the beginning with solid players you plan to upgrade upon in the future when you can.
