Horrible move, Kupp is worth his weight in gold

Waiting for coffee to kick in . . .

I got Kupp listed at 210 pounds, which is about 95.25 kilos.
I got gold at $59k per kilo, which puts Kupp's weight in gold at about $5.62 million.
Spotrac has Kupp for 2021 at $13 million a year with a 14.5 million cap hit.

So, if Cooper Kupp is only worth his weight in gold, he's going to be overpaid for 2021.

And 'No' on Ross . . .

I’m sorry with our cap situation I see us drafting a speed type of WR not picking one up.

Is McVay likely to give a rookie WR a prominent role in what he feels is a Super Bowl ready team?
Maybe - he really liked Kupp his rookie year

Just really depends on how well the rookie picks up on the scheme.

McVay liked Fuller enough to start him his rookie season in his defense during a possible super bowl run this year.

All depends on how well the rookies pick up on their scheme during preseason.

There's a big difference between purgatory and Brian Quick type production.
While Ross has been in Cincy, 3 separate WR have had over 900 yard seasons, Ross has barely 700 total in his entire 4 year career.
I agree but he has been stuck behind 2 proven wr. I do not think Ross has been given a shot, I seem to recall he had maybe a 2 or 3 week stretch in 2019 where he was hot. I also am pushing for him because I imagine he would be extremely cheap. A few years back Woods was considered a bust around the league

Kupp was Goffs best buddy. Do the rams trade kupp he litterally has missed every important game the rams have had and I love the guy.
This is the really frustrating thing. Very depressing how different things would have been if he were able for any (or ALL?) of those games? And to add how this last one went down, with nobody within 10 yards of him? Just shoot me.

How about platinum?

"Platinum has its reputation for a number of reasons- there is less platinum in the earth’s core and it is also more difficult to extract with only a few hundred tonnes of platinum being mined every year.
In terms of its abundance on the planet, then, platinum should always be more valuable as it is much rarer. However the price of metals doesn’t work like that and while, in theory, platinum should arguably be worth more than gold, this is not necessarily always the case."

Kupp's platinum value is a little over $3.3 million.

Really a more intricate question than it seems.

As much as I don't want to trade Kupp, I could see them moving him for the right price.

To Jared Goff, I'm sure. But, if the money being paid to Kupp could go towards a stud OLineman and the team could take advantage of this deep WR draft class they'd be better off, IMO.

Oh I know it sounds batty. My preference would be to bring in Marvin Hall Jr. But, overall while I understand that Kupp is a great slot WR, I'd rather the money being spent on him be used on a veteran Olineman. IMO, the best center in free agency, Corey Lindsey, can probably be had for less than what they are paying Kupp. A stud slot WR is far easier to find than a stud center, IMO. Especially, with these deep WR draft classes lately.

I understand that contract restructuring can change these numbers, but this team has the 5th highest cap number going to WR in the NFL. The Oline? 23rd.
I noticed him on some big plays w/ Detroit...watching highlights of Stafford. Must have been his only few since he caught only 7 passes in 19', but he is the type of guy worth a flyer. Just someone to keep defenses honest deep.

Or maybe Brashad Perriman. He might be coming around abd has the physical tools we don't have. Just not sure he can run the routes or if he has any issues digesting an offense.

Jefferson is a younger/ healthier version of Kupp. Kupp better after the catch, but I would prefer to replace Kupp with a cheaper deep threat, Jefferson takes over the slot and draft a kid for the #4 spot.

Not sure if Marvin Jones offers more deep or maybe Golladay, but you could structure their deals to be cheap next yr and save 5-6M of cap space by dealing Kupp so you get draft capital back to sink into the OL or DL.

Yesterday showed the defense needs to stay in top form or even improve to beat Brady & Rodgers types.

He was a #1 pick, 9th overall. Wasnt "stuck" behind anyone, he just didnt make plays, got hurt a lot and complained. Sure, I'd give him an invite to TC on a futures contract but from the sounds of this cat, he expects to be sought after
And BTW, Woods worst season as a pro with rec/yards is better than Ross best season of same.... No comparison....

John Ross on a prove it?.... Nsimba Webster must go....

Sure nothing would be guaranteed to him.

Webster the punt returner must go.

But, I liked the little that I saw of Webster the WR in the prior preseason. The Rams also made sure that they held on the UDFA Trishton Jackson all season. He's a deep threat, too.

IMO, they've got young players who simply haven't been given a chance due to the veterans ahead of them.

Ross has played 27 out of a possible 64 games. That alone tells you he's unreliable. Even if he did become that deep threat we covet, and I have my doubts, we couldn't count on him to be available most times. A one year, team friendly incentive filled prove it deal is all I would consider. And I wouldn't get too excited till I see him play in at least 80 percent of the games. Its likely a given he won't play all 16.

Agree man totally things might have been different. Forgetting every thing else just the Superbowl alone could have made a huge difference for us.
I definitely don't want to trade the guy but if someone blew the rams away and Jones plays for half the price ....that's rough. I am curious to know what type of value some of our players have. You know with Detroit having Goff and Detroit losing there 2 starting wideouts more than likely that Goff would lobby for kupp and Holmes probably loves him as well. Could we get a center and a pick from them?

What do you think kupps value is?

I would take his speed, FTRP. We have enough at WR to make room for a 1 trick pony with the ability to outrun the deep ball.
He's no Tyreek Hill... but speed kills.

seems like alot of us use tyreek hill as the example of what we need at wr. you know the chiefs just lost the sb and the tyreek hill lead wide reciever corps only scored 9 points. just goes to show that football is a team sport one player can't do it by him self

If it is true or if the rams do intend to free up the cap space numbers we are hearing anywhere from 50-80 million which is crazy to me. I cannot wait to see what plan they have layed out. The crappy pundits are saying a lot of players may take 1 year prove it deals to get more money and better deals post covid.

That said we pretty much all agree on what the primary needs are.
For me I want JJ and Floyd back and want to add a pass rusher.

Offensively it all depends. A true deep threat is great but if they have that money or he is one of the people "texting" Stafford. I'd say he is not your tyreek hill deep threat but man the rams have never had a receiver like Kenny Gallowday. That's a guy I would covet and I love Marvin Jones but Gallowday is something we been missing.

Also if we did sign one of them I don't want to retard Jeffersons growth either so this will be interesting in every way.

Free up the cap 50-80mil? Where'd you read that?

And yes, Golladay would be better than Jones Jr but we can have the money he'd command with woods and Kupp at WR.
