Huge Whittington fan (probably the biggest on the board), and I think that's a fair assessment of his limitations. I want to see how he does in the slot with Nacua and Adams outside. He did have an injury when he ran his forty, but he was never really the most athletic receiver, and his route running, while good enough to sell, is never going to be at Kupp's or Nacua's level.
His sheer physicality (he just bounces off of contact, as we've seen, being a former running back who switched to receiver), vise hands, high football IQ, and sheer unselfishness as a player (willing to block, willing to sell routes in a running game or when the ball's not going to him, willing to forgo stats for the win, all the little things) means something, though. I think he could easily be our slot receiver of the future.
