I have to agree that Lawrence Philips was the worst pick ever but I'd give Tony banks a close second! He never did learn that no matter how strong you think that your arm may be you can't throw the ball through a NFL linebacker! And I don't mean through his arms but through his chest!

For some reason the Rams 10-day "experiment" with Titus Young in 2013 always stayed with me. Poor guy had some serious mental health problems-- sounds like Bipolar 1, but also at risk because of head trauma and also drug problems.

Jeff Fisher thought he could take risks on talented but troubled guys. Titus Young was way more than the Rams could handle.

Greg Robinson, I remember that MNF game against Niners (bad memory), he started at LG and had a good performance overall then LT Jake Long blows his ACL and Robinson took over. A duh a duh a duh.....That's all folks!

Lawrence Phillips is just frustrating and sad and now I'm thinking Leonard Little, too and also Brian Leonard wtf. His rookie year Lawrence after a game, solid from my memory in Tempe against the Cardinals he talked to my Dad and I genuinely for about 15 minutes near the team bus.

Yeah, mental illness sucks hardcore. Honestly never thought it was drug problems with Young; I remember doing some of the same things, experiencing some of the same things, and I've never touched drugs in my life. I'm lucky I'm not dead or in jail.

I'd vote Joe Germaine. Handed the starting QB role in preseason and yanked after his first (?) play because he didn't know what the play was. Cut the next day if I recall correctly? Only a 4th rounder, drafted in '99. Insult to injury, he has a Rams Super Bowl ring.

There are a lot of bad players we had high hopes for. I think there are plenty on our list that if the Rams didn't take them, they would have been better players. Put Kennison with manning and Harris with us and who do you thing would turn out to be better. I say this all the time. While the league is all about players, the coaching a player has to deal with makes a huge difference for their career and how there perceived, especially QBs.

Remember he was supposed to take the place of Bettis.
Yep. Traded away Bettis because Phillips was going to be cheaper and supposedly his replacement. I half think we drafted him because we knew we could sign him cheaper due to his character questions. Instead, Georgia, Shaw, and Ziggy (the clown show) get rid of yet another HOF player and bring in this garbage.

Yeah, they were like Pittsburg without the great ability to draft well.

Can't believe no one mentioned this one yet.... Not the worst but damn was this one bad.

Picking Donnie freakin Avery over DeSean Jackson.

What about Eddie Kennison over Marvin Harrison? I remember that pick like yesterday and I was a Harrison guy with that pick.

Eddie went on to have two 1000yd seasons in KC, after the Rams moved on after 3 seasons. Ended with 8,300 career yards. Not bad, but most of that outside of Rams. (Kupp is approaching 5,000yds, so... Eddie got some yards in this league).

Marvin ended up having some off field gun stuff taint his reputation toward the end of his career.

Luckily it happened this way or else there would have never been a reason to go get Faulk.

Gotta go with Jason Smith. Something didn't feel right from the beginning.

I remember an article of how respectful he was and how he addressed everyone by Mister, followed by their name, even the ballboy at practice.

This goes in line with how much of an on-field gentlemen he was by opening lanes up for defenders to get through.

Who knew drafting a former TE with one year experience at tackle 2nd overall was a bad move.

Remind me to tell you my story about Bettis during his last year with the rams. Not tonight, too much happy juice.

What ?? Tony Banks wasn’t that bad in the end.I’d say not even close.

Phillips had a good season ? Correct?
I don’t want to look it up,just a sad story.Let’s talk about mental health issues. The kid from Ohio st & Mason are just a couple of examples.Life is not always easy.

I disagree, but read how Bettis was traded & LP 21 being drafted under cap space rules.

Darryl Henley the cocaine transporter would be my pick.

Mike Schad and Donald Evans. Both were top picks for the Rams.

Not quite the Worst but absolute zeros for the Rams; and then pretty good with better teams.

So very frustrating.

The Rams were really good in the 1980's under John Robinson. Except for the 1987 strike/scab Joke season, they were a playoff team for every year from 1983-1989. However, they would get cute with their drafting; and did not learn from mistakes. Hurt the roster-talent, and led to horrendous teams from 1990-1998.

OT Schad was the Rams first round pick in 1986. Terrific athlete out of a Canadian college who the Rams thought they could develop, and would one-day replace aging OTs Jackie Slater or Irv Pankey. Schad did nothing for two seasons and was gone. Then he went to a good Eagles team and started for 4-5 seasons.

The Rams learned their lesson the next season, and used their second round pick (no #1) on DL Evans. Another tremendous athlete form another college power-house (Winston-Salem State). Evans played several positions in college (DE, DT, LB and FB) but the Rams planned to develop him as a DE. Before his rookie season ended, they had moved Evans to FB but he hardly played; and was gone after one year.

The Rams would have to dump Tutu Atwell this off-season for him to be in the Donald-Evans-category.

Evans drifted for a couple of years before landing with the Steelers where he was a 5-6-year-starting-DE!

Two players selected high for the athleticism. Two players to develop. Neither was retained long enough to develop. Wound-up with better-teams, where they did develop and became quality starters.

I needed to get that out-of-my-system.
