I was responding to the your, "why couldn't Tutu carry the offense". Nobody said he could. Well, one guy claims he could amass 1,000 yards, so everybody but him. Just like El Chapo's comment "if Tutu is that good, why didn't he take snaps away from Kupp?", it's ridiculous. Everybody (but 1 guy) has said, Tutu is a #3 WR.
Damn you sure like to use my comment lol.....as said earlier, that was for anyone thinking Atwell would automatically be a 1,000 WR which I agree is ridiculous. If he truly was that already, he would have taken way more snaps from Kupp and anyone else last year. He's most definitely a #3 now with a chance to prove he's much more. We'll see how it works out

This shit goes back. Way back. Conversationally it's like Goff... Not just about this thread.

In that situation you sit Kupp if you need to. Reduce his snaps. But the truth is even when Kupp was out it wasn't like Atwell was any sort of go-to for the scheme. He has never owned that role. Not even when the so called "sacred cow" was not available.

But in the end the Rams moved on from Kupp. So that means there is nothing standing in Tutu's way this year and we'll see if he's gonna be a dog in this scheme or whether he leaks snaps to more non-optimum athletes like Whittington and Mumpfield. And I'll be real fucking surprised, also quite happy, if Tutu actually puts out some consistent production.

Need to get him the football, he is open and deep too. Stop underthrowing him, let it fly Matthew.
That sort of curl sideline route Tutu runs is basically uncover able. Stafford throws that pass well with great timing. Tutu usually runs that in the 10-18 or so yard range.
Id really like to see Tutu used on slants as well.
A nice long slant and Tutu would be hard to cover on that. It would take time to develop with depth but could be a big play. Not too likely Tutu is going to get a ton of passes each week, but, when and type can make a big difference to the offense.

Tutu on a deep out is a thing

.

I just dropped in to say Whittington is a gun. If he needs to fill in a couple of games because of injury I won't be the least concerned.

What's going to be interesting is how is the ball going to be spread around in 2025? IMO, Puka gets the majority of targets over Davante. Familiarity. Reliability. Results. But I'd think Adams will get a lot of balls. Can't figure out why we don't get a lot more yardage on screens.

Down the stretch last year, starting with the Saints game, which we entered with an unimpressive 5-6 record, and ending with the Arizona game, after which we had clinched the division, here's how the targets and results compiled during that "every game is a must win" period.

Stafford 84 of 132 (63.6%) 962 yards (7.29 y/a) 5 TD 1 Int 94.9 QB Rating 2 sacks

Puka 53 targets; 42 rec; 500 yards; 2 TD
Kupp 23 targets; 12 rec; 162 yards; 1 TD
Atwell 14 targets; 7 rec; 102 yards; 0 TD
DRob 8 targets; 2 rec; 49 yards; 1 TD
Whittington 1 target; 1 rec; 6 yards
Johnson 1 target; 0-0

Parkinson 9 targets; 4 rec; 45 yards; 0 TD
Long 6 targets; 2 rec; 17 yards; 0 TD
**Higbee 5 targets; 3 rec; 20 yards; 1 TD ( didn't return until the Jets game)
Allen 1 target; 0-0

Kyren 9 targets; 9 rec; 46 yards; 0 TD
Corum 2 targets; 2 rec; 15 yards; 0 TD

Rushing:

Kyren 109 att; 477 yards; (4.4) 5 TD
Corum 27 att; 91 yards (3.4) 0 TD
Puka 8 att; 34 yards (4.2) 1 TD
Atwell 1 att; 0-0

Massive dude is a basic slot reciver with no speed there’s reasons he went in the 6th round and yea they say this last year about tutu but Mcvay also said tutu should have gotten to play more and basically only reason he didn’t play cause kupp was there

Puka went in rd 5 and turned out fine.

Whittington, when given opportunities, caught 78% of passes. He has plenty of speed. He looks faster than Kupp ever was. Until he pulled his hamstring, he was repeatedly timed in the high 4.4 to low 4.5. His hamstring injury before the combine, preventing him from competing in anything other than bench is why he was a 6th round pick. I’m not saying he’s a world beater, but I think his ceiling is higher than some suggest.

I guessing Atwell sees' more deep ball op's then any time in his career.
I also think we will see more 12 personnel than in recent seasons,
Super excited to see Atwell get that chance.

Count me as a Whit fan (though not when we picked him) but he's limited athletically and while his straight line speed (see kickoffs) is superior to Kupp, his speed on routes is not (due to lack of hip sink and change of direction skills). That being said, I think he can improve somewhat on last year. He's Deebo-lite. A guy who can line up in the slot, in the backfield, run some RB plays for you (a YAC baby-monster).

A useful player. Possibly a guy who takes a top 3 spot permanently (though prob has to show more at Z and not just slot to do that).
